Perfect stay !

We had a perfect stay at the Sunshine House. The home and property were clean, organized, and very comfortable, and the owners couldn’t have been more accommodating. I highly recommend this property!

Excellent house and hosts

The house was immaculate, spacious, and on beautiful grounds. Unlike some other rentals we’ve been too, even the grill and sheets were high quality and spotless. We had an excellent stay and hope to stay there again.

Lovely family vacation home

Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Communication was clear and helpful from the hosts. If anything the photos didn’t do the property justice. It was a beautifully appointed home on a lovely piece of property. We look forward to coming again!

Wonderfully appointed house will rolling hills and exceptional pool

Beautifully appointed farm house perched at the center of Shelter Island. Centrally located to all the amazing beach experiences Shelter Island has to offer. Bicycle riding was exceptional with tremendous views of the Peconic water ways and the pool was a wonderful place to relax and get away. We totally fell in love with the house.

Perfect relaxing beach retreat!

3 generations of our family had a fantastic week on Aparna's rental. The house was immaculately clean (and I am picky!) and very well appointed (we cooked nearly 3 meals a way and the kitchen had everything we needed). The property was spacious, with plenty of space for the kids to run around, fly kites, play soccer, and even make smores in the fire pit. And it goes without saying the pool was delightful. Aparna was very responsive when we had questions. A perfect end to summer!

A perfect stay

I really cannot say enough good things about this home or the owners Aparna and Kevin. The property is gorgeous and so well tended with beautiful flowers and landscaping. The pool is a nice size and heated so it is comfortable even when beach weather is not optimal. The house is great -- they have well stocked the kitchen and each bed is comfortable and everything is in good, clean condition. They also provide everything needed for the beach trips -- chairs, umbrellas, bikes, even a beach cart. Aparna and Kevin were wonderful to communicate with and very organized in sharing information about the island and the house. Plus they were available during the stay when needed. I cannot wait for our next stay!

Wedding weekend

We rented this home for my daughters wedding weekend on Shelter Island. The home was a perfect fit for my immediate family. The home was in mint condition & had all the amenities as advertised. The day after the wedding we spent the entire afternoon in the backyard relaxing in lounge chairs & the spacious pool. The backyard is beautifully landscaped & has plenty space to stretch out. The hosts Kevin & Arparna are very responsive to any questions you may have. We are talking about returning to Shelter Island & this property in the future.

Clean home perfect for a family

Great communication with the property owner, responded promptly to any question I had. House was clean and tidy upon arrival. Having the bedroom downstairs was great for my parents. The set up as a whole was nice, it felt like you had privacy and werent on top of eachother. We stayed for a wedding and having a whole house made it much more comfortable. They have plenty of things to keep you busy(games, bikes etc..) and they fire pit was perfect on a fall night. We had brought our own firewood too but didnt need a ton. Would definetly recommend for a family with kids. Master suite was even bigger than the pictures made it seem. Property owner left us alone too - I had a previous experience where the owner was on the premise and made me a little uncomfortable. I would definetly recommend this location and would rent again.

An Enchanting Interlude

We were on Shelter Island for our son’s wedding weekend and we’re completely satisfied by the beauty of the home and the hospitality of our hosts! Couldn’t imagine a more enjoyable festive vacation!

Beautiful home

This is a gorgeous extremely well-appointed home that comfortably accommodated 2 families of four. The hosts were gracious and communicative and I would definitely rent from them again.

Absolutely Fantastic

I couldn’t say enough good things. We spent Thanksgiving with family at Aparna’s home. To begin, the communication was impeccable; check-in and checkout information, areas of interest in the general vicinity, available appliances etc. The bottle of wine as a welcome gift was an awesome addition. We will certainly be back to Shelter Island. I would highly recommend having Aparna as your host.

Hidden gem!

Not enough words to describe our stay and this lovely home! All the amenities you can possibly need and want. We had a family wedding on the island and it was wonderful spending family time in this beautiful home. Charming, homey, cozy and warm. The pictures don't do it justice. Highly recommended! Kevin & Aparna are wonderful hosts. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay!!

We had a wonderful time staying here! The property itself is beautiful, was super clean, and had everything that we needed for our stay. Kevin and Aparna were very easy to contact and provided me with additional information about the area that proved extremely valuable. We can't say enough about our long weekend in Shelter Island and can't wait to return!
