Thank you for staying at Belvedere and for your kind words about the property, interior, and appliances. We’re sorry the exterior fell short of your expectations. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will reach out privately to better understand which areas concerned you.

This is a beautiful property. Furnishing are comfortable and perfect for the house. There are several indoor and outdoor spaces that were perfect. Fun bar room, comfortable living room to lounge in and play games, Kitchen is very nice and has lots of space. The outdoor spaces are wonderful. Balconies and porch in the front to admire the river view. We also enjoyed the large fire pit on the riverfront. The house is private, and we visited Martinsburg, Shepherdstown and Sharpsburg within a short drive or uber. Great stay and we would absolutely visit again.

This property has a lot of charm. Very well cared for. Communication with Gary is second to none, fast responses. It is athe perfect place to get away from the noise of life and relax. Regular wildlife visitors, no road traffic. This is the first place we have ever stayed where my wife didn't feel a need to clean anything before settling in. I will be keeping this on my futures list.

This is a beautiful, well kept historic house on the banks of the Potomac. The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous with high ceilings, a gas fire place and updated appliances. We saw bald eagles on 2 out of the 3 days that we were there. Quiet, isolated location where you can relax and enjoy the house and the river

Loved this house !!! The host was wonderful. He provided great information about arrival and departure plus a lot of the history of the property. The house and property are amazing. The view of the Potomac was spectacular ! The house is both elegant and comfortable. The kitchen was fully appointed and had all the things needed for cooking any kind of meal. We hung out in the Saloon quite a lot too. Having the ice machine and refrigerator were quite useful. The living room furniture was very comfortable too. We enjoyed the water quite a bit. We swam, we fished, we kayaked. We had fires several days and really appreciated that there was plenty of firewood available. All in all, this property was an easy 10 out of 10 !

Beautiful! House is just as pictured very clean with a well stocked kitchen. Our family loved the huge front yard and dock to spend evenings watching the sunset and throwing a frisbee or football around. Loved being able to see the water from any of the front windows. Would stay again if we vacation in the area.

A great place to go away for the weekend!

The house is a beautiful property on the West Virginia side of the Potomac River. Despite problems caused by events outside of the owners control (hurricane), they remained in contact and had the problems worked on immediately.

Relaxing and fun Family Vacation

This is the place you want to go when you look for a family vacation. Thanks to Gary for sharing his beautiful place. We really enjoyed every minute of our time there. We brought our kayak and paddle boards. Gary also provided us with plenty of firewood. Looking at the Potomac River and water-sports on the river makes everyone happy. Definitely we will revisit again.

Family Memorial Service

The house and property are as presented in the description. The kitchen and family gathering areas are excellent and very well appointed. The location and lawn area near the Potomac are amazing. Quiet, remote, and plenty of wildlife for all to enjoy. We were in the area for a family member's memorial service so it was nice to have such a large place to gather with our immediate family and have some extended family join us for a nice breakfast and relaxing morning visit. Would highly recommend and would definitely revisit this amazing and historic house so well restored.

Fantastic Stay

Belvedere on the Potomac VRBO is a beautiful home with impressive grounds, right on the Potomac river. We stayed there for a nearby family reunion & the main floor living room & kitchen easily accommodated our party of 8 adults. Gary was super responsive to all my questions. The only downfall is there are a LOT of stairs if you've got an elderly person or someone with mobility issues. The house is also an uphill climb from the parking. This didn’t damper our stay however, it's just something to be aware of...

Belvedere on the Potomac

Beautiful property with lovely views! We saw a fox, deer, and geese. Nicely secluded, but still close to major cities and great base-camp for sightseeing in the area. Upstairs can get a bit warm, master bedroom mattress is very firm (some may not like that), and 3rd bedroom mattress was uncomfortable according to my college aged daughters. Overall fabulous stay. Owner communication was great too! My husband said he would buy the property if it came up for sale.

Great property for a destination Funeral for my Mother. We floated on the Potomac River (use a rope if current is moving) - there are times of the day that the river is like glass. I would suggest that the 'futons' in the loft is misleading. These are not futons - there is no padding. They are hard reclining chairs. The deck off the kitchen requires new outdoor furniture/ lounge cushions.

Private Getaway

Beautiful sprawling property right on the Potomac River. Pictures in listing are true representation of what you will get. Plenty of room to spread out in the very spacious kitchen and the saloon is a fun spot to grab a drink! Host is very responsive. Sent someone out immediately to address concerns about wasp nest. As previously mentioned, loft gets very hot and the mattresses are not the most comfortable. This would not deter me from recommending it. We had an amazing mini family vacay relaxing on the river.

Great

Firstly, Gary was an amazing host! He was incredibly responsive and accommodating for any questions we had. Second, the view of property was absolutely breathtaking. The home was great for our group of seven people and we loved that each room with the exception of the loft had their own bathroom and shower. The house was neat, clean and organized. The fairy lights around the gazebo was one of our favorite areas. Plus despite being a remote area there are a ton of shops just 5-10 mins away. Just a little note there are a ton of animals that are around the patio and home including groundhogs, snakes, deer and rabbits. As with any wild animals don’t bother them and it’ll be fine but you’re almost guaranteed to see them.
