The Bluemoon is situated at the end of a long white-sand beach, directly on a small private cove called 'Rose Cove by the locals because of the natural beauty of the location. A few steps are all that separate you from the brilliant blue Caribbean waters. The large elevated sundeck provides spectacular views of the South Palmetto Point beach and sunsets over Pineapple Cays just a short distance offshore.We have just added two kayaks for your enjoyment!

This spacious home can sleep 11 people in four bedrooms.4#(Pink Sands) master bedroom has a king bed, a private bathroom and a view of the ocean.1#(The Reef) has three very comfortable single beds 2#) (Sea Shells) Has two full beds and a bunk 3# ( Sea Glass) Has a queen and , a single. .Each room is individually air conditioned for your comfort.The living room and kitchen area are open and fresh with lots of windows and views of the water across the deck. Shade from the tropical rays is plentiful in the Bahamas room, which is screened in and connects the sundeck to the rest of the house.

The Bluemoon is the ideal location to soak in the tranquil sea or have a sunset cocktail on the deck or our small private beach. Our favorite restaurants are near by ...Unique Village for the best cracked conch on the island, everyone likes the French Leave restaurant 1684 , my personal favorite for lunch is da Perk coffee shop in Governers Harbour! Runaway Bay Marina is a short walk from the house.
Our caretaker, Mr. Aurthur Nixon can meet you at Governers Harbour Airport, handle any questions you may have during your stay and can also arrange rental cars or Taxis. The House was great

Blue Moon is a great place to stay, especially if you have a big group. The house has great air conditioning, all the kitchen items you would need and great views. The only downside to our trip during mid-February was the weather which was windy and rainy almost the entire time we were there. Certainly not the fault of Blue Moon. Both the owner and the caretaker were very communicative even though we had no problems with the property.

Incroyable séjour

Nous étions une famille de 10 (grands-parents, parents, petits-enfants) et nous y avons séjourné pendant deux semaines. À notre arrivée, nous avons tout de suite été charmés par la maison et son emplacement. Chaque famille a choisi sa chambre dans laquelle nous avons pu avoir notre intimité malgré la cohabitation. Les chambres sont très confortables, climatisées et insonorisées. Seulement un petit bémol pour la chambre à 3 lits qui était plutôt humide. La maison est très grande, les espaces communs sont bien aménagés et la vue est à couper le souffle. Tout le nécessaire était disponible dans la maison, nous n’avons manqué de rien (lingerie, literie, vaisselle, ustensiles en grande quantité). Du café et de la nourriture de base étaient également disponibles à notre arrivée. La plage et l’accès à la mer étaient parfaits, autant pour les grands-parents que pour les plus jeunes enfants. Nous avons été agréablement surpris du vaste océan accessible devant nous. Nous avons apprécié avoir M. Nixon tant pour notre arrivée à l’aéroport, nos soucis en cas de besoin et pour notre départ. Il est très sympathique et fiable. La proximité des commerces, mais surtout Island Farm (♥️) nous a facilité la vie pendant notre séjour. Les épiceries étaient accessibles à 15 minutes de route à Governor’s Harbour. Les plages environnantes valent toutes le coup (Poponi, Ten Bay, Twin Cove, Savannah Sound, French Leave). Le snorkeling est incontournable à chacune d’elles. NOUS AVONS ADORÉ NOTRE SÉJOUR!

Family Vacation

Had a great time with the family. Got to see stingrays and sharks. Absolutely loved the view!!! Everything we needed was close by. Perfect spot in the center of the island!

Fantastic views

This house has one of the most beautiful sunsets… Our second time renting this beautiful house. We were a group of 8, with 4 kids, ages 4-14 the house is great for children. Snorkeling was best right outside the house.

Paradise

This house is perfect for families and groups of adults. The house and property are as depicted in the pictures. Both are spacious and comfortable with enough room to spread out. All the basics are provided. The deck is large and has a wonderful view. The water access is great for swimming and kayaking. The central location provides close access to several great spots, and access to both ends of the island with a bit of a drive. I would definitely return. Highly recommended.

My Week in Paradise

Had the best time ever with my family. The house was fantastic and the caretaker took care of all our questions as well as acting tour guide. A few repairs on the stairs that lead to the water would be helpful but overall our stay was fantastic. Thanks Darlene R.

