The Commodore West is the perfect large group vacation destination. This 5-bedroom 4 bath beach front beauty has all the elements needed for a fabulous beach vacation. Be sure to check out the "Rachel", a schooner that ran aground in 1923 and has been parked in front of the Commodore ever since.

The first level of this duplex features incredible views with a wall of windows. When you are seated at the massive dining table, you'll be able to dine with a great view. There is additional counter seating so everyone can enjoy mealtime together. The kitchen has a unique, large prep counter for those nights when you are staying in for dinner. Or it can serve as a convenient buffet counter for casual dining. You'll be pleased to discover all new hard surface flooring, granite, stainless steel appliances and interior paint throughout.

There is also a large pantry, washer and dryer and full bath on this first level.

Head to the second level and you'll find the master suite. A king size bed and balcony access make this the perfect retreat. The full bath features a garden tub, double vanity, stall shower and private water closet.

Also on the second level are two king rooms that share a hall bath.

Continue on to the third level and you'll discover the bunkroom and another room with a king bed. The bunkroom houses two twin/twin/twin bunks and a full/full bunk with a twin trundle.

Perfect place for multi family

We had 4 families with kids stay. It was a great house to fit all of us. Loved that we were sure to on the beach and the kids could easily walk up to the house by themselves.

Excellent vacation

Commodore West checked all of our boxes. We loved being right on the beach and the covered porches were amazing! We enjoyed watching the dolphins cruising the sand bar and saw lots of marine life. The only complaints we had were some places in the house were not the cleanest but it was nothing to ruin our fun. We would definitely stay here again.

short time at the beach

this property is great and right on the beach, lots of room, porches were nice. The only thing I didn't find there was a blow dryer, I'll remember to pack one next time. Our puppies loved the beach!!

It’s always a great day on the beach

House was great. Access to beach is awesome. Property management is great to work with, I made a new friend. But the stairs are a little much for older folks. Lots of memories made.

Lots of stairs at the beach

Great location but neighborhood was unkept. Property needed some upkeep especially on the decks. Plenty of space for our group.

Spring break 2023

Thank you!! We really enjoyed our stay! The home was spacious, with plenty of room for everyone to gather or they could spread out if they needed their own space. The kitchen had everything we needed for large family meals. The porch was perfect for unwinding every evening and the short walk to the beach was absolutely incredible!! Can't wait to come back!

great beach vacay!

This was a great house for our crowd! Beds were comfortable, ample bathroom space and the house was clean. Loved the big table where we could eat meals together and play games! Kitchen was well stocked w utensils, cookware, bakeware, cutting boards and even small appliances like blender and hand mixer*. Next time we visit, I would love to see hooks in the bathrooms for enough towels and bathing suits for the number of people possibly using each bathroom. We'll be back :)

Great Multi-Family Stay

This was a GREAT spot without much traffic on the beach. We had three separate families with plenty of space. Everyone was able to enjoy each other on the main level and still have plenty of room for quiet time when needed. We had all ages and everyone had a great time. A large family with lots of kids showed up next door on the final two nights and we didn’t hear anything through the walls so don’t let the duplex change your mind. I would love to return and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway:)

Perfect for us!

This getaway was for me and my 2 adult children and their children and we had some friends making it 12 in all, a few ended up not coming.:( The house was well furnished and very roomy! Flights of stairs in this unit but we’ve had this before with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms needed for our large group! Right on the beach and beautiful views from inside the house! I so enjoyed the French doors in the master bedroom opening to the porch with rocking chairs to sit in and watch the ocean and listen to the waves crashing! And it was very private so no crowds on the beach! It was a great place to make lasting memories ❣️

It was a beautiful home and a great location

Great family beach vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We all loved the house right on the beach. The house was terriffic, a lot of stairs so be ready for that. Very quiet area which was great for our family. We took our dog so being able to take him to the beach made our stay wonderful. The house was clean, could've used more towels in the kitchen and bathrooms. Keeping up with sandy floors is always a challenge, that's beach life 😂. Overall the vacation was amazing, kids and grandkids had a great time, we were all very happy with the house and especially is location. Thanks.

Great house and location

The house was great our only problem was the air was out on 2nd and3rd level. Had to call everyday. The property managers did not follow up very well. We got air the last night we were there. I would definitely stay there again. My problem was not so much that the air was out although we didn’t sleep very well but that I read a comment that there was air problems 2 weeks before we arrived. I know you can not predict those things I just think whoever is supposed to check on those things did not follow through. My family and I had a wonderful time despite the air issues. We can’t wait to go back.

The Commodore West

The location was great - right on the beach! Quiet, not alot of people around. Would be nice if there was a wooden walkway built to just beyong the sand dune. Was a little tiresome trek getting to the water! One thing was the AC was having a hard time keeping up. There wasnt adequate blinds/curtains on the windows to help reflect the heat/help keep the house cool. (The main cooling problem was in the Master bedroom...) So you were super hot outside and came into a warmer than normal house! The manager offered to have the repairman come but we determined it was just hot outside and we dealt with it.

Perfect!! The best stay we have had at the beach!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was perfect! I was not aware that it was a shared property but we didn’t have any issues. And just so others are aware it is three levels. We thought the ground level was considered one level but it is not, so the living room kitchen is the first level, then another flight of stairs to the second level with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, then another flight of stairs with the other 2 bedrooms and a bath. One of our company had to sleep on the couch because of some medical issues, she couldn’t navigate that many stairs. But overall it was perfect!! We loved the neighborhood, we loved the location, we loved that it wasn’t crowded or very many people. We loved it being right on the beach. It really was perfect!! The kitchen had anything you would need to cook anything. Everything was very nice!! It was only about 15-20 minute drive from Gulf Shores to eat or shop or whatever you wanted to do. We would recommend this place to anyone (unless they have health issues and can’t climb stairs) Best Spring Break ever!!!
