Great Place!

The house was very clean and looks just like the pictures! There are few dogs in the area, so if you are bringing your dog this is something to consider. We brought our dog and he got along with the neighborhood's dogs so was not an issue for us. All the dogs were friendly.

Sibling retreat

We had a blast, great location, water was perfect and we couldn’t have been happier with the cleanliness and accommodations of this house. Owner welcomed us and was always available if we needed anything. Fantastic stay!!!

Quite and peaceful

Lovely house with a great location. The owner is very responsive and easy to work with. Will definitely rent again next time we are in the area

We loved the Porch House!

I decided to book with Reid and Whitney because of the awesome location! This trip was partially for my 2 dogs, Aspen and Piper. Aspen is an ex street dog who has severe anxiety around other people/animals and this was the perfect place for her to unwind and let her guard down. I was slightly worried after seeing a review about the neighbors dog that “runs loose”, however I didn’t let this detour me from this gorgeous place! We did see the dog mentioned in the review, but he never barked or come over onto the property. it was well behaved and stayed in his own yard! Aspen wasn’t bothered at all! The back porch and the hammock chairs rocked our socks off!! Not only is it a beautiful place to stay, it’s also stocked with anything you may need. A plethora of dishes and utensils, hair driers, makeup wipes, shaving kits, and so much more! Thanks to Reid and Whitney for being awesome hosts, we will definitely be recommending this place!

Comfortable Stay

My husband and elderly Brother in law got up early every day to go hunting, while my sister-in-law and I stayed all day at the house. We had our small dogs with us. There is a huge deerhound in the neighborhood that belongs to a neighbor. They allow this dog to run loose out of control. When we would take our yorkies out in the yard to take care of business, this giant dog would come running toward us causing great fear. We would have to run inside for safety. When I saw the owner of the huge dog I asked her if she would control her dog that it is scaring my littles. She responded with "we live here". So basically she was unconcerned about anyone but herself and her giant dog. I say all of this to warn you, if you choose to bring your pets, please don't leave them alone outside for one second. The beds were comfortable in the master bedroom and the bunk bed room. However, the back bedroom needs a new mattress. The kitchen was easy to work in. Very clean and orderly. If you plan to cook, bring your own pans as their pans need to be replaced. There were plenty of serving dishes, nice utensils, plenty of coffee cups and glasses. They have a nice washer and dryer to use if you stay for a long period of time. We were there for a whole week over Thanksgiving. There are games to play in the closet. The TV in living room takes a minute to figure out how to use but works great!. The back porch was a cool hang out if the weather permits. The view of the lake is wonderful.

Family Stay at the Lake

Amazing property. Perfect lakeside location. Back patio was awesome for hanging out during the evening. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were just right for our group. Reid and Whitney were amazing hosts. Highly recommend.

Amazing location and home

We really enjoyed our stay here. It’s walking distance to the lake and the home is very clean. Cooking ware and utensils are a little on the slim side, but we were able to make do. Cute home with plenty of things to do!!

The Porch House

This was the cutest little property near the lake. The downfalls for us were things completely out of the property owners control…it was a burn ban so no outdoor fire and no s’mores, the roads were rough,windy, unlaced and not convenient for a boat of any size. The house itself was adorable and the owners and their communication was phenomenal!

Love love love!

First off I have to say that Reid was amazing! The day of our vacation Reid called me while I was packing the car to tell me that a water main was broke, so the porch house didn’t have any water. He offered to refund me or to get a 500gal tank of water and hook it up. We went that route as we didn’t want to disappoint the kids. Reid went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our trip! We got to spend the weekend at the porch house enjoying the gorgeous views, wildlife, and family time! It was truly an amazing experience cooking dinner in the fully stocked kitchen and being able to see deer roaming through the large windows in the living room. My kids LOVED it! The sunset views on the back porch looking at the lake were truly breathtaking! The beds were cozy. The showers were large and comfortable. There was games to play. And Netflix! I truly cannot say enough good things about the porch house or about the kindness Reid showed us. We are so grateful for the experience we had here. Thank you to Reid & family and the porch house! It truly felt like home 😁

Outstanding location and facility

The Porch house exceeded our expectations - everything we needed, plus lots of things we didn’t know we needed - were provided. The last day we were there the water supply in the area went out and stayed out until we left the next morning. We emailed our host and he kept us up to date on the situation. It was awkward, but we coped, and our host insisted on refunding our fee for the day. That was a wonderful gift. We dealt with the situation and continued to enjoy our stay. We will very likely return to this location.

Hidden Jewel!

My first yearly vacation at the lake. I'm just going to tell you, if you are thinking about a relaxed time with your family, this is it!!! From the size, to the setup, to the modern feel. Its like I checked myself into a high end hotel!! Every single thing you can think of doing to enjoy your time with your family. This is it!!! Kitchen and full entertainment on the deck, fridge, tv, high speed wifi, speakers, fans for this heat, tables for a quick family lunch. To the view of the lake, and able to rent the golf cart for the kids to roam around. So relaxing. yet, you are outdoors most of the time so much to do. The owner of this property really put some thought on this vacation spot. Thank you for the great memories!!

Great time at the Porch House

The Porch House definitely had everything we needed and more! Plenty of room for family gatherings! We were given a suggestion of a marina to rent a boat from the property owner and it did not disappoint! Evergreen Marina was wonderful! They had a whole website with all their suggestions for groceries and different things! That was very helpful to me!

Lake retreat

Annual fishing trip

A small group meets every year for the last 28 years. House was perfect the back porch made for great evenings hanging out on. Water was close and the neighbors around where very friendly.
