This property is in the heart of the beautiful farmland of the Dungeness Valley. It's big sky country here with beautiful sunrises and majestic sunsets. The Olympics are the backdrop of one of the most favored pastoral settings on the Olympic Peninsula. You will be 1 mile from the Straight of Juan De Fuca and 1 mile from the Olympic Discovery Trail. The gateway to the Olympic National Park and the famous Hurricane Ridge is just a few miles down the road. The Olympic Peninsula in Washington State has so much to offer for the active outdoor enthusiast, too many activities and adventures to list here but just a few are; biking, The Discovery Trail, Kayaking , day hiking or backcountry hiking in the Olympic National Park, The Hoh rainforest and hot springs resort, boating the pristine waters of Lake Crescent. Big game or deer hunting in the nearby National Forest, fishing the Dungeness river, Dinner at Docside Grill at the famous John Wayne Marina and so much more. Sequim is a quaint town with great restaurants and bakeries to enjoy. The Lavender Festival happens every July. The Dungeness Valley is bordered by The Straights of Juan De Fuca and The Puget Sound with its many cozy coves and islands. The Dungeness Lighthouse is a great kayaking destination nearby. Kayaks are available here to rent. The Olympic Game Farm is only 3 miles away and the ferry to Victoria BC is only a short drive down the road close enough to go for a day trip. If your looking for a quiet getaway or a place to stay while you explore, this is a great location for you. Reminder; this is a farm setting with animals,

First Rate

A beautiful pastoral setting and good location for exploring the Olympic peninsula. The apartment was nicely furnished and well appointed. The kitchen was appropriately stocked, with cookware and staples. The appliances were in good condition. The hosts were friendly, communicated well and yet gave us our privacy

Rural Basecamp

We stayed at Dungeness Manor while exploring Olympic National Park, which was our intent. While we certainly did spend time in the Park, the location of the property encouraged us to seek out nearby attractions we hadn’t considered. We spent half a day at the nearby National Wildlife Refuge, walking the entire distance to the lighthouse and back. Also, we spent time in downtown Sequim shopping on the main drag, chatting with the delightful barkeep at Peninsula Taproom, grabbing a specialty drink at Hurricane Coffee, and dining at the excellent Alder Wood Bistro. The Manor is on a farm property, and there are cattle, chickens, a turkey, a donkey, and-during our stay-kittens. (I heard dogs barking inside the house, but during the week we encountered only one person on the property, and after a brief chat no one else appeared.) Lots of room here; a nice place to stay.

Mold problem

Lovely clean property in beautiful setting but the mold / mildew smell is overwhelmingly terrible! Host Ned’s to supply more than 2 towels for 3 night stay. Needs shower liner.

Farm Life

This is a very nice one bedroom apartment over a garage on a farm with chickens, a Donkey, and a couple cows on a good size lot-so quiet and relaxing! Its mere minutes from Sequim so close to all the Lavender Festival events and town.

Great stay

We stayed here while visiting Olumpic NP. We liked being away from all the people and loved the view from the rental. It met all of our needs. Would definitely recommend for others.

Perfect spot

We had a wonderful stay here. Location was near town but felt removed enough to satisfy a need to get away. Beautiful farm setting, great amenities, clean and cozy. I’m surprised to have seen negative reviews. Take them with a grain of salt. This is in the countryside so people with sensitivities may have issues. But that should be something people already know about themselves. It has nothing to do with the house - just a reality of nature. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed everything about our stay and would return without question.

Not clean and musty smell

I really don’t like leaving poor reviews so I want to say that the host was very communicative, and quick to help when I needed a travel crib set up and also offered to bring out their puppies for us to pet and play with. Very kind. However, the apartment was dirty and there were even bugs in the towels (which ended up in my hair). And there is a terrible musty smell that made us not want to have our kids in that environment.

Uncomfortable atmosphere

There were several issues with the rental. In total, these issues would cause us not to stay here again. We would not recommend this property to our friends. The largest issue was the overtly Christian theme of the rental. There were several religious decorations including large photos with scripture quotes. Even the shower curtain had bible quotes on it. The "audio/video library" consisted of nine DVDs, five of which had a religious theme, and four music CDs. The available books were also at least 75% religious titles. There were also several other problems: *The TV does not connect to any broadcast service. This was poorly disclosed in the property description. *The kitchen is not equipped for guests who want to cook meals during their stay. The light over the stove did not work. The refrigerator was dirty and the dishwasher was heavily stained. *A spare blanket would have made sleeping more comfortable. The duvet was too warm for our comfort, and a single top sheet was not warm enough. *There was a strong chemical smell in the stairwell next to the door to the garage. Previous reviews described the smell as mold/mildew. *Signage along the private road would be helpful. Finding the correct property on first arrival was not easy. The overall atmosphere made us very uncomfortable. We would not have rented this property had we known of the overt religious theme.

