We had a lovely time staying at this property. It was clean and spacious. There was plenty of parking. A beautiful yard that hosted squirrels, rabbits, a deer family, and what I believe was a coyote! We grilled and sat at the outdoor table area in the evenings. We sat around the fire pit and made s'mores. We walked to the beach area and enjoyed several days swimming and floating and swimming in the lake. We did not make it to the dock area. Thank you to Todd for a great family vacation. We plan on coming back next summer to spend another lazy summer week at the Hoot Owl Lake Retreat.

Clean property. Check in was easy. Walking to the beach was nice. The steps to the boat dock was steep. Great fishing spot. The rooms are clean and ready for family stays. Enjoyed the hot tub.

Great weekend with the boys!

Perfect cozy and comfortable place to stay with the boys for a weekend. Loved the different outside activites and access to the beach and dock for when we were on the lake. Also very conveniently close to a marina. Would definitely recommend, and will be back!

Such a nice place!

We really loved staying here! So much room to hang out if you are inside! Just a short walk to what I would call the perfect beach. The dock was great, and we spent a lot of time here, just be aware the path to and from is a little steep. Host was very easy to get ahold of and communicate with. Thanks for a great vacation!

4 day stay

The house inside was very clean and accurately shown in the photos. Outside was a great place to hang out. BBQ needs a little TLC. The dock was a short walk and the beach is a short walk as well.

The house itself was nice. Very roomy. The issue we had was the dock. The pictures do not match. The entrance to the dock had overgrown weeds. The metal bar was broken off, missing boards on the walkway. There were 2 wasp nests on the dock as my husband pulled up with the boat. I messaged and called the owner. Did not get a response until about an hour later he then stated he would see if his neighbor could go knock it down. I called him abot 20 minutes later and he said his neighbor was not able to and he would call his cleaning lady. I called him back about 30 mij later and he said she had a new born and she couldnt do it. I asked him for a refund since the dock was the main reason we rented the house, he said he would give me a discount. I told him I would knock down the bests since he was going to give us a discount. We spent 40 on wasp spray. I sprayed them both and knocked them down. Another thing that is not listed is there are a ton of trees in the cove. Our toons on the boat were constantly hitting them as we drove in and out. We had to drive very slow. As we checked out i informed him we were leaving. A couple of hours later I get a notification that we received a refund. The refund was 70. That doesnt cover what we soent to buy the wasp spray and the gas we spent to go to town. Also doesnt cover the 5 hours we were not able to use the dock. For the 900 we spent on renting this place it was not worth it. As I said, the house was cute and spacious.

I'm so sorry about the wasp nest problem. I was unaware of other problems with the dock, we will take care of those other things. Also I was hoping that $70 was fair enough for reimbursement of spraying the wasps. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the house though.

Lakehouse

This house is fun for those wanting to play at the lake. Lots of fun toys and a short walk to the beach and/or dock. There are lots of neighbors close by. Plenty of parking for our two cars and trailer.

Lake Wedding

This house was perfect. Close to the water so we could go play and a very short walk back to the house so we could all get ready for our friends wedding that night. Todd was great and kept the communication open and made sure we had everything we needed. I would for sure stay here again and recommended to my family and friends. 😊

Todd was a wonderful host. My friends and I brought our bass boat and sea-doos down for the holiday weekend. In order for us to stay somewhere, there are some boxes that must be checked. We travel with our two dogs and the home must allow dogs. There must be a dock to keep the boat so you do not have to take it in and out each day when your sunburnt and tired. The home needs to be on a decent side of the lake as to not require a 30 minutes boat ride to meet with our friends. Everything else is a plus. This home not only checked all of the mandatory boxes but also checked many of the "plus" boxes. There was a large driveway to pull in our large boat trailers. There is covered parking for the boats in case in rains or just for peace of mind. The vibe of the neighborhood is wonderful. The vibe of the house is wonderful. Todd was very polite and helpful. There was not 100 house rules where you spend the whole trip paranoid. There was not cameras in every direction where you feel like you are being constantly watched. The grill is nice. The back patio is nice. The living room is set up perfectly for conversation. The washer and dryer make drying wet swim suits easy. The showers were nice. The beds were super comfortable. I am not one to typically write reviews besides "X/10" but Todd truly deserves it. We are rather picky and our stay was perfect. We will stay here again.

It did its purpose!

The inside was better than the outside. The yard needs immediate attention. Listing states plenty of room for parking but the grass was so high you could not see where to park. Upon opening the door to go in, massive cop webs and dust in the door jam. My husband had to get a broom to knock it down. I was just very disappointed. We paid way over price and with that expected so much more.Kitchen wasn't stocked with the usual things we are used too. Like a pizza pan and a working can opener. The top oven didn't work. I had my son run to the store to get the things we needed. I know that sounds like I'm just picking but every other house we have stayed at from Oklahoma to Florida the houses have been stocked with just basic things. We always grill out and the grill was so disgusting. We had to majorly clean it before we even used it. The photos show how bright and lit up the backyard was, well half the lights were burnt out. I will say the beds were comfortable and that is important. Overall the house did its job of giving us a place to lay our heads at night but that's about it. I mentioned all this to the VRBO contact and he was polite and stated "the cleaner usually takes care of those things". Do they mow the yard, change light bulbs, stock a kitchen, clean a grill. I didn't want to write a review like this but this is what I look for when booking places to stay so I would want to know. Update and clean up and it would be a nice place to stay.

Perfect Family Getaway

We had such a great weekend at Lake Eufaula and this house. It’s within walking distance of the beach. The beach was nice, except for all the dead trees in the water. But the kids still had a blast! The house had everything we needed. Lots and lots of room!!! The kids loved the ping pong table. They also enjoyed the board games. However the owner may consider updating them, they’re very old. But still fun. Beds we’re comfortable. Lots of seating. This house is bigger then I expected. The only negative I can think about is the water pressure. But that’s not really the owners cause. This is definitely a place I will visit again.
