Located in the heart of the Glacial Lakes Region, just a few blocks from downtown Webster and about an hour from both Aberdeen and Watertown, Tails Up Retreat is a cozy, pet-friendly escape built for both comfort and outdoor fun.

• Fish & Game Cleaning Shack: A heated 12’x20’ shack in the backyard makes prepping your catch clean and easy.

• Firepit Fun: Kick back in Adirondack chairs around the Solostove on the concrete patio (firewood available nearby).

• Spacious Living Room: Relax with a 65” smart TV, recliners, and plenty of space for the whole crew.
• Modern Kitchen: Fully stocked with everything you need, plus a coffee bar featuring locally roasted beans.
• Sleep Soundly: Two bedrooms upstairs share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, while the basement doubles as a master suite with a king bed and full bath.

Great weekend in Webster

Had a great weekend in Webster. This place was great for the kids and the dogs! Plenty of space to relax inside and out. It has a very quiet location, comfortable rooms and a nice back yard for the dogs and kids to play in. The deck is nice and clean with a very cozy table to eat at. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!

Great place to stay! Has everything of home and more! Very very convenient to get to from where we were fishing! The house is very clean and has lots of room for of our stuff! Sam is great to work with! This was our third time in four years. Was great every year!

Wonderful place, and very nice owners.

We’ve used the Tails Up Retreat 3 years in a row. Wonderful accommodations and the folks that own it are extremely nice. As long as I’m in Webster, I’m staying at Tails Up Retreat!

Tails Up Retreat house was excellent!!

Definitely a 5-star place in Webster, SD. The accommodations were very neat, clean and easy to use. Nice "cleaning house" in the backyard and the outdoor area was complete with grill and blackstone. My husband had to call the owner about something and he returned his call promptly. We will be using this house again in the future!!

Does not disappoint

Super clean and quiet. Fresh paint, very well stocked with everything. Kitchen was fully stocked. No amenity was spared. Amazing property. Easily, this was the best VRBO we've ever stayed at.

Excellent Lodge

We had a wonderful stay at Tails Up! Ages ranged from grandfather to an 11 year old and our hunting dogs. The place was so clean! They provide amazing coffee and hot chocolate for the kiddos! Loved being able to turn the dogs out in a fenced in backyard!

Extremely nice place for our group of fishermen

By far the cleanest, most efficient place we’ve ever stayed! The owners have thought of everything to make this place comfortable and great. The on site fish cleaning station is super handy and the garage and driveway are set up nice for boat parking. The owner responded immediately to any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again!

Sam, Olivia, Elaina, Elliott & George(Standard Poodle) are excited to welcome you to Webster, SD. We are a local Webster family and hope to offer you a clean, quality, and comfortable stay while you visit the area. Sam works in product development for a corn genetics company and Olivia works in animal health. Sam spends quite a bit of his time on the road for work so he understands the importance of feeling at home while traveling. Our daughter, Elaina, was born in July of 2021 and provides us with our daily dose of smiles and laughs as her sweet personality shines. Our son, Elliott, was born in November of 2023 and continues to bring us joy everyday. We enjoy getting to know our guests and providing quality, warm hospitality in the Webster area.
