MAMA BEAR Cabin is INVITING YOU!

Spacious large group retreat with fun for everyone!! Making Memories is Easy!!! Fenced private yard to keep kids safe. Lots of off-street parking including space for ATVs and boats.

Mama Bear is cozy and relaxing and can accommate small to large groups.

Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the lake. Walking distance to the Churches, to all the FUN and only a few minutes to the Grogery Stores.

Enjoy puzzles, board games, indoor eating, doing crafts together, rhythm instruments, dress ups for 1 to 100; a children's play area, karaoke, family DVDs, and a cozy reading area in "The Gathering Place." Visiting together on 2 large sectionals that have reclining seats or watching that favorite movie on the 55" TV in the Great Room is a favorite!

Mama Bear's Arcade Room with a Classic Arcade Machine with 66 games, a Star Wars Pinball Machine, Double Basketball Arcade, XBox and Skeeball is one of the best spots in the cabin for all ages to enjoy.

She has two kitchen preparation areas, 2 laundry areas, 4 refrigerators, is fully stocked with condiments and every appliance you can ever want or need. Want to DUTCH OVEN for your group? Covered on that one, too. Eating areas are both indoors and outside.

Four of the 10 bedrooms are on the main floor. Five of the bedrooms are private rooms for 1 to 2 people. The MASTER BEDROOM, located on the main floor is in the far southeast part of the cabin. Grandpa and Grandma can “get away” from all the hussle and bussle when they need to have some “down time” to rejuvenate, take a nap, or watch their own Smart TV.

Enjoy visiting on the comfortable patio furniture as you watch your children play on the playground, or dodge ball, badminton, wiffle ball, frizbee golf or on the “Slip and Slide.” Tether Ball anyone?

Soak in the hot tub under the stars with the entire property lit by solar lights. There is much “SMORE” to do. Remember the fire pit is begging you to stop by.

Working Remotely? There is a designated area, (LazyDaz) with desk, sitting area and use of the high speed Fiber Optic Internet. You can still hop out of bed and work in your PJs if you want!

We found a little bit of Heaven on Earth at Mama Bear Cabin. Available year round.

Great for a family Reunion!

This place was perfect! Enough room for people to find their own space, but cozy enough that we could all be together without having to hunt anyone down. Mama Bear Cabin truly had families in mind when they created this space. We can’t wait to return!

Schramm Fam Reunion

We had a wonderful time at Mama Bear! There was plenty of space for our big family reunion. We loved the big back yard, the games and activities for children. The teenagers and little kids loved the arcade room. We really appreciated the 4 refrigerators! This is a great place if you have a big family. Highly recommend!

Cozy and fun stay!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mama Bear! We had a large group that had singles, kids, and couples. The rooms accomedated us very well and they were super cozy. Lots of fun activities/games for the kids! We were within walking distance of breakfast (Ruca's) and all the food places! There is also water access really close and Bear Lake State Park is only 1.5mile away. Wonderful stay!

Mama Bear was great

Fun cabin and lake house feel. Lots of things for kids to do in game room and big yard. Great location right in Garden City. Big great room. Has two kitchens but one large one would be preferable.

10 stars! Amazing cabin and wonderful host

I would give 20 stars if I could! The cabin is so welcoming and has everything you need and more! The location is superb, within walking distance of a beach, and several restaurants and shops. We enjoyed the game room and hanging out in the great room together. The hot tub is amazing and a great fire pit area. We cannot wait to come back!

Family Reunion at Bear Lake!

We had an amazing time at the Mama Bear property. Four brothers and their families got together for the first time in a few years for a family reunion and we had a blast! Our kids enjoyed having their own rooms with their cousins, tha backyard was huge with plenty of space to run around and BBQ. It was a great experience and the host was attentive to our needs, responsive and so very kind. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Highly recommend!

We had 33 individuals for this 5-day stay. The only major hiccup was we thought we saw two grills in the photograph and it turns out one wasn't a grill but was a griddle. Unfortunately, the other grill had been retired and we had no grill for our 4th of July celebration. My son contacted the owner and he was willing to purchase a grill right then and there and get it set up for us. We had already started cooking food inside and on the griddle outside, so he went ahead and credited us 350. Otherwise, there was ample parking, for everyone, an enjoyable hot tub, enjoyable playrooms for the little ones, lots of activities to do in the house, including a real poker table and we walked down to the lake that was on the road right next to the house where we brought our three watercraft close enough to shore to wade out. We could have used the Garden City public beach which was only a 10 to 15 minute walk, but everyone seemed happy with the 5-minute walk that was next to Mama Bear's . Both kitchens were ideal because we have one family member that has a medical problem and needed the separate kitchen from where most of the food was prepared. We're a family of soccer players, so both TVs were tuned to the World Cup throughout our 5-day stay. Lots of pickleball courts at the park, and I really enjoyed the concert. Starship was the headliner and brought back many memories. The fireworks were excellent. We all enjoyed the milkshakes and shaved ice throughout our stay. We were pleased!

