Cape San Blas Cottage - steps to the beach - beach side of Cape

The Dolphin Dance cottage is just a short walk - 30 yards or so - to the sparkling white beach of Florida's Gulf Coast. It sits on the beach side of the road, behind the beachfront properties. Minutes from Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas is quiet and remarkably free of the high-traffic, tourist area crowd. Cape San Blas is a peninsula, so there is no 'thru-traffic' to deal with either. If you are looking for a quiet, family atmosphere near the unspoiled beaches of Florida, Cape San Blas is a must for your summer vacation.

The kitchen has full-size appliances and a dishwasher in the center island. A stackable washer/dryer unit is in the smaller bedroom closet. Roku TV in the living room & Smart TVs in the bedrooms. Wi-fi is included. Bathroom has a walk-in shower stall. Sorry...no boat or trailer parking, but there are marinas nearby. Only one vehicle space available per reservation, no exceptions possible due to limited parking. Due to severe pet allergies, we cannot allow pets. We apologize, but we cannot make exceptions for that either and we do check.

One bedroom has a queen bed, the other has a full size bed and there is a sleeper sofa in the living area. Due to the cottage size, we recommend no more than 4 adults to fit comfortably.

Update: These are closed due to a fire: Conveniently located behind the Tradin' Post, which offers pizza, various hot foods and sandwiches, groceries, toiletries and almost anything you may have forgotten! There is also an ice cream stand and some mornings there is a fresh hot doughnut stand.

Perfect location. Steps to the beach. Only suggestion I have would be to fix the steps down to the beach, there’s a large drop off. Hard on older folks

This property is in a perfect location on Cape San Blas, just 10 minutes from the State Park boat launch, and offers walkable amenities right down the street for anything you need during your stay. The property easily accommodated four adults, and the owners were fantastic at communicating, as well as being very kind and helpful. I would certainly come back and stay at this property.

Summer Vacation

This house has everything you need and perfectly located. A one minute walk to the beach. A one minute walk to Peachy’s Beach Eats or the Tradin’ Post. The kitchen has everything you need or forgot to pack. WiFi and RoKu TVs for late night movies. Chairs and an umbrella to carry down to the beach were greatly appreciated. The host made check in flawless and easy with clear and easy instructions. This was our third year staying in Jamaica Drive and it continues to be our favorite for the quiet, privacy, cleanliness and great location on the Cape. We highly recommend!

Sweet Getaway

My family and I loved our stay! It was a very convenient walk to the beach and was just big enough for us and our two littles. We loved that we were able to walk to grab lunch/ supplies at the Trading Post and surrounding shops. Every single person we met was so kind! We had a wonderful week.

Steps to the beach

This is the second time we have stayed in this cottage. It has now been remodeled which makes it even better. It is small but, but perfect for the 3 of us.

Sweet little cottage for a couples get away

This was the perfect accommodation for us to get away for a few days to the beach. It was our first time to Cape San Blas We enjoying investigating new beaches and small towns in the area. The cottage had lots of updated features and lovely decor. Host was easy to get in touch with. It was a great vacation

Restful week

This is the cleanest VRBO I have ever stayed at. It was spotless. It is hard to find a location close to beach, pet free, for a couple or small family. This is a compact cabin but has everything needed. No real beach view but steps to beach. We enjoyed the back deck for outside relaxation. It is close to The Trading post. It was very quiet. We had a comfortable week away.

Quiet time away

What a beautiful cottage so close to the beach! It has been well maintained and had everything we needed. The screened front porch was our favorite place to sit and listen to the rain. The beach is very quiet and has plenty of room. Love this little cottage by the sea

Dolphin Dance is a great interlude

The cottage is really just a short walk to the beach was sorry there was not much of a shell line this visit but that cant be helped. Definitely recommend this to others

Almost Perfect

Location was excellent! Easy little walk to the beach and loved having the trading post close for easy shopping. We didn't have to take any long trips for food unless we wanted to go out to eat and even then, that was close by. The only thing I wish was a bit better was the beds in the house. Both beds were full size, which made it hard for two average size adults to fit on together. The contract said one queen and one full. The bed I slept on was very hard. I'm used to a firm bed but not that firm. Pillows were not good either. For me, sleep is very important. Wish I could have had better sleep. However for the location and convenience it was a really good trip. The beach wasn't overcrowded and the people were so nice.

Needs some TLC.

This is the 3rd time we had stayed at the property over the last several years and had always been very happy with the cottage. This trip that was not the case, when we got into bed the first night the sheets were full of sand, it was obvious they had not been changed. I sent an email to the link I had for the property manager to let her know about it, to which I still have not received a response. Also the heater/ AC ran but did not heat or cool and finally the carpet is in need of a serious cleaning, if i am paying to stay at a rental plus a cleaning fee I expect it to be clean when I arrive and everything to work properly.
