Located in the private gated community of Costa Esterillos Estates. This property is 10 mins drive to beautiful and uncrowded expansive beaches of Esterillos. The house is nestled in primary rainforest jungle where you can enjoy your morning coffee poolside overlooking the private infinity pool and waterfall, and dramatic mountain Jungle views, while listening to the scarlet macaws, toucans, amazon parrots, visiting monkeys and other wildlife in the area. You can usually hear the ocean in the distance from the expansive pool and deck area. Esterillos Estates features 13 kilometers of cobblestone roads, lamp posts throughout and 24 hour security at the entrance offering miles of safe hiking and walking through the jungle foothills with scenic mountain, jungle and ocean views. The house is conveniently located within a 2 hour drive of San Jose airport with 10-15 minute drive to numerous restaurants, mini supermarkets, many beachfront activities including surfing , horseback riding, waterfalls, zipline tours, fishing tours at 2 major marinas nearby and many other activites and amenities. For more activities, restaurants and nightlife, Jaco and Playa Hermosa are a quick 20-25 mins away, while one of Costa Rica's best National wildlife reserves Manuel Antonio in Quepos is a 45 min drive.

Beautiful location with lots of wildlife, secure and safe, pool was amazing, views were incredible. Honestly a beautiful stay. AC was a life saver A few notes: The washing machine was super slow, the waterfall is scheduled and was nice at first then became annoying quickly. Our last night before we left the power went out which really sucked with ac or able to do anything and we left the next day but it was out for 20 hours for sure if not longer so services are much slower than what were used to. Overall amazing and would absolutely stay there again!

Wonderful stay in Esterillos

The villa was exactly as portrayed in the pictures on vrbo. It was an ideal location for our family. The kids loved the pool. There were lots of bird sightings including scarlet macaws, toucans and animal life. The service from the management team was excellent as was the communication from the host. The beach and restaurants were just a few minutes away and we had all the privacy in the world. We highly recommend this place.

Amazing Property

Such a wonderful place to relax! A quick 5ish minute drive to a lovely beach with the property itself being nestled in a secure area in the jungle. We were a group of 5 with 2 couples and a child. The house was big and we were all able to have our own space and our own bathrooms. Loved the pool and sitting out on the deck throughout the day. Wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Excellent Property

We had a wonderful vacation at this rental. We were three adults and had lots of space and privacy. There is a beautiful outside area with pool and various sitting areas where we spent most of our time enjoying the wildlife and birds. The communication with the host and property management was great. Host provided lots of information on the property and the location as well as information on tours available and the property management was very responsive regarding any questions. We would definitely stay at this property again.

First trip to Costa Rica

I can’t say enough about this home and location! Rent a car and explore Costa Rica the right way. So much to do and explore we could have stayed another week, easily and wish we could have! The beaches super close with great surf and restaurants too many to try. The people were too nice and the property management team always checked on us to make sure we were have a great time. They even helped book a couple things for us. 10/10 recommend staying here, we WILL be back! Pura Vida!

Nice house, but location limits amenities.

Nice house. Pictures accurate. But location puts you 1/2 hour from Jaco or Parrita and normal grocery. Also, only 1 TV and it runs on WiFi only. And the wifi package slows down if you use it too much. And if it rains, it goes out. Owner doing everything possible. But subdivision has too few houses to give normal amenities like cable or high speed internet. You are 15 minutes down the mountain just to get a coke. If you want to be secluded and cook all your meals and like it quiet to read. This is your paridise.

We have since installed a much faster new Satellite internet service.. In future we will do a better job screening guests.. The description in our listing very clearly says that we are a 10 minute drive to Beaches, restaurants and two well stocked grocery stores.. If you are looking to be closer to the noise and bustle of Jaco you should definitely not choose a Jungle retreat..

