Nice cabin, lack amenities

Beautiful cabin, spacious and conveniently located. Kitchen lacks basic cooking utensils like tongs, no extra trash bags (if it’s a policy then that needs to change). Could not get TV in living room and pool table room to work as previous reviews pointed out but guess owner have not made necessary fix.

Very disappointing

Our stay at HIGH MOUNTAIN DREAM was, to put it mildly, an adventure, but not the kind we were hoping for. Here's a rundown: - **Construction Chaos:** The house was situated directly above a construction site. The noise was incessant, making daytime relaxation impossible. Not only was it loud, but the site also left debris and trash scattered around, which was a significant concern given the wildlife in the area. I made multiple attempts to report the trash problem and never got a resolution. - **Bear Encounter:** Our fears about the trash attracting wildlife were realized when my 8 year old daughter encountered a large bear rummaging through our supposedly "bear-proof" trash can. Thankfully, she was unharmed, but it was a terrifying experience for a family with young children. - **Community Pool** We were promised access to a community pool, . However, upon arrival, we found it locked and it said we needed pool passes that I didn’t have and had nobody I could ask about them. (Did not have any sort of information at house when we checked in) - **Pest Problems:** The house had an uninvited guest problem; mice were frequent visitors, eating through our food and leaving droppings everywhere. - **Misleading Amenities:** The listing boasted a "movie theater" experience with a projection screen, but we were greeted with just a TV and a sound bar. A significant downgrade from what was advertised. The Gas grill located on the main deck outside the kitchen was in terrible shape and had broken side shelves. It would almost completely bend backwards and almost break off the pole it was mounted to when you open the lid. - **Customer Service Letdown:** The cherry on top was the customer service, or lack thereof. Despite multiple communications with Vacasa, including assurances that local staff would address our issues, we never received a follow-up or resolution. The service tickets opened seemed to vanish into thin air. **Overall:** This vacation was more about survival than relaxation. The combination of construction noise, wildlife encounters, misleading amenities, and poor customer service made for a memorable, but not in a good way, experience. If you're looking for peace and tranquility, this rental might not be the best choice. However, if you're up for an adventure with a side of inconvenience, then by all means, give it a go. We certainly won't be returning, nor would we recommend this property to others seeking a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful!

This Cabin is huge, perfect for a big family. It is nicely updated with beautiful bathrooms and lighting. The hot tub is huge, my daughter enjoyed the swinging on the bottom level porch. The theater room is amazing! I did notice things mentioned in previous reviews, such as the theater not working, the washer not working, shower drains clogged, all those things have been fixed and were still working when we checked out on 4/12/24. In addition, I would like to mention that the theater now has a big TV instead of a projector, however it still gives you that cinema vibe. Overall, we loved our stay and will consider booking this property again in the future!

Spring break

We enjoyed the house 🏠 during our stay. We used the kitchen for most of our meals during our stay. It would have been helpful to have more than 1 garbage bag in the garbage. A lock on the outdoor garbage is needed to keep the bears out. The house was a nice place to stay for our vacation.

What a Mess

This property had MULTIPLE maintenance concerns. Spent all day with a technician in the unit with us after being on the phone hours insisting they send someone and nothing was resolved- The following was not working: Keypad Front Door, Fireplace Bedroom 1, Jetted Tub Bedroom 1, Entire Theater Room, TV above Pool Table, Had to change batteries in all remotes/taped together, Upstairs Bedroom Door Locked if Closed and Husband Could Not Get Out (Had to slide a tool under the door to get him out) Poor Communication with Property Manager, Stained Carpets, Murphy Bed Theater Room Busted with Mattress in the Floor- Great Location and Potential to be Very Pretty- However, Not At This Time- Really Consider this Booking-

Secluded & Quiet

Beautiful cabin. It has everything you need. I loved how secluded it was and especially how quiet it was. My only complaint is the 3rd floor where the pool table is and where you exit to the hot tub smells musty. It was obvious that the smell was from people entering the house while wet after being in the hot tub and then climbing the stairs and getting the carpet wet. I would definitely recommend to the property managers removing the carpet on the stairs for this reason. I absolutely love the huge bath tubs in the 2 bedrooms. It was just my husband and I got a weekend getaway so we only used the copper tub, but it was lovely. I loved being able to watch tv and take a relaxing bath at the same time!

Almost but not quite

We loved the view, size, layout, and amenities that this home had to offer. There were TVs in every room, pool table, & video games. However it felt a bit like a roughly used rental. The carpets were stained, the gas grill was this gooey mess, (we didn't use it), despite instructions we were unable to get the theater room working. The shower drains, washing machine, & kitchen sink were not draining very well. You had to hurry up & finish your shower before it overflowed the edge (it would eventually drain) & we opted to use the laundry mat nearby for a washer. These details matter & we hope that this company are able to fix them before the next vacationers.