Amazing stay!!!

Best vacation house ever!….could not have ask for a better location!!! The views are spectacular. Family of 12. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out. Seen so much wildlife. Water is super clear. Enjoyed the kayaks. House has all the amenities you could ask for. Quick to answer any and all questions. Highly recommend this home. Just steps from the water.

Beautiful piece of paradise

The house was perfect for our size family and having the water so close was amazing! The cive was perfect for snorkeling and we enjoyed the kayaks. My only recommendation would be maybe adding some sun loungers. This has nothing to do with the property but recommended bringing off for the mosquitoes. Would definitely stay here again!

First time in Bahamas

House is large enough for all the family members. Great location for swimming. Kids had allot of fun. The only problem we had was with the noseeums. I read the review where bugs where mentioned, but take the bug spray and use it every time you go outside.

Great trip

It was our 1st trip to Eluthra. The house is comfortable and the water/beaches/reefs are beautiful. The winds can be tricky it there always seems to be a protected beach no matter which direction the wind was coming from. Howard was super helpful and can point you in the right direction no matter what activities you want to do.

Breathe taking views

The caretaker of this house Arthur was beyond helpful. We had a little hiccup when we first arrived but Arthur fixed it right away.. the house accommodated our family of 6 perfectly. We had our 4 kids with us and it’s very kid friendly. DVD players don’t work but really who comes to Eleuthera to watch TV… absolutely breathe taking views. Would definitely recommend this place.

A little piece of paradise

The property is very spacious for larger groups. It is stocked with plenty of towels and wash cloths. We were concerned about finding open places as we arrived at the property on Christmas Day, but the property caretaker was kind enough to stock the property with a list of items we provided him. The property has a beautiful water view from the deck.

Wonderful location

Property was very nice with plenty of room to accommodate 7 of us (or more). Snorkeling and swimming was easy off the end of the garden, it is a really beautiful location - and Governor's Harbour is the nicest town we visited which is 10 minutes drive from the house. There were many power and water outages during our stay (regional problem, not the house), but we were out and about most of the time so it had a minimal impact on our overall enjoyment. A very friendly and peaceful environment, I also had never seen the Milky Way so clearly before at night. I would sincerely recommend this property for a vacation.

Prime location in Eleuthera

Overall we had a good time, glad we had a kitchen as food is very expensive on this island. House is dated which is ok but many holes in screens. Luckily the little mats weren’t too bad in the house. Great swimming spot with snorkeling and a beach around the bend

Excellent!!

Blue Moon was the perfect place for our trip. Centrally located and private. We enjoyed having our own beach with access to snorkel and kayak. Traveling north or south to take in the sites was perfect from our location. The caretaker Mr Nixon was very helpful getting us from the airport and also renting a car. We hope to return to Blue Moon next year.

Incredible

Our first time to the Bahamas. Eleuthera is pretty rustic, no high rise major resorts, but we loved it. Blue Moon is really cool, a great location right on the water. The cove in front of the house is practically like a private pool. The beach next door is beautiful. What struck us most is there were very few people anywhere and we were there in February, supposedly the height of the season. We visited a handful of different beaches and probably saw no more that half a dozen people on any of them. Many times we were the only ones on the beach. The property itself is a little worn, could use some maintenance but I think that may be true of a lot of properties in the area due to storm damage over the years. The location, incredible waters, and sense of privacy definitely outweighed that. We would go back in a heartbeat.

Christmas/New Years in the Bahamas

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were good for our large group. Each family had a private room where we could sleep, change and decompress. The open areas were comfortable and provided enough space that for our New Years Party of 20 we had lots of room. The property itself needs some TLC but it was clean. We enjoyed spending time exploring the beaches and caves on the Island. Take the time to lay in the sand at night at look up at the amazing display of stars. The water was so beautiful!

