Great family rental with room for everyone. The open floor plan has 8 bedrooms, 4 baths, three living areas, a game room, sun and shade decks, internet/wifi, and blu ray players for movie watching or accessing your streaming services. Fresh decor and new furniture throughout. Comfy memory foam mattresses in every room. Walk out the door and onto the beautiful beaches of St. George Island. Breathe, rinse, repeat.

Lots of Room

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property description was accurate. The place was clean and offered a lovely space to relax and enjoy the beach. The house is right on the beach with a short walk out the back door to the water. The two sun decks are very spacious. There is plenty of room to spread out inside with three living rooms, a game room, a really big dining room table, a few smaller eating tables, and two bars. There is full kitchen upstairs and a kitchenette (no stove) downstairs. The representative at Suncoast was very friendly.

Great family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had the best family vacation ever staying at the Pelican's Roost. The home was very clean and well stocked. Probably the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen. Decks were large and great for hanging out. The beds were comfortable It's a very short walk to the beach. We had some very spirited table tennis games!The only thing that we didn't like was the spiral stairs between floors. I would caution elderly people and small children to be very careful. There is another staircase on the outside to get to the second floor so there was no problem getting all our things upstairs. I would highly recommend the Pelican's Roost the next time you are in St. George Island.

Spring break vacation

We stayed here for spring break with our family ages 4-60 Some pros : the private beach access!! The layout was great for a large family . Game room area was awesome for the kids . Bedrooms were all great sizes and comfortable and clean . We saw many dolphins from the decks and the beach . Sunrises were spectacular. Sand toys umbrella and some chairs were available. Some cons: one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, only one roll of paper towel per kitchen, and no extra trash bags. Some nails in the decking that needed to be pounded in. The good definitely out weighed the bad. We would recommend this rental and would consider renting again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thank you for affording me the opportunity to provide feedback. This is the 2nd year in a row that we stayed at the Pelican Roost. Pros: location, size, price, and layout if bedrooms. Cons: kitchen supplies/lack there of (suggest more large pots, crock pot, pitchers, griddle), spiral staircase, no ceiling fans in bedrooms, no tables on upper deck, overall condition of wood on decks, no stairs from upper deck, all vents inside were filthy, dryer door does not stay closed (same as 2019). Aside from the structural suggestions which I realize may be cost prohibitive, adding some of the other things would make a difference. We had a fantastic vacation...great weather and great company. We have been coming to SGI for 6 years and love everything about the island. Would not recommend for anyone with small children or elderly due to the spiral stairs.

Perfect beachfront location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house has a great location on the beach. There are not many neighbors so it felt secluded. The house is great with 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a full kitchen upstairs, a kitchenette downstairs, 2 decks, a huge (10 or 12 person) dining table, 3 separate sitting areas, and a ping pong table. This is the perfect place for a large group. Some of the decor is dated but it serves it purpose. You will have a wonderful time if you stay here. The management company was easy to work with and they we’re always professional.

Thankful Thanksgiving in St. George

First Visit back since 1997

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Things have changed since I last stayed here in 1997. It's everything I remembered except for the road which was washed out from various past storms. A few things need attention, the railings are weathered and I got a few splinters from them and several light switches inside the house either don't work or go to nothing. Overall, we had an enjoyable time during our stay with my children and grandchildren and look forward to coming back again next year and future years.

Just needs some TLC

Be aware though if you have a large crowd that the water heaters are way undersized for the number of bedrooms, only one stove that partially worked, and issues with the AC that was fixed that day. Suncoast responded quickly and it was clean. The least maintained home in that area. Missing shingle, construction debris, basically just looks like a cheap rental home among beautiful beach homes. Of you don't care about how it looks, but need the space, then this is your place.

Good, but could be better.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I’ll start out by saying that there are some really good things about this house. It’s in an excellent neighborhood that is not crowded and was peaceful. The house is right on the beach, with a short path to the water’s edge. We also loved the layout of the house. The eight bedrooms and large gathering areas were perfect for our family. The four bathrooms were more than adequate. If possible, it’s a house I would not mind owning.However, there were some issues that cause concern. On a superficial level, the general cleaning was OK, but one of the bathrooms was missed. Also, dirty commode brushes are a no-no. Either leave a new one, or don’t leave one at all. The shower curtains are plastic and at least one contained mildew. They should have been replaced some time ago. The return vents were just plain dirty, as they are prone to be over time. They should have been cleaned thoroughly or replaced some time ago. It was OK, but could have been better. Also, the bathroom fixtures, towel racks, etc. were rusty with age. I realize this occurs due to the salty air, but these should have also been replaced some time ago. Also, the exterior needs a lot of work. When you look back at the house from the beach, it is in disrepair compared to the neighboring housed. But we knew that going in and that issue did not detract from our stay.The realtor was honest about the house and the price was indicative of what we were getting. I normally don’t’ even bother with reviews, but I found this house perplexing. With all that it has going for it, the essential repairs would simply not cost that much money. Having said that, I know that in today’s environment, it’s almost impossible to find people to do maintenance work. But it’s a shame, because this house has a lot of potential.Bottom line, I would stay in this house again, but only if the changes and repairs were done. But, if