Best Family Reunion

We walked into the cabin and were absolutely thrilled and amazed. The online photos, though great, didn’t do it justice. We could eat together in the yard and there were so many things to do, both in the yard and in the cabin itself. The arcade room was a huge hit with our teenage boys. Thanks for a fabulous place to build our family memories!! ❤️

Family Reunion

We had a very enjoyable time with our family. The location was wonderful - walking distance to most everything. The yard was great for the kids - their favorite part. Check-in was simple. The garbage situation was confusing at first. The kitchens were well stocked except for paper towels and kitchen towels. Wish the kitchen and gathering places were larger and together instead of separate. Some of the beds seemed to have dog hair on the covers and there were some dead bugs in the window sills. All in all it was a great time!

I am happy you had a great time with your family at Mama Bear Cabin. The Guidebook, as well as the posted notice on the front door explained we use the dumpster on the northwest corner next to Papa Bear Lodge and not the west neighbor's private garbage can. We provide 4 double rolls of paper towels for each group visiting and there is an entire drawer of kitchen towels which is also labeled for convenience in locating them. We have a very strict 'NO Pet" policy. In the 5 years I have owned Mama Bear Cabin, there have been only 2 times a dog was allowed in the cabin. Both times they were Certified Service Animals. I will check with the cleaners, who work very hard to make certain the cabin is always sanitized and professionally cleaned about this comment. As to the dead bugs, I will also mention this to them.

Wedding weekend

We had a back yard wedding at mama bear the location is great, you can walk to get snacks/food and to the beach. The yard must not have been used much by previous guests we had to spend extra time cleaning up the porches and outdoor furniture. between the game room, games, toys and outdoor play equipment All the kids had something to do the entire time. The entire yard is fully fenced made the kids playing outside safe. The owners are easy to reach and very accommodating.

When it rains, or when it is a windy day, which it had been prior to your arrival, the large pine trees, surrounding the patio, will drop pine needles onto the porches and outdoor furniture. We provide a leaf blower for our guests to use should this happen. We are happy your wedding was enjoyable and hope you return anytime.

Living the life.

We found this cabin and invited some friends up to join us for the weekend. We just had the best time, there was plenty of room for all of our friends, the extra kitchen is so nice to have. The yard is spectacular, very private and spacious. This cabin is so close to everything in Garden City and many of the restaurants are with in walking distance. The arcade room was such a fun addition and we all had a blast playing some old nostalgic video games. It was cooler but still the beach is really close. All the rooms are themed and so well decorated. All in all it was a blast. And we are looking to re-book for next year for a bigger family event.

Garden City

Cabin and property was awesome. We had an age range from 1 to 75 and everyone was entertained. The hot tub was kinda smelly and that was frustrating as we paid a pretty heavy fee for hot tub cleaning. And the fees and taxes were an additional 45% of the cost of the rental. This seemed a bit disingenuous. It's a huge nice cabin. Just tell me how much it costs up front. But overall a fun stay!

Thank you for your review. I will pass on your feedback to the person who takes care of our hot tub. The hot tub fee is $100 of the total $600 cleaning fee, which should have been spotless. The 50' pinetree hanging over our fence next to the hot tub and in our neighbor's yard, has had some issues this spring with tiny sap droplets blowing into the hottub when the cover is off. These droplets are so small, one cannot even tell when it occurs but with the cover on, the weather outside warm, and the hot tub continuing to be heated to 104 degrees, there has been, on occasion, a musty smell when you first take off the cover. We have cut the limbs back on our side but will probably need to come up with some other ideas how to solve this as the wind continues to blow sap droplets our direction. Our price is a flat fee which includes our cleaning fees. VRBO adds their additional fees, which also includes the 15% taxes required by Garden City and the County. They do charge commissions to both parties, and processing fees to both parties, which I have no control over. The total costs are given to you prior to your booking. They offer a great service but I agree with you. Their fees are alot. Again, thank you for staying at Mama Bear Cabin. We would love having you come anytime again. Janece

