Welcome to Bluegill Cottage! This place was built in 1970 on a 0.35-acre lot, surrounded by water and nature. The cottage was recently renovated to provide a cozy environment, perfect for family mini vacations. The cottage is sitting by Sleepy Hollow Lake, offering a peaceful experience but plenty of adventure, from fishing to kayaking/boating.

Bluegill Cottage offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, equipped with a king, a queen and 2 twin beds. Although small, there is plenty of wiggle room in this lakeside cottage. The place offers a big screened porch with gathering area, dart board, a big backyard with BBQ kettle grill, campfire area with firewood, and private docks by the water. Pedal boats and kayaks are available on site (no extra fees). The place also offers a full kitchen with all essential supplies (oil, spices, sauces, etc.), bakeware, utensils and equipment (crock pot, oven, etc.). Always-stocked-up coffee station with coffee, teas, and hot chocolate for guests.

Recently updated with office desk, chair and high speed internet for remote work. This cottage is pet friendly. Pet fee applies per stay.

A Peaceful Retreat

I was looking for something quiet and peaceful to celebrate my husbands birthday. It was a great location, very peaceful, and right on the lake that allowed my husband time to do his favorite hobby - fishing. Will definitely be back again.

Relaxing getaway

This peaceful lake side property was clean, thoughtfully stocked and a wonderful place to relax for the weekend. We enjoyed coffee on the dock listening to birds each morning, and kayaking in the afternoon. And spent our evenings around the large fire pit.

Wonderful Stay – Perfect for Quality Family Time!

We had a fantastic time during our stay at this property! The home was not only clean and well-maintained but also thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed to feel comfortable and at ease.One of the highlights of our trip was being able to spend quality time with our oldest son. The cozy and inviting atmosphere of the home made it the perfect setting for family meals, conversations, and just relaxing together. The location was ideal—quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to everything we wanted to explore.The hosts were attentive and responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. I had to visit my uncle who is in bad health and needed to find a place close and promptly. The host was very accommodating for arriving early and I appreciate it very much. I would love to stay longer to enjoy the amenities. We will be back.

Wonderful place

This place was a great spot for us to stay while visiting family in Texas. Enjoyed the decks, kayaks, and paddle boat as well as the fire pit. Only negative is that with the hard water in the area you have to use a lot of bottled water and there isn't any recycling. Nothing that this place can help, but perhaps knowing that I can come better prepared if we were to stay here again. Owner was very communicative and thought of everything. Truly a lovely place.

Just what we needed

It was a perfect spot for a short weekend stay. Accommodations were as advertised. The neighborhood was quiet and hoping to go back and enjoy the outdoor area when we have more time.

Peace and quiet

This property was well kept and perfect for our family getaway. The lake access and amenities is what sold me but the cottage was a plus, it felt like home. My wife loved the kitchen and home decor and I loved the deck and fire pit areas. We will definitely stay again.

Memorial Day Weekend - Amazing Stay

This property is AMAZING! Location easy to find using GPS - very, very clean. The paddle boat and kayaks were a hit with my family (pre-teen and 9 year old). Life jackets were available as well. House was stocked with toiletries and spices/cookware. This place is perfect if you are looking for a quiet neighborhood - quiet lake - fishing - riding the paddleboat on the lake. Highly recommend!!!

Birthday getaway

This property is AMAZING. It has everything you could need. We enjoyed our visit so much. It’s clean and comfy. We had our two year old and our two friends and we had plenty of space inside and out. Highly recommend.

Fantastic

The cabin was spotlessly clean inside and had everything you could possibly think of or need except groceries and firewood. It's a very quiet and very pretty location and we loved sitting out on the decks near the water and building a fire in the fire pit. My husband loves to fish and within 15 minutes of fishing from the dock he landed a 5lb 7oz LM bass. The lakes and parks nearby are great places to visit and the food in the area is amazing. The owner is very helpful and considerate. We can't say enough good things about our stay here.

Weekend getaway

We wanted to spent a long weekend not too far from the gulf coast area. We were lucky to find this quaint lake cottage beautifully decorated and only one and a half hour from Houston in the Goodrich/Livingston area. It is equipped with everything you may need for your stay. A really big kitchen with plenty of sitting, two big bedrooms, one bath with rain shower, a laundry room, and a large screened porch looking to the lake. The backyard is fenomenal with a fire pit, a dock for the kayaks and pedal boat provided by the owner. We had an absolute awesome time.

After months of searching, we landed our eyes on this cozy place and fell in love at first sight. The view, the scenery, the calmness of the water, and the surrounded nature has convinced us that this is the place. Previous owner has taken a good care of this place, through which, we saw love, care and memories being made. We also spent more than a year to renovate this place, pouring our heart into it, to make the place a perfect getaway spot for whoever needs it.
