Rustic Farmhouse Style Casita Retreat on Horse Property

Our rustic farmy little casita (approx. 180 sq. ft) boasts a custom build interior with brand new everything inside. Super cozy and comfy! Fairly forewarned, the shower is small. It is tiled, has a rain-head and on demand hot water but it is small. Most guests love the property so much they don’t mind.

We are located on 18 acres with horses and hiking trails, it’s perfect for quiet getaways, travelers passing through, artistic exhale and of course tourists wanting to take in the many attractions nearby. An awesome place for a recharge! We enjoy offering a variety of meal options as well as on the ground horse experiences tailored to your abilities and desire.
The casita is stocked with complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and drinks. We are within ½ hour from Ruidoso’s many attractions, Old Lincoln’s historic sites, beautiful hiking spots or simply stay on property to revive and restore.

Absolutely wonderful

We have stayed there before and loved it so we went back for our 2nd anniversary because it as so cozey and romantic. The perfect place for couples to reconnect. She was so great to communicate with and i loved the personalized card that i can keep forever.

Cozy Accommodations

We enjoyed the nice, quiet accommodations- nice view with very comfortable outdoor furniture. Host directions were spot on and getting in and out of the property was very easy! Great location to explore Lincoln NM and Fort Stanton!! Easy drive to Ruidoso!

Beautiful, quiet and relaxing.

June 14 - 16 2024: Melissa hosts a special, peaceful spot. It is as attractive to stay put and enjoy the immediate surroundings as it is to take shorter excursions. This location is a short drive to Ruidoso and other historic and scenic attractions in this part of New Mexico. The horses are beautiful. The accommodations were nice and cozy. Nothing distracted from the country ranch setting. My wife and I can very much recommend this destination. It's a well deserved 5 stars.

Home away from home

Great place, Melissa is a wonderful host. Beautiful scenery, and meeting the horse, dogs and Melli on the property were highlights. The casita is perfect, and really feels like a home away from home. I enjoyed my stay here and will be coming back.

Amazing little place

This place is a nice little place. Very nice. Only thing was shower is small. But other than that it was amazing. Cabin was cozy.

New Mexico Getaway

This place is exactly what I was looking for, peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful country. The host is very friendly, polite and accommodating. The casita is clean and well put together. The night sky is incredible! Perfect place to unplug and explore the Lincoln National Forest. Highly recommend.

Peaceful

Beautiful and quiet property tucked in the hills of Hondo. The only reason I Icouldn't give it 5 stars is the very tiny shower. Stayed labor day weekend. We wanted to be around Ruidoso but because of the racing that weekend everything was crowded. This place was perfect, close enough for a short drive in but far enough to be out of the chaos.

Quiet, relaxing, valley stay

Amazing stay in the Hondo valley. Quick overnight stop but enjoyed quick hike behind property, meeting the animals, wonderful views of the valley. The small cottage was perfect size for 2 people with all the amenities we needed for our stay. Look forward to staying again on my next trip to Ruidoso!

Small and quiet

Beautiful property ✨ wonderful LITTLE casita. It was clean and cozy. We had a wonderful stay and the stars at nights were breathtaking. Out of the way but still close enough to explore.

Great Place to Stay

If you are looking for a nice little get away this is the perfect little place. The place is cozy with a nice view. My favorite part was being around the animals on the property. There are 3 horses, one donkey and 3 dogs. Olivia

This property is beautiful! The host is incredibly friendly, it was a pleasure staying there. My wife loved it and felt safe, this place is exactly in the pictures, very clean and if your considering staying here my wife and I definitely recommend it.

My hunny and I just spent our honeymoon here and it was so fantastic. This was very relaxing! Melissa was so helpful on giving us different suggestions on things, she was so great! God Bless this sweet place. It was wonderful and a memory we will cherish forever.

Peaceful Stay / Starry Night

Perfect stay for a couples getaway. Very beautiful view. Super clean with lots of hospitality from our host. Casita has homey touches with plenty of space for belongings. Away from the highway noise and crowd in Ruidoso, but not too far for a quick trip into town. Not hard to find at all. Looking forward to returning soon.

Utilizing my vast experience in boutique hotel management and restaurant management, hosting guests and events here at the ranch is such a pleasure! I am an equine coach, facilitating communication and energy between people and horses to help discover what a horse has to teach you about yourself. It’s experiential learning and it’s fun! I absolutely love offering a selection of equine experiences geared for each specific guest. Utilizing my background in culinary arts and cooking meals or preparing picnics for guests is also such a joy! I I am incredibly grateful.

Spend a day in town and come back to a beautiful quiet hideout. Some guests choose not to leave the property at all and settle into good books, visits with the horses and hikes out back. For travelers passing through, the property is gated and very safe. Enjoy restful overnight from driving and safe place to park your belongings.