Gateway to Olympic

Dungeness Manor is perfectly situated for those looking to day trip in the Olympic National Forrest. When you wake up in the morning and step into the kitchen you are greeted with a majestic view of the mountains that is unparalleled. My wife and I loved the fact that after a day of adventuring we returned to this beautiful secluded property. We would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling in the area.

A restful night

We enjoyed the country environment. We saw a bull and a mule on the grounds. My ĥusband also saw a rooster and two fluffy hens. The apartment was clean. We enjoyed the Victorian decor. Insgesamt hat es uns sehr gut gefallen, liebevoll mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet, leider teilweise etwas defekt (Küchenstühle und Schubladen). Der Ausblick auf die Berge war unglaublich. Man hatte das Gefühl von Zuhause. Einziges wirkliches Manko war der Geruch wenn man die Ferienwohnung betrat. Das konnten wir durch gutes und intensives Lüften auf das Treppenhaus begrenzen und damit war es für uns in Ordnung.

Relaxing, safe, comforting retreat

I was traveling solo and wanted to do the 10 mile roundtrip walk to the Dungeness Spit Lighthouse and this was just the perfect spot to house me for my couple day retreat. Amy's place is on a big property surrounded by other nice homes on acreage. Her place is immaculate, comfortable, easy to settle into and they are so kind, helpful and welcoming in communication. They are easily accessible if needed but also give you all your privacy. The bed was inviting and comfortable, a hot bath after the 10 mile hike was rejuvenating. They happened to have my very favorite movie on DVD which was a nice treat to relax into after enjoying some shellfish and chowder at Salty Girls in town. It is the farm life I have always wanted to experience without having to do an ounce of the hard work! There is a fan in the bedroom which I found hitting the power button from the remote control bedside when I heard the rooster crow early was just the right amount of white noise to drown his cockadoodling out and slept for hours more. Just a nice, happy, safe and caring vibe to the place. I leave feeling more rejuvenated than I have felt in a long time!

The must/mold ruined our stay

This place should be removed from VRBO's listing. It should not be available for rent until a professional abates the must/mold issue. The owners' response to a previous complaint was that they had fixed it. They have no idea how bad it is. It is unhealthy. We limited our time to this place just for sleeping with windows open and fan blowing (which didn't help much). The face masks helped a little, but who wants to sleep wearing a mask? We used only the bedroom/bathroom. Because the smell was so bad, we didn't use the rest of the place (kitchen, living room). This miserable place is a total waste of money. We should be refunded our money, but won't hold our breath for that to happen.

Relaxing Sequim Retreat

Easy checkin, she had the place clean and ready when we arrived. There was a great fire pit we enjoyed our first night. The house was a few miles out of town in a very quite rural neighborhood. Bed was comfortable.

Dear Amy, You have a beautiful house and property. Unfortunately, the house had not been cleaned thoroughly prior to our visit. I have allergies to dust and dust mites. I hardly slept all night due to wheezing. My eyes were very watery and itchy also . I got up and cleaned the dust from all the surfaces in the bedroom with damp paper towels. I also had to take allergy medicine. In addition, I wiped out the window sills which were filled with dead flies. I hope these conditions are improved prior to your next visitors. I would also suggest you have clear instructions on how to work the t.v. set up. There were 3 remotes, but we could not get the t.v. to display channels. I sent you a card to you at l494 Lavender Meadows Drive, but it was returned to us in Tacoma. Sincerely, Natalie Nesvig

Great Little Spot

Wonderful Country Dream

This is a fantastic place to stay. After being here, we would choose no other in the area. It is located down a slow country drive way. Parking is immediately at the door. Yes, there is a bit musty stairway. Didnt effect rest of house. Wonderful views out the main window of pasture and mountains. The place was spotless. Not a spec of dirt anywhere. Extremely well appointed home. Furniture is nice, kitchen and appliances new and not cheaped out. Bed is perfect. All the pots and pans you can use. There was oil, spices and a large jar of coffee beans waiting for the provided grinder/coffee maker. This place felt like a home. We looked forward to being here after a long day. 5 minutes from Dungeness Spit park, 45 minutes to a whole selection of hiking trails depending where you want to go in the park. Firepit provided and some great adirondack chairs to watch the sunset, mountains and pasture and farm animals Walmart and safeway are near for stocking the kitchen (and i recommend for gas as cheapest in that area). Interactions with host were quick, informative and very friendly. We did not meet in person. We would not even have to think about staying here again, we just would. We regretted only staying 4 nights.

Peaceful beautiful getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as the grandeur of the view of God's creation right out the window. Being surrounded by not only God’s creation but the truth of His word tastefully presented in the home was also a joy and made us feel right at home. The Decor and design of the place was very well done. It was a short drive to get to the game farm just right in the neighborhood. If you wanted to go to port Angeles it was very close as well.

Great Find

I booked Dungeness Manor for my 80 year old father who was taking the first solo road trip of his life. Amy made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of. And my dad said he would definitely return!
