Nestled along the river front sits the coziest escape! All on one level, with great views from every room. River boat landing within 5 miles to the south! Bedroom one features a queen bed, electric fireplace, & a view you can’t wait to wake up to! Bedroom two features two full beds, also perched along the river side for bright, cozy mornings. Open area features electric fireplace, large TV, WiFi, large sofa (that could sleep one), dining table, & desk area. Home includes laundry use, Full bathroom, & Full kitchen featuring: microwave, oven/range, refrigerator, withcomplimentary coffee. Please make note there is a semi busy State Hwy on west side of property. I bet you’ll forget once you settle in to the close proximity to the river on the east. Within a few miles of Cornell grocery store, Old Abe trail, Brunet Island State Park, which offers hiking, cross country skiing, plus outdoor fun! Close proximity to Lake Holcombe, Jim Falls, Chippewa Falls, & not far from snowmobile trails, & boat landing! Two kayaks on property for guest use. $50 pet fee for one pet. Add to reservation. Let “The River Den” be your place to get away!

The river view side was peaceful and gorgeous. Had coffee in the morning and beverages in the evening out there. Saw 6 deer, eagles, and some other wildlife. Highway side wasn’t as bad as we expected. All in all a nice peaceful stay.

The views from this home are phenomenal!! The home was exactly as described. Everything was clean and free from clutter. Directions for checkin and departure were clear and easy.We stayed from Monday-Thursday. The weather was fantastic. We kayaked each day. Getting our kayaks into the water was interesting and challenging. It is a very steep embankment to the river. Worth it! We were able to kayak directly under a bald eagle. We saw 2 water snakes. In one spot I found 9 craw dads/crayfish huddled together in the shallow water. The river fluctuates by 5 feet as does the current. Be mindful when kayaking.We habituated to the road noise. We brought a sound machine for sleeping. We spent hours in the sun on both the patio and fire pit area watching the bald eagles and the river flow past. We missed out on the local supper clubs-open for the weekends only.The AC worked great. We used the washer and dryer.We didn’t need to contact the host. The kitchen appeared to have most items. We didn’t cook-fridge food only. There isn’t a dishwasher so we used the bare minimum.We would definitely recommend and come back!

We enjoyed our stay at the river den this last weekend! It was a relaxing, much needed little family getaway. The patio was our favorite hangout spot with the gorgeous view of the river!

We had a great stay at this property. We were in the middle of a 2 week tent camping trip and stayed for 3 nights. Washer and dryer worked well and the place provided all the comforts of home. View was beautiful.

Lovely place. The proximity to the noisy highway made it less relaxing than hoped for, but this is not the fault of the host. We were able to have some privacy due to the rooms not being super close. Wonderful kitchen with view. The kayaks would have been probably usedif the current hadnt been so fast.

Cute cottage that has a lovely location on the river. Surprising amount of space including a comfortable living room and dining room. Host has done a nice job. As others have noted it is very close to a relatively busy road but a white noise machine will help. Short drive to Cornell and hiking /biking trails.

River Cottage Fishing Trip

The cottage is right on the water and very clean. Perfect size for 3 adult men to have enough room for a 3 night stay. Has all the amenities we needed including cooking utensils. The directions provided were correct and it was easy to access per the directions. Great place and great view.