Best family hide away ever

I booked the mama bear cabin to combine my daughter's college graduation with a long family weekend. I thought we would rent a boat and spend most of our time on the lake. Nope- it was still partially frozen. It didn't matter at all. The mama bear cabin had plenty of space and activities to entertain everyone. It had plenty of space for my very large family and some of our friends. We all loved how well stocked the kitchens(2) were with every gadget one might need. It was decorated so cute with bears everywhere, but not overdone.The owners were very helpful and accommodating and check in and out was a breeze. Family reunion at Mama Bear Cabin

Our family of 30 people, all ages, had a wonderful time at the Mama Bear Cabin. Our toddler loved the play area and young child toys. The children loved to watch vids in the little play area, and everyone liked playing arcade games in the game room. We all enjoyed the huge grassy back yard full of recreational equipment and shade trees. Beds were comfortable and the 2 kitchens had everything we needed. We also used the grill out back. The outdoor hot tub was roomy, with clean fresh water! The proximity to beaches and hikes was perfect. We could have used a few more towels, but we just kept washing them in the several washing machines and dryers provided. Everyone was amused by the bear decor found throughout the house, fun! All in all, it was the perfect place for our family reunion.

Thank you for choosing Mama Bear Cabin for your trip to Bear Lake. It was so nice having you enjoy your time there. Please come anytime! We provide 1 towel plus a washcloth and several handtowels per guest. We addition, we have towels especially for the hot tub. We suggest you bring your own beach towels although our towels can and have been used at the beach. We have found that no matter how many towels we put out, they are NEVER enough. Rather than having endless towels lying wet around the cabin etc (which means endless laundry for our cleaners), it is much easier for us to provide towels in this manner. Great Family Reunion Place

Our family's stay at the Mama Bear Lodge was prefect. There was so much to do we only left the cabin once to the state park to rent equipment. The beach that was walking distance from the cabin was peaceful and not crowded. The arcade had a great variety of games for all ages. The Frisbee Golf, batting machine and play ground were in use constantly. We walked to get raspberry malts. The two kitchens were well equipped and we loved the 4 refrigerators. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels and two laundry rooms to accommodate our needs. The large gathering room was perfect. The patio and grills were great. I would definitely have another family reunion at the Mama Bear Cabin. Also, the owner responded immediately every time I had a question. She was very helpful and accommodating.

I loved having your wonderful family at Mama Bear Cabin. Right from the time you first emailed me, I felt you were the perfect people to enjoy Mama Bear. You left it so nice and clean, making it much easier for the cleaners to get ready for the following group who arrived just a few hours after you left. That means so much! Please come back!

Fantastic Hidden Gem

Our stay at the Mama Bear cabin was wonderful. It is a great place, and while it was just our little family of 5 it has space and beds for many, many more. Our kids had a great time playing in the backyard, arcade room and singing in the karaoke machine. Janice was a fantastic host, and it is clear she loves this property. She leaves her personal cellphone number posted in a few places and when I sent a text asking if our kids are allowed to play on the neighbor's playground (they aren't, but the playground in the cabin's yard is great) and if there were fire restrictions with the drought (campfires in the fire pit are fine) she called me back and not only answered those questions, but also made sure we had seen the popcorn maker, popcorn and array of seasonings (we had) as well as the snow cone maker and flavorings (we hadn't) and a few other hidden gems in the place. We'll definitely be coming back and bringing more of our extended family with us!

It was so wonderful having Jared bring his family for some "RNR" (Rest and Recovery) at Mama Bear Cabin. They even helped by eating some of all the abundant fruit, which was overflowing...Please come again and bring those darling kids!

All that was expected and more

So many fun things to do in the cabin and yard. Nobody was bored. Fun things for every age. Wonderful big yard with lots of fun things. Only complaint was the wagon was missing a wheel and the cor hole game was broken and mildewed from laying outside. First impression was a little off putting because lots of debris was in front of the door. It would have benefited from a yard blower. But when we unlocked the door we were all excited to be there. In spite of the minor complaints we would still give Mama Bear an A+. In spite of that

Thank you for your feedback. I was not aware the cornhoe was broken and had mildew. We have had a very wet summer but no one had notified me of the condition of it. It was new this summer but has had non-stop usage. We will get a metal one to replace it. We will also repair the wagon wheel, which again, was not reported prior to us. Thank you for letting me know. I will ask the cleaners to include sweeping the front porch as time allows. We have LOTS of beautiful pine trees, quakies and other "forested" landscaping that often blows debree into the driveway and front porch from both our property and the neighboring yard. It also blows on the patio furniture, and around the hottub, which can be a nuisance at times. However, the tall stately, mature landscaping is also a favorite with everyone who enjoys being so close to all the fun of Garden City but being in a private forested and natural surrounding. We do provide a blower, and lots of brooms but I will include the information about it and where to locate them in the main laundry room in our "Welcome Guide" in the future, as well as inform our arriving guests that they are stepping into a very "woody, but beautiful property" when they come down the 250' lane. Please come back anytime!

