When we arrived after 15 hours of driving, the house was not clean. We found a dead baby frog in the living room, dirt in bathroom sink, the dishes had dirt on them, dirt and multiple daddy long leggers in the corners and in the closets, dirt on the kitchen counters, it was awful and not something you want to see after arriving at 7pm at night exhausted. But what was very upsetting was that my young niece found a vape cartridge in her drawer while unpacking which tells me they either didn’t clean or failed to make sure all items were picked up from the previous stay. I’m just so glad it wasn’t something else worse than that! I reached out to the host and they apologized and sent a cleaner the next day. They also said they had the house/ windows power washed. That’s why there was dirt and bugs inside the house.. But I asked myself why wouldn’t you double check the house was cleaned before having your guests arrive? The cleaner came but didn’t wash the dishes which meant we had to clean all the dishes before using them. The dishwasher was not clean, there was a lot of food particles stuck in the filter so we had to clean that. There was a sheet of dust on top of all the ceiling fans..I was told the pool gets cleaned every Monday- nobody came on Monday to clean the pool. The bath tub drain was clogged so you’re standing in your own dirty water. We had to clean the closets so we could put our clothes away. We had to kill multiple cockroaches This house honestly grossed me out.
