Short fishing trip

Very clean and well appointed property centrally located between Guntersville and Scottsboro. Note that the bedrooms are upstairs and the second bath is downstairs. No extra towels. Close to the highway may be a little noisy for light sleepers.

Short get away

My husband and I are on our way to the mid west for an annual deer hunt. Our son is working in a town near the cabin. We wanted to stop and see him for a couple of days. He stayed with us two of the three days we stayed. It was convenient to restaurants and groceries, as well as, exploring. The cabin is clean and comfortable.. The Carrs were very helpful and made us feel welcome

Cabin on the hill

The cabin on the hill was a nice retreat. The large yard was pleasant. The house was very nice. We enjoyed the fire pit. The location was near many hiking trails and state parks which was great for our family.

Great Cabin by the Lake

This is a beautiful cabin by the lake, that was very quiet and restful, yet very close to so many outdoor activities. We really enjoyed our stay!

Retreat from the rain

We came to the area for the music festival that was rained out by a hurricane. The house was just perfect. The area was beautiful and we saw lots of Alabama we have never seen before. The house is cozy and away enough from the lake but close enough to still enjoy.

Canvas Back Cabin

This is our second time staying in this house! It is absolutely perfect for us, boat ramp just a mile away with gas station right by ramp. Restaurants are about 16 miles away either directions Guntersville or Scottsboro. Would love to rent it in the spring for a whole month!

Cabin is as described as in the listing. Just a couple of things, there were light bulbs that needed to be replaced. It was super hot the weekend we were there. The air conditioning did not cool the upstairs where the bedrooms are. We were very thankful for the full size fans on the front porch as we used those upstairs to try to cool enough to sleep. There is not much water pressure in the upstairs shower. Other than that it was a great stay, beds are super comfortable.

A quiet getaway

We had a great time staying at this property. My favorite part was the fully enclosed porch area, our toddler was able to play safely while we relaxed on the comfortable porch furniture nearby. The grill on site was convenient and perfectly overlooked the fire pit where we spent one night roasting s’more and grilling. Everything was nice, clean and peaceful. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

This was such a clean and nice place for a few days fishing

No complaints. Great owners who have a very rustic place to rent. We really only used it for a place to park boat and shower and sleep but it’s secluded and we loved it! We will be back! Thanks Casey and Pat!

Nice place

The cabin was in a very nice location just off the lake with a nice yard, cabin itself was very fairly nice inside. Honestly our only complaint with the stay was there was dog hair everywhere.

Great cabin and inviting front porch.

This was supposed to be a quiet getaway for me and my girlfriend, unfortunately she was unable to make it. I enjoyed the rustic cabin very much, especially the big front porch. I spent as much time as possible out there. The kitchen was well equipped but didnt have a colander/strainer. The bedroom was nice and cozy. The mattress was a little firmer than I'm used to though. Overall it was a fun and much needed getaway. The hosts were great and responded greatly to my needs. Hope to return when my girlfriend can join me.

Canvasback Cabin Great Stay

We really enjoyed the cabin and the grounds. Lots of birds and front porch rockin'. Just what you need to relax. The road is noisy, but you get used to it and it's not intrusive. The house was clean and fun. The dishwasher doesn't work, but it is a cabin so handwashing the dishes went with the theme. The driveway needs work, it was a bit rough on our Tahoe and we weren't towing anything. Not only steep, but the rainy weather has put some ruts in the drive. All in all, a great home away from home. Got a couple of super craft ideas from the house. Thanks for those! Thanks, Carr Family!

Over all stay

Overall stay was good. Enjoyed being close to Waterfront store and dock area. The road going up to cabin was a little steep but was manageable. The porch cushions need to be upgraded as they had what seems to be dog hair on them but we used the rockers which was fine. We enjoyed our stay

Great private getaway

My buddies and I stayed the weekend for a golf trip and wanted to find a private cabin where we weren’t right on top of other people, and that’s exactly what we got with this property. A beautiful house with everything you need to cook meals at the house. We used the grill provided to cook steaks. There’s also a fire pit that’s great for relaxing around at night. 4k Smart tv with Roku in the living room for your entertainment needs. The water pressure in the shower is AMAZING. Not at all what you’d expect from a rental like this.

Annual Guntersville trip

We had a great stay. We take a yearly trip to Guntersville for bass fishing and this is the best accommodations we have had so far. It is located in a great location in middle of lake. The house is great and has everything you need. We hope to return next year.

NO PEACE AND QUIET HERE

We know this rental is used mostly by fishermen who only stay for a short period of time. Still, no one mentioned the noise level from the traffic on Hwy 79. It was awful. It was transports, gravel trucks that were the worst. We had to buy ear plugs to try and sleep at night because of the constant traffic on this highway. The windows in the two rental bedrooms face the busy highway, so no sound barrier. We sat on the porch to try and enjoy reading a book. Traffic noise interfered with that. Even the campfire at night, same thing. The beds were not comfortable. Not enough support. The TV was excellent, fridge/stove worked well. The dishwasher needs replacing. There was no toaster in this rental. We did find the 12-cup coffee maker. Glad there was a kettle to make our pot of tea each night. There are only two chairs for use at the dining table. The bench that is provided is great for kids. Missed not having screens on the upstairs bedroom windows. We like to sleep with a window open for fresh air. We were not allowed access to the bedroom closets. They were locked. We like to hang our clothes. No hangars provided. We loved the area and seeing green leaves plus flowers. We plan on returning to the Guntersville Lake area next year. All in all, this rental would have been ok for us except for the fact it is located above an extremely busy/loud Hwy 79.

Weekend Getaway

This cabin is absolutely beautiful! The Carrs were wonderful to speak with and the booking/check in process were a breeze. The property location was conveniently located between Guntersville and Scottsboro so accessing the areas sites were easy. Will definitely consider booking for another trip.

Beautiful home close to the water.

Beautiful home. Nice fire pit out back to relax and roast some hot dogs. Great indoor relaxation enviorment. Enough parking for boat or pontoon and close to water.