Reunion for family fun and Unity

Mama Bear was perfect for the 12 adults and 16 children who were present. Each family had plenty of room for their their own privacy. There were plenty of places for the cousins to interact and take part in activities that were perfect for several age groups. Oldest loved the game room and big tv for playing video games. Tweens also loved playing in the game room and outside when the weather cooperated. Younger children loved the under stairs play area and enjoyed serving pretend food from their restaurant to all in attendance. With the craft supplies supplied, we had many homemade menus crafted and our food options were many😊. Adults enjoyed the games and cards that were there along with those they brought. Early to bedders became late to bedders as we didn’t want to stop our fun times together. A trip to the lake was enjoyed even though it was cloudy. Access to the lake was an easy 5 minute walk

Annual Family Reunion

Had our annual family reunion at Bear Lake. We’ve been visiting each July for 20 + yrs and always have a great time. This trip was no exception. Mama Bear is a rustic log cabin with plenty of room for a large family. The fully fenced yard is great! There is a great room to the north end of the house that is large with a massive sectional to gather in and visit or play games. There are two sets of stairs going to the second level, we thought that was overkill until we realized the north wing and south wing second level are not connected, this made it hard to share bathrooms and keep families together.This house is great in some ways for small children. The main floor eating area is packed with games, puzzles, dress up, crayons, books, scissors, markers, all kinds of Lego’s, blocks, etc. because we had teens, young adults and adults the stuff for children was not used and felt a bit cluttered. This house is overstocked, if you forget something I’m sure you’ll find it at the Mama Bear. We would definitely recommend for families with kids 10 and under.

I doubled this cedar siding and full log cabin in size enclosing the old garage, and adding the second level into the new addition when I bought it the end in 2020. It went from 4 bedrooms and 3 baths to 10 bedrooms and 5 baths and from 2300 sq feet to 4800 sq feet. This new addition includes the 2nd kitchen, the office area, two bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and The Great Room. It was not structually possible to have a connection on the 2nd floor between the new addition and the original cabin, hence two stairways. Although I find your comments interesting, I disagree that the cabin is best suited for families with kids 10 and under. I designed the cabin to accommodate groups as a place of enjoyment for all ages from 1 to 100. I personally have 6 adult married children, 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who range in age from newborn to me at age 76! With over 2000 guests we have hosted during the past 3 years, Mama Bear Cabin has had all age groups. Several of our guests have returned numerous times and continue doing so. We have hosted Single Adult only groups; Married Adults with no children groups, including Seniors who appreciate having 1/2 the bedrooms on the main floor; youth groups for teenagers with their adult leaders who have appreciated having two bunk rooms and lots of activites both inside and out when not at the lake; families with small children only, as well as familes with teenagers and/or young adults only; and families like mine, with newborn to great-grandparents enjoying Mama Bear Cabin together. Several of our reviews indicate the cabin is ideal for ALL AGES. We agree! We continue to invite and Include EVERYONE of all AGES and all varieties of groups to come, play and stay at Mama Bear Cabin!

I bought Mama Bear Cabin in the fall of 2020 and began doubling it in size. It was originally 2300 sq feet with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I have over 50 in my immediate family so I decided to expand into the attached two car garage and add an upstairs. Additional bedrooms were added in the main cabin as well by rearranging the floor plan to better accommodate a large group.

Two years later Mama Bear Cabin has more than doubled in size with 11 sleeping areas, (10 bedrooms plus a common area with 2 narrow twin beds, 6 bathrooms, 3 kitchen preparation areas, 3 laundry areas, a main gathering area for eating, playing games and having time together.) There is an ARCADE room plus a Great Room for large groups mingling, visiting and relaxing together. It is designed with you in mind...families needing areas to eat together, play together, spaces to be alone when needed, a work station for those working from home with free internet access and many opportunities to have time making memories together.

This is the best of the best. I'm sure you will agree. Please join my family in welcoming you to MAMA BEAR CABIN, Garden City, Utah!