A little disappointed

Very nice house, just a few things, windows were labeled “dirty house and a date” which I’m not sure if it wasn’t cleaned or what. Then during a little wind, the fan outside broke which made it unusable. Floors in living room were alittle sticky when we got there. Lastly the shower would clog up in the master and the leak through the bottom at the theater room. Tried calling and sat on hold for ever. Took a video but not sure what the situation is there. Nice place just for the price we paid, was expecting more.

My family and i really enjoyed our stay. It was a great beautiful cabin overall. The view was beautiful with more than plenty of room for everyone. The bathroom in the upstairs was gorgeous like in a catalog. I'd definitely would cone back and recommend it to everyone. The only thing is be careful getting there. The roads are somewhat small and winding

Stressful

Stayed on the phone for three days trying to get things fixed in the cabin, I rented this cabin because of the handicap access chair for downstairs, I was traveling with two 85 year old handicap seniors and needed that chair lift, could not get it to operate until the very last day of our stay, no one showed up for repairs until the last day and only completed one of the repair issues, the bedding was soiled in down stair beds, beautiful cabin, horrible management of it, very stressful stay, I would love a chat with the property owners

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION

I loved the location, close to everything, but felt like we were far away! I loved how high it was, yet the roads were paved and so easy to get to. Beautiful home, one of the best I have stayed at so far on my many trips to Smoky Mountains.

Cleanliness

Checked in on a Friday when they said the house had been “cleaned”. Very disappointed in the cleaning job but the cleaning people had the audacity to leave a note on ways to “tip” them. There was a blood stain on the drive way, a condom wrapped next to the bath tub in the master and the floor was sticky from what seemed to be spilt drinks. I read many bad reviews but was willing to give the property a chance and I was just as disappointed as every other review! Beautiful house, just not well taken care of.

Beautiful cabin

Absolutely gorgeous home with great location, build to host multiple pleople. My only complaint is that the showers, appliances, windows and blinds need to be cleaned throughly. Cleaning people are not doing a great job with that.

Beautiful home but full of germs!

Not properly cleaned by any means. Made my entire family sick with the stomach bug. Black mold and old food under the beds. Carpet in the media room needs to be steamed vacuumed badly. Says no animals but dog hair all over the floors to where my socks or house shoes were covered in hair.

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin was truly BEAUTIFUL!! The house provided more than enough space and the rooms and amenities provided for such an amazing time. My only note would be that there were multiple sheets in many of the bedrooms that were stained as well as a sheet in one of the bedroom closets with a blood stain. Otherwise, the cabin was very accommodating and I would definitely come back to stay again!

Beautiful but so many issues

This was by far the most beautiful cabin I’ve stayed in, but by far the worst and I’ve stayed at many. It was filthy…floors were dirty, everything was dusty, garbage left inside, open food left in cabinets, used false lashes on the bathroom counter. I had to wash the main floor bedroom sheets and pillowcases. I could go on with how dirty it was but I won’t. The hot tub was not working. The gaming table was not working. There were no instructions on how to operate the theater room and while I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, I could not get it to work. Vacasa really “dropped the ball” on this stay. They most definitely need to find a new cleaning crew and they should make visitors aware of things not working prior to arrival. I hope that the owners are made aware of all of these issues. This vacation was a very special one as we postponed our last one due to my mother-in-law having a heart attack (and coding for 20 minutes). She is our miracle and lucky to have been able to make this trip. SAD and very disappointing vacation.

Terrible communication and not clean.

Poor/ no communication and customer service from the Management company. We own and self manage two vacation rentals in Destin FL and would be sick if We had a guest that had the experience we had. Called 2hrs after check in to report two issues, 1- None of the TVs worked. 2- One smoke detector was broken and missing the cover and the battery. I was told someone from the local “Team” would call me back shortly and resolve my issues. The next day I received a text asking if I still need help and I responded “YES”. Four days later no one called or reached out. The worst was the main level bath shower. Literally had mold/ mildew buildup in three or the four corners. It’s obvious this has not been cleaned in weeks. Dead bugs on window sills and dirty windows were everywhere. I took pics and will gladly send to the Management company if I ever hear from them!! The furniture is a little worn and only seating for six in the living room for a home that sleeps 12-13. Kitchen was also a little under supplied and some of the pans need replacing. This is a beautiful home and is in a GREAT location and community. Bedrooms are big and the baths are also very big and nice. Its just a shame the Management company does not care to take care of issues.