A wonderful week

Beautiful spot, great location, and a very nice enable proprietor. Myself and my family were so fortunate to have such a wonderful week at such a beautiful place and able to make it back home before things got bad. Thank you Howard and Mr. Nixon we will always treasure the memories there

Great Funky Beach House

Great layout for families with a "dog run" between the bedrooms and living areas ,kitchen. Wonderful views, perfect location and every imaginable cooking tool, water toy, pot, cup you could need. Lots of beach towels and a great cd collection and stereo that appealed to our crowd from 34 to 64 years old. Only vacation I have ever had where we never bought ice, there were 10 cube trays in the freezer and a small stand alone ice maker in the dining area as well. Several coolers for use too. We never turned on a tv, no need with all else there. Only issues were the property manager had told me to meet him at the governors harbor airport (we flew in to ELH) for directions to the house between 4:30 and 5. When we got there at 4:45 he was no where to be found. One of the locals called him and relayed directions to us 3rd hand that were pretty close. Somebody helping was always another plus though, all the locals are more than happy to answer dumb questions, give directions, help out etc. Great folks. While the beds and linens were great, sleeping through the night was difficult. There are at least 3 roosters next door that start crowing on and off between 2 and 3 in the morning and continue past daylight. At least one of them seemed to be just outside the bedroom windows every morning. My wife figured out to run the a/c on high fan all night at the end of the trip and drowned em out enough they only woke us up a couple times. When folks said the no see ums were bad we kinda shrugged it off, having been born in coastal Fl and dealing with them all our lives. Believe it, they are bad. If the wind wasn't blowing we couldn't sit on the deck and watch the sunset for more than 10 minutes without getting run inside. Once it's dark it's just a few skeeters that OFF will keep away but late in the afternoon it's way bad buggy. My wife had an allergic reaction to the sand gnats and got red bumps all over where she was bit. After about 3 days we said she had the Bahamian measels ...

Heavenly!

We absolutely LOVED the Blue Moon property!!! The color and clarity of the water was like nothing else on this Earth (literally)! Snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and viewing were simply amazing! Some of our sunset pictures off the deck are postcard worthy! Howard, the owner, was happy to queue us in on beaches to visit and answered all of our questions prior to the trip (personal tour guide of sorts). We recommend a higher profile vehicle to access the beaches, and maybe ear plugs as the roosters who live next door are quite vocal. Bug spray when visiting the beaches and post sunset was a necessity. We suggest bringing a fair amount of cash, since food is expensive and credit cards have a large surcharge. Safety never seemed to be an issue. I would highly recommend Blue Moon!!! One more interesting experience was to meet up with the fishermen when they came in at around 3. We purchased parrot fish which we tried both grilled and fried in butter (no breading). Delish!

Great Family Vacation in Eleuthera-2019

Our family of 9 had a wonderful time at BlueMoon. The location is perfect if you want some privacy. The unusal layout of the house worked perfectly for our group. We had everything we needed and wanted including the standalone ice maker. The cove is well protected for normal wind directions and the beach in South Palmeto is beautiful. The caretaker, Mr. Dixon, was very responsive and helped us out greatly when the bridge was out of commission on our departure day.

amazing stay at Blue Moon

we totally enjoyed our stay at Blue Moon this past July the 30th.Our group of 7 had plenty of room to spread out .We all enjoyed being able to get right into the water & swim & snorkel.The sunsets were beautiful.The bright yellow wooden deck furniture was awesome.Plenty of seating for all of us.The location was great,close to gas stations,resturants ect.I could go on & on but I guess I better not try to write a book.HA HA.I would recommend Blue Moon to anyone & I hope to come back again some time.Peggy W.from Texas

Anfitrión: Howard Mills

Bluemoon is owned by the Mills brothers and their wives. Jeff and Ulrika Mills live in California, Phoebe and Howard Mills live on the coast of South Carolina. We purchased the home from the original owner Ross Rogers , Mr. Rogers is an Architect from Canada and he built the home in the 1970s for his family. He and his family enjoyed many wonderful years on Eluthera. Mr.Rogers was an avid gardener, hence the beautiful tropical gardens!

This house is perfect for a large family, the floor plan is layed out like the letter L with the long part of the L being a row of bedrooms each with a sliding glass door that opens up to the amazing blue carribean ocean view. The shorter part of the L being the kitchen , dining, living room area and the middle of the L is the decking ,looking out over the turquoise carribean ocean! This house was designed and built by the original owner and Architect Ross Rogers.