Perfect vacation

Everything was perfect. It was our 4 trip to costa rica and we always stayed in this neighborhood/gated community but I have to say this property was our favorite. the home itself is gorgeous. The grounds well maintained and the pool wow! The view on the jungle even more wow!! I got up around 6 and went for walks with my daughter in law almost every morning and what a joy that was. So much to see; perroquets, toucan’s, iguanas, monkeys, coaties, ant’s crossings with leaf’s on there back (incredible) and of course all kinds of other birds 🥰 We saw a lot of these right from the pool or on the grounds. The inside is beautifully decorated. The kitchen is well stocked and as everything you need to cook great meals (we love to cook). Meals that we always had outside were Derek and Laura put a nice table with a gazebo over it. What a pleasure to hear sounds of nature while enjoying a family dinner or playing games. It’s only been a week since we got back and I miss it already. The neighborhood is safe and very easily accessible. You are about 10 minutes from esterillos oeste beach, 20 to playa hermosa and 25@30 to jaco. Beaches were you can find surf for every level. For groceries you have in esterillos oeste(10minutes) or esterillos centro(20minutes) or jaco 25@30 minutes. You can find everything you need to cook and/or drink. Jaco is more touristy, while esterillos is more quiet and local. So depending on your mood there is something for everyone. When they say Pura Vida it’s really what Costa Rica is all about. Can’t wait to be back (next Christmas 🥳) Thank you Derek, Laura and Christina for sharing your home with my family.

Jungle Retreat

The property was beautiful and the property manager was extremely helpful. They set up some excursions for us and were quick to reply when we needed something. Would recommend this property to anyone.

This place was just perfect. Best part of the trip.

The property is VERY nice. We laved doing yoga next to the pool in the morning, swimming a bit, and then using the barbecue and gazebo for dinner in the evening. The house is absolutely gorgeous. It's SO much better than overpaying for a hotel. The estate gives you a pretty good sense of security and we also loved the nearby beaches and towns.

Your own private jungle oasis

The location of this home is really unique. It feels remote yet you're only about 10 minutes from anything you may need. The grounds and surrounding jungle are lush and tropical. The wildlife is a definite highlight. We had a large troop of squirrel monkeys come to visit us off the back deck several times. We saw howler monkeys across the street and several coatis in the trees nearby. There were lots of iguanas around the property also. Of course this is the jungle so we saw plenty of creepy crawlers as well. It's all part of the jungle experience, right? The house is well laid out and nicely furnished. The air conditioning units work well and it was great having access to a washer and dryer. We had spotty wifi/internet service but that was typically only during heavy rains. We did experience some issues with the electricity, but the owner (Derek) and the property management team did everything in their power to get the situation resolved and ensured we were well taken care of during the outage. Their communication and customer service was top notch. The property managment team also set up some excursions for us. They arranged an ATV ride to a waterfall and zip lining through Los Suenos Adventure Park. Highly recommend both activities. They also arranged to have a private guide meet us at Manuel Antonio National Park. Our guide, Andres, was amazing at spotting wildlife and extremely informative, enhancing our overal experience at Manuel Antonio. Lastly, the house guidebook was extremely helpful. We appreciated all of the information about the house and the surrounding area. Two favorite restaurants of ours were: Alma and Vida Hermosa. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. Pura Vida!

Am enchanting stay!

We went to Esterillos with 2 children’s ( 0and 3) and the grandparents. The house was just perfect with the 2 bedrooms downstairs with their own complete bathroom + the big bedroom upstairs. It is fairly accessible with any vehicule, in a very secure community. A/C in every room, very clean, and with anything you would need in the kitchen. What we enjoyed the most is the back deck with the pool from where we could sit and enjoy the view of the forest and even watch the monkeys jump from tree to tree. It is located within 10 minutes of the beach (for real) and there are a few good restaurants that we liked to go within this 10 minutes range too.The property manager was very responsive, as well as Derek and Laura who answered all My questions. We are already recommending this house to our family and friends and would go back anytime.
