Make yourself comfortable at **Captain's Quarters**, a private two-bedroom apartment on the **third floor of a three-story building** in scenic Auke Bay. With mountain and ocean views, a southwest-facing balcony, full kitchen, private living space, parking, and convenient access to local businesses and outdoor activities, this apartment is a comfortable home base for exploring Juneau.

The apartment includes two bedrooms, with one queen-sized bed and one full-sized bed, along with a full bathroom, living room, dining area, and private balcony. The kitchen is equipped with an oven and range, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, cookware, and other essentials for preparing meals. A Smart TV provides streaming entertainment, and coin-operated laundry is available in the building.

The location is particularly convenient for travelers interested in exploring Auke Bay and the surrounding area. The apartment is approximately 1.5 miles from the Juneau Ferry Terminal, 3.5 miles from the airport, 5.5 miles from Mendenhall Glacier, less than a mile from the University of Alaska Southeast, and 11.5 miles from downtown Juneau.

Perfect location for all that is Juneau

Loved the location, comfortable condo, fresh towels, amenities and kitchen well stocked with all you need. We were there for a week and saw seals and eagles in the bay!!!

Super cute place to stay! All the comforts of home. Excellent location. Easy to enter and property as described. This was our second visit to this property and we will stay again in the future.

Great place to stay while working from out of town. Pricing, amenities, and communication is far better than anything you get from a hotel.

Great visit with family and new grandchild.

This stay was perfect for ease of access, cleanliness and location. Was just right for our needs. Would have been nice to have more screens on windows to allow for fresh air at night, but everything else was amazing!

Glad we stayed here

This is a nice, 2 bedroom place. We especially liked being able to look out at the harbor from the living room windows. When we walked out on the docks we saw eagles and a family of seals. Everything about this place was just as expected and would rent again.

Wonderful Stay

This was one of the best stays we've had in recent memory. The entire experience was so well managed. Kelly with Captain's Quarters was proactive, responsive and kind when she reached out. Check-in and out were well-explained and didn't ask us to do too much. Essentially, a breeze. We couldn't have had a better experience. Thanks again for the wonderful experience. Lastly and most importantly what an AMAZING VIEW to wake up too every morning. We will be back!!

July 2-4 2023

This accommodation and location were perfect for us. Auke Bay has lots going on with an active fishing community, a few luxury yachts and tour center for whale watch fleets. Our room had a great view of all of the port activity and yet was quiet and comfortable. The unit itself was decorated with a whimsical nautical theme and had everything we needed for our 2-night stay. The designated parking spot was a huge plus. Forbidden Peak Brewery, a small tackle and grocery store and several restaurants are within a short walk. I definitely would consider staying here again.

Nice place

Overall the place was nice. The floors were a little slopped and it was musty at first. Great view of the harbor and lots of Eagles to watch. The location made it easy to catch any water excursions. Good little restaurant right next door with really good milk shakes. It is on the third floor and there is no elevator. Luckily we only had to carry our 50 pound bags up once.

Pictures can be deceiving

We didn't expect it to be fancy. It's not but it was clean. The climb up the stairs was challenging for the 72 year old. The bad thing that occurred happened the first evening we were there when the toilet plugged and no matter how much I plunged it, it was plugged. When i contacted the manager i was told we must of put something in that shouldn’t have been there. She sent me info on a plumber that I could hire. We didn't misuse the toilet and it was unreasonable to expect me to pay for a plumber.

The property is older, built in the 1980s, but the kitchen, bathroom and floor was remodeled three years ago including a new oven. The unit is on the third level of the building so it can definitely be a challenge for those with mobility issues, but the height does allow for an amazing harbor and Mountain View. We provide a good toilet plunger in the case it is needed. A plugged toilet is usually operator error. I always say to flush often and no need to wait until the end of the event. We did let this guest know that if something fell into or otherwise went into the toilet other than human waste and toilet paper that they might need a plumber and we provided the phone number. This is an older style toilet so water pressure is not a problem, and it has gravity in its favor, since it's a floor mount toilet with the plumbing going down three levels. Most of the time when people use too much toilet paper and not enough water, it can eventually be plunged instead of paying $350 for a plumber which is what it would cost on a Sunday in Juneau. Apparently they must have been able to plunge it free because it was not plugged when the cleaner went there upon checkout. I think we will create a sign to help people understand how to use and flush a toilet. We have 34 units and we do get a plugged toilet complaint in a unit about once a year (it's never been the same toilet as far as I can remember). I can only imagine that they must be plugging their toilets at home, too.

Captains Quarters Top Notch

The view of Auke Bay was beautiful and interesting with boats coming and going all the time. The unit was just like a small apartment with everything we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to cook many of our meals there. Most of all, it was spotless in all the rooms. We had one issue and contacted Scott, the owner, and it was fixed the same day. The living room didn’t have enough comfortable seating but the owner indicated they will be changing that before the next rental. It was easy to find and get into the unit. My granddaughters and I all agreed we would rent this place again as we were happy with the location and the unit. One thing that I didn’t realize was the unit was listed for 4 people and I thought the price listed was for four. The price is for two and there is an additional charge per night per person for extra people. This was stated in the information but not at the same place as the rental charge. Just something I missed when booking. Kelli and Scott were great to rent from. Very responsive.
