Historic apartment, meticulously restored, awaits you at the end of your journey. First of 3 townhouses restored in this 1906 4 plex building. Sitting on a private bluff, it offers stunning views of the Mississippi River from its rooms and front porch. Furnished with comfortable antique and vintage-style furniture complementing its construction date and your stay in Davenport’s Hamburg Historic District. Fully furnished full kitchen, separate dining and living rooms with a gas log fireplace. Second floor master bedroom with ¾ bathroom with extra-large shower. Second floor central full bath plus washer and dryer. Downstairs 1/2 bath powder room. Private parking lot behind the townhouse. Basement workshop, just let me know if you need to borrow some tools. Back yard with picnic table, seating, charcoal grill and supplies. Friendly, helpful owners live just one block away.
A few blocks walk from Davenport’s downtown and the Mississippi River front.
NOT a handicap accessible site due to topography and two-story interior.
Free Tesla destination EV charger (48 amps) available one block away.
Ten nights minimum stay, 10% discount for more than 28-night reservation. An additional 10% discount (which I will refund you after the reservation is made) if you rent adjoining townhouse as well. $100 fixed cleaning fee. PS..despite what the VRBO auto listing says the Rhythm City Casino has moved to Elmore Ave near the I80 interstate.

We rented 2 units for our month stay and we had the best time here! Check in was super easy, all of the accommodations were as stated, parking is very easy, an overall 10 out 10! Again, I recommend staying here at Jack's place, you will feel very comfortable and at home.

This historic townhouse was exactly what my family needed. The beautiful antique furnishings and restored interior provided a unique glimpse into the old charm of Davenport. Our host, Jack and his lovely wife, Marion, were very responsive and often anticipated our needs. Aside from a bit of dust, the home is well-maintained and equipped to accommodate numerous people. I would highly recommend booking with Jack!

Mississippi River

Great location. Very Clean, and comfortable. Jack is quick to respond and extremely helpful in all things Quad Cities, beyond just the property itself. Highly recommend a stay at this property overlooking the Mississippi.

GREAT HOST. EXCEPTIOAL ACCOMIDATIONS. We loved the restoration of this 1906 craftsman style townhouse and its adjacent units as well. The accommodations were modern, clean and of high standards. We loved walking the neighborhood and the observing the reclaiming and the restoration of these historical properties. Our host provided a historical guide as well which we carried in hand as we toured the area. Our stay at the townhouse was a major highlight of our time in Davenport.

I told the owner he has ruined me from ever staying in a hotel again! the place is awesome! the mix of the antiques and modern updating is spectacular. can't wait to come back!

Great Stay!

Stayed 9 nights. Historic neighborhood that is coming back. Parking is tucked away in back of the building and secluded from the street. It is very well restored with new touches in all the right places but it is true to its past. Half bath off the kitchen is nice, as are the 2 bathrooms upstairs. Beds are comfortable and air conditioning works very well. Kitchen well stocked and very responsive property owner.

Amazing

I cannot talk highly or recommend enough the stay we had at the townhouse we were there for 31 nights and enjoyed each and every day there, it was so comfortable and welcoming with a lovely feel about the place, the house the porch the garden were all amazing and Jack and Marion, I have not met two more lovely and accommodating people nothing was too much trouble they went above and beyond day in and day out for us and they were so lovely to chat to and get to know, we would not hesitate to go back again and again and wish them well and thanks so much for adding to our holiday and making it extra special

Charming historical home!

This townhome is a delight! It has been beautifully restored with all the right modern updates in all the right places. The kitchen is good sized, with a stove any chef would enjoy, and a small bar for socializing with the cook. The living room is open to the dining room and large enough to host a full family but still feel cozy and homey enough to curl up with a good book by the fireplace. Upstairs the main bathroom has a full washer and dryer. Bedrooms are furnished with antiques to compliment the home's origins. The master suite has a large shower and closet which have both been tastefully updated for peak modern functionality. As with any historic home it is in a neighborhood where some houses have yet to be restored and appear quite run-down. To me, this is all the more reason to choose to stay here, as it inspires investors to continue making improvements to the area. During our stay, Jack and his wife graciously gave us a tour of the connected townhomes, which are in the process of being restored, and a brief history of architecture in the area. The location in terms of proximity to attractions and restaurants is beyond ideal! We were within walking distance to the Freight House Farmer's Market, Mantra (our new favorite Indian restaurant), and Modern Woodman Park. For the younger crowd, or simply the young at heart, there were nearby parks and Poké Stops for Pokémon Go! Overall, our VRBO experience was a little slice of heaven! We were able to relax and feel at home without the stressors of home, and we are looking forward to staying again in the future!

YES! A must when staying in Iowa!

Let’s start with a quick synopsis for a short read… This place is amazing! Fantastic location, beautiful historic home with tons of space and every amenity a traveler could possibly need. The home is clean, comfortable and relaxing. Although the place is located on a main street it’s surprisingly quiet. The property is located well above street level giving a safe/secure feeling. The house is centrally located so I was able to travel from Chicago to Ames with ease and easy access to multitudes of close restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc. The owner, Jack & Marion, are beyond accommodating. Always available and very respectful of my privacy. If you love architecture and quality and want to stay around the quad cities, this property is a MUST!!

Restoring older homes is my passion.
I live one block south of this building and spend my time restoring my 1868 home which had been converted to 6 apartments in the 1940s and restoring this 1906 4-plex which had been converted to 8 apartments in the 1930s.
I also enjoy meeting my guests and helping make their stay in Davenport memorable.

Davenport's Hamburg Historic District's homes date from the mid 1800s to the early 1900s. It was the home to many of the early German immigrants that came to Davenport and founded many of its most successful enterprises.
It sits high on the hills over looking downtown Davenport and the majestic Mississippi River.

This 1,500 sq. ft townhouse is completely furnished to make your stay in Davenport more memorable.
It has a large back yard with a charcoal grill and seating under an old oak tree. It also has a large front porch with a spectacular of the Mississippi River.
It also has a large rear parking lot for 8 or 9 vehicles.
It is a short 7 block downhill walk to Downtown but that means a good uphill return.
Unfortunately due to geographical location and multilevel townhouse it is not handicap friendly.
