Maggie’s Barn & Bunkhouse

Come enjoy all that Montana has to offer. Amazing views, beautiful wildlife and a tranquil setting. Our barn offers a unique experience with lots of space to relax and majestic views. We are on 11 acres and you have nearby hiking trails & lakes within minutes. If you love the snow, we are nestled in the foothills of the Jewel Basin and near two mountain ranges for snowboarding or skiing, and also near cross country skiing trails. For once in a lifetime experience Glacier Park is only 30 minutes away.

***Please note that this is a working barn. I've just recently added an electric fireplace, but it can still be drafty and is in no way like staying in a hotel room or cabin. That being said it's a very unique experience that's so much fun!

Enjoyed our stay! It was rustic and really cute. Had everything we needed. The kids said it was their favorite spot of the whole trip. The hosts were super nice and let the kids spend some time with the animals.

We loved the barn! It was perfect for us and our dogs. Just be prepared if you are there in the colder months that the shower is in the barn, very cool though!

Read the fine print, this is an actual barn. It smells like an active barn. The main bed is in a stall, the rest are in the open area. It was drafty and cold.

The barn was very cute and clean. The barn was so cold we had to wear our coats to sleep in and still couldn’t get warm. We left early in the morning so we could warm up. I’ve never stayed in a place with no heat source. They did have a small electric fireplace but it did little to warm us. I was very disappointed in the stay for that reason only.

Perfect spacious area for family & friends. Comfortable beds, warm blankets. Rustic shower, but was hot & worked out just fine! We would definitely stay here again & would recommend all day long!

Maggie is an amazing host! The property was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our stay during the music festival. It was far enough from the town that the stars were unreal! The animals on property added the perfect countryside charm. The barn was such a neat experience and we felt like we were in the bunkhouse on Yellowstone! Our favorite part was the outdoor shower. We will definitely be coming back!! Thank you Maggie!!!

Very fun! It’s a great experience! My daughter has ridden for years and so was especially enamored with it… My sons who are not necessarily horse guys also liked it. It’s rustic, but lots of great space… big couch, enough beds for everyone… And beds were noted by my family to be some of the most comfortable we’ve experienced!

This place is a place to stay if you are up for an adventure and want something more than just a hotel. The shower outside was a new experience for me, but I was up for the adventure. The barn was quaint and Maggie has done a wonderful job of decorating. There was a delicious little snack provided for us. I would say, plan on ensuring you have some extra electrical power strips, because electricity is not as frequent since this was once a barn. This was not an issue for us since we were on our way to camp and had those available.

This barn was magical! Simply put, we had an amazing stay at Maggie's Barn. Her hospitality will never be forgotten. Her horses and precious donkey were just as sweet as pie! This was a charming barn. Maggie gave us such a gift as we have such special memories. Our dog was welcomed and that was so great. Thank you Maggie for everything! You truly gave us city folks a lovely country experience. There is no TV so remember to bring card games or board games as we played board games one night when it rained. Barn was beautifully appointed and beds were soo comfy!!!

Farm living at it's finest!! If you are a farm or horse person, you may love these accommodations! It is a true barn experience with animals on site. We saw horses, several deer - doe and fawn, grouse, a flock of wild turkeys, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 sheep and a mini donkey. The host was fantastic! She was very responsive and right onsite to assist with any needs. Let me start with the positives:Spacious, decorated cute, great outdoor picnic area with tables, chairs, fire pit, smore sticks, lights, etc. Exposure to wildlife. Remote yet 30 minutes to the town of Kalispell. The lodging is clearly listed as a barn but what I was not prepared for was that it smelled like a working horse farm. I purchased air freshener, deodorizers and candles to get the smell out. It did help but it still had a farm animal smell. My other concerns were that the hot water heater is small so you have to take short showers or wait until it refills. The barn creaks and cracks which is probably typical of a barn but I did not sleep well due to this. It locks from the inside only. When you leave, you cannot lock up your personal belongings although it is a very safe area. The barn was clean overall but there were still bits of straw and dust so my son had to take allergy medication the entire time and his girlfriend who has asthma had issues. It is a bit drafty but there are heaters so it was not cold. It was not my cup of tea but if you want a barn experience, this may be for you!

Great Time!

Overall expierence here was amazing! Everything was even better than what was listed… you get to stay with 2 horses which was a pleasant surprise! The rental had everything we needed to enjoy our trip. Thank you Maggie!

Fun Glamping

Loved the barn, it was little we were glamping but with some comfort. Our boys loved it and enjoyed the pasture and animals even more.

Great Family Fun

We stayed 5 nights at Maggie's and had a wonderful time in MT. The scenery is spectacular, the weather was amazing, the deer on our back porch every evening with the occasional visit from the neighbor's turkeys was totally our family's style. Yes, it is a barn and the accommodations are basic but we slept well, were comfortable, and it was all around a perfect home base for our trip. Thanks Maggie!
