The Commodore West is an exceptional beachfront retreat designed for large families and groups. This spacious 5-bedroom, 4-bath duplex offers everything you need for an unforgettable beach vacation, including breathtaking Gulf views and direct access to the sugar-white sand.
Just outside your door, you’ll find a piece of local history — the Rachel, a schooner that ran aground in 1923 and has remained in front of the Commodore ever since. It’s a unique landmark and a fun sight to explore during your stay.
First Level – Open Living with Stunning Views
The first floor welcomes you with a wall of windows showcasing spectacular ocean views. Gather around the large dining table and enjoy meals with a view or take advantage of the additional counter seating so everyone can dine together comfortably.
The well-appointed kitchen features a generous prep island, perfect for cooking family dinners or setting up a buffet for casual meals. Guests will appreciate the hard-surface flooring throughout, granite countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.
Also on this level, you’ll find a full bathroom, a large pantry, and a washer and dryer for added convenience.
Second Level – Private and Comfortable Sleeping Spaces
The primary suite is located on the second floor and offers a king-size bed and private balcony access, making it a peaceful retreat after a day at the beach. The ensuite bath includes a garden tub, double vanity, walk-in shower, and private water closet.
Two additional king bedrooms are also located on this level and share a spacious hall bathroom.
Third Level – Perfect for Kids and Extra Guests
The third floor features another king bedroom and a large bunk room designed for maximum sleeping capacity. The bunk room includes two twin-over-twin-over-twin bunks, one full-over-full bunk, and a twin trundle — ideal for kids or group stays.

Property was as advertised. Views of the beach were terrific and beach access was right off the underneath patio. Beach was not crowded and very clean.The house was very comfortable, but there were some minor maintenance issues that need to be resolved.

We had a nice stay at The Commodore West! The house and location were accurately described, and Coastal View Vacations was great to work with throughout our trip.The layout was perfect for our large group, with plenty of beds, bedrooms, and bathrooms for everyone. The kids absolutely LOVED the bunk room, and having ample parking space underneath the house was a plus. While the home has had some nice updates, a few other areas could use a refresh—including the dishwasher, which wasn't working during our stay (though maintenance was scheduled to look into it).Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we enjoyed our time here!

Great Family Vacation
Rating Details:
The property manager was very helpful.
The vacation rental was clean.
I was very happy with the location.
I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.

We had a great family vacation. I love having this time with my children and grandchildren. This is the third time we have stayed in this house. The only suggestion that I have is we have teenagers in the bunk room, so they like to sleep later. It would be nice to have curtains in that room. Sometimes the 3rd floor is a little on the hot side. If the couch gets replaced it needs a U shaped couch so more people can sit. Overall we love the house and the layout. The cleaning service did not do as good a job this year as they have in the past, but I am picky about baseboards and such. Of course it is the end of the season and I'm sure they will do a deep cleaning at the end of the summer season. I will always recommend this house.

We had a wonderful time. I stayed with my children and grandchildren. It is a great place to stay.

Wonderful property! Plenty of kitchen items! Loved the space! Practically no one on the beach!
First famiky vacation in 20+ years! Enjoyed having family in such a spaceous place. Great location! Had a blast!

Right on the beach
The property was just what we were looking for. Right on the beach, tons of space and quiet. We will definitely be back!

Perfect place for multi family
We had 4 families with kids stay. It was a great house to fit all of us. Loved that we were sure to on the beach and the kids could easily walk up to the house by themselves.

What great property!!! We had parents, teens and small ones, age 4-10. We had plenty of room for all. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had all we needed. Nothing bad to say about any part of the home. Views were just like the pics....step out the door onto the beach. Loved it all and would recommend to anyone with a large group.

Family group of twelve had a wonderful time just steps from the beach! The view was perfect and the beach was uncrowded. The house was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked for everything we needed. We hope to return in the future!

Excellent vacation
Commodore West checked all of our boxes. We loved being right on the beach and the covered porches were amazing! We enjoyed watching the dolphins cruising the sand bar and saw lots of marine life. The only complaints we had were some places in the house were not the cleanest but it was nothing to ruin our fun. We would definitely stay here again.

short time at the beach
this property is great and right on the beach, lots of room, porches were nice. The only thing I didn't find there was a blow dryer, I'll remember to pack one next time. Our puppies loved the beach!!

It’s always a great day on the beach
House was great. Access to beach is awesome. Property management is great to work with, I made a new friend. But the stairs are a little much for older folks. Lots of memories made.

Lots of stairs at the beach
Great location but neighborhood was unkept. Property needed some upkeep especially on the decks. Plenty of space for our group.
