Enjoy this newly renovated home on Shelter Island. A gorgeous, well-stocked gourmet kitchen with vaulted ceiling great room allows the chef(s) to be a part of the fun. Sliders out to the pool and tons of outdoor seating provide plenty of options for a relaxing experience. The outdoor shower makes for an easy post-beach or pool refresher. Primary king bedroom with en suite bathroom gives everyone their own space.
Indoor dining options feature 4 seats at the counter and a dining table that expands to seat 8. Outdoor dining with table & umbrella along with a Weber grill.

Private backyard, large 20x40 heated gunite pool with Hollywood steps and a deep water bench make pool days a dream. Stroll to the beach to watch the sunset in less than 5 minutes. Biking, kayaking, boating, golf and beaching are the joys of Shelter Island, along with it's farmers markets, local shopping and wonderful local seafood, casual and fine dining restaurants. Brief ferry rides to Greenport or Sag Harbor give you plenty of "off-island" entertainment options, too! Summer by the sea never looked better than from this clean, comfortable home.

What a wonderful stay! The house was perfect and many hours were spent in the pool. Plenty of space for all of us to hang out and very comfortable. Our host was welcoming and super informative about places on the island which locals frequent. A fun golf course less than 5” from the house and many fun places to explore. We loved our stay here!

This property was lovely and perfect for our family vacation. Everything is beautifully maintained and clean. The kitchen was great for preparing meals on nights we stayed in. The yard and pool were a highlight and perfect treat after a day at the beach or exploring or to start the day. And the host made everything easy. Highly recommend!

The house, beautiful pool and landscaping are very lovely and well kept. The location is peaceful and a short walk to a beach which we appreciated in the early mornings with young grandchildren. Our first rental with a pool and we loved it! The house is very well appointed and had everything we needed for cooking, bbq and the beach. The outdoor shower was heavenly, the herbs and tomatoes in the yard a nice bonus! Lynn was easy to communicate with, very responsive and just a delight to deal with. We will be back!

Lynn’s house is impeccably clean located on a quiet street with a fully-fenced, beautifully landscaped backyard surrounding a large, heated inground pool. Abundant outdoor seating (both in sun and beneath shaded pergola) incl multiple umbrellas and large hammock. Main level is fully renovated (well-equipped kitchen w/ huge island, LR, DR, 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths). Basement has 2 add’l queen bedrooms and full bath. Lovely, accessible nearby host. We enjoyed our stay and especially the many relaxing hours spent in the gorgeous backyard pool and yard. Birds chirping, rabbits, deer, friendly neighbors. We hope to return next summer. Thoroughly peaceful setting.

We had a wonderful holiday here. The pool and surrounding outdoor space was perfect. The kitchen is v well equipped and there was lots of space to in the dining living area too! LK is a wonderful host and always available for any queries. I would highly recommend it.

Perfect!!!

This house was absolutely perfect for our family! The house was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation--beach chairs, coolers, beach umbrella, bikes, towels, pool floats and a well-stocked kitchen…I could go on! The host was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We can’t wait to return next year—highly recommend!

Wonderful property and host

This is a truly excellent house. Lynn Kay is a fantastic host. Very responsive and went out of her way to make us comfortable, even for special requests. The pool and surrounding area is a paradise, and they even let us use herbs and veggies from the garden. Convenient to everything you want or need on shelter island. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Great Stay. Super Relaxing

Loved it. Lynn is amazing, very responsive. But mostly for questions in advance. No problems to communicate during stay, but am sure she would have fixed anything immediately. Backyard, property, pool area is awesome. Two grills. Lots of seating. Umbrellas for shade. Living room nice and comfortable. Kitchen great, everything we needed was there.

Wonderful nine night stay on Shelter Island

We enjoyed a wonderful nine night stay at the property in August 2024. We are a family of five - two adults and three kids aged 10, 8 and 1. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped - particularly the kitchen. The highlight was certainly the pool area - which is private, with a large heated pool and plenty of seating areas. The neighbourhood was quiet and nowhere on the island is far away. Lynn was a great host, very welcoming and responsive to any queries. We would highly recommend and hope to return when next in the area. Overall a great house to experience the unique charm of Shelter Island.

Wonderful vacation

Lynn and her family are the best host. This is the second time we rent their place for a month and we always have an amazing time. The house is very well organized, nicely decorated and very welcoming. It has a great outdoor space with a great pool and a patio that is perfect to entertain guests and grill out. The house has four bedroom (one is a studio that Lynn graciously converted into a baby room for my two years old daughter). The location of the house is also perfect for us. It is located in a very quiet neighbor surrounded by a few residential streets where my 8 years old boy can bike or ride his skateboard without being worried about cars. You can walk to a a sliver of crescent beach in a few minutes and enjoy the sunset. Crab creek beach - a big attraction for kids - is also a few minutes away. In a nutshell our family had a wonderful and relaxing summer and we look forward to coming back soon. We could not recommend this place more.

Great vacation and fantastic host!

My husband and I rented Lynn's place for 1 month (July 2022). We have two kids (6.5 and a 1 year old). Lynn's place was perfect for the four of us and Lynn is a great host. Lynn is very responsive and she went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The house is extremely comfortable and very well organized for both a family or a few people looking to spend some time together. The backyard is very well done: perfectly manicured with a wonderful pool, a dining table and a cabana to protect from the heat/sun. The house is lovely and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. It has a very homey feeling that we loved. The house is walking distance from the beach and is close to our kids' favorite beach which is Crab Creek. Last but not least the area around the house is very quiet. We barely heard anyone else during our stay and our son was able to safely bike around the block because it is a quiet residential area. We would love to come back again next year and would definitely recommend a stay at Lynn's place.

An Idyllic Retreat

Of the many vacation homes we’ve rented over the years, 4 Penny’s path has been the closest to ideal. In an immaculate, well-equipped house, with a large garage and beautifully landscaped backyard with a pool, we enjoyed long summer evenings surrounded by birds and other wildlife; especially welcome were visits from Sparkles and Goose, two charming and friendly chickens who live next door. We were usually able to dine and grill outside, weather permitting, or sit under the generous pergola when the sun was intense. The grounds and the pool are scrupulously maintained with many umbrellas for shade, while the neighborhood is quiet and lush with greenery. An outdoor shower is a particular treat. The kitchen is large and very well equipped with spices, household supplies and three coffee makers, a rarity in rental homes. A powerful generator instantly restores power in case of outages. A word of caution for anyone with mobility issues, as one of us has: the master bed, though comfortable, is abnormally high (to allow for drawers underneath), so it is difficult to enter and dismount. Also, the guest bedrooms, bath and washer/dryer are in the basement, down a steep flight of stairs, a challenge for older folks or handicapped. That being said, the rental has our highest recommendation. Lynn Kay was an exceedingly responsive host who was there in a flash whenever anything was needed.

This was our second time renting this house! And it was a wonderful experience both times! The host was responsive and easy to work with. The property is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything our family of four needed.We especially enjoyed the pool, the outdoor sitting area, the dining table, outdoor shower and the location. We look forward to renting this house again.
