Above it All - Highest rental house on the hill!

This house, at 35 Janss Lane, is 5 homes from the very top of Wood Road, which runs up the center of the mountain. Our view incluces everything from Daly Peak to Sam's Knob, Big Burn, the Cirque, High Alpine and Elk Camp. The ski access takes you to the bottom of the SECOND lift, Coney Glade, letting you avoid all the crowds at the bottom of the mountain. With a week ski pass and groceries, you would enjoy incredible privacy - or you could go to Aspen and schmooze with the glitteratti. Easy ski-in access is just indirect enough to preserve your privacy - there are three alternatives to ski or walk out.

Four bedrooms with en-suite baths, all with mountain views - two kings, one twin, one quad. Sleeps 10. Hot tub accommodates 8 or more. Wireless high speed internet; all the usual TV and audio equipment. Weber gas grill on the deck.

The house was perfect for our family. The girls loved the single bed rooms on the lower floor. We loved hiking right out the door on the mountain trails. It was a little warm, especially in the upper bedroom on some sunny days but a fan helped circulate the the air from the lower floors. The house is not new but everything functioned great and the kitchen was well stocked. The host was easily contacted on text. We would return again!

Amazing house. Right on the mountain. Perfect for one large family or two families, kid friendly and very close to Snowmass base. I would highly recommend!

The house was great. Location can’t be beat. Views are amazing. We stayed in a few nights and enjoyed cooking in the well stocked kitchen. We will stay here again next time we’re in Snowmass.

Great vacation

This is a great house for a vacation in summer in terms of location, accommodation, convenience, and character. My family and friends enjoyed staying in it in July 2022.

Excellent house for our extended family. Big common area for gatherings plus isolated bedrooms if you want your privacy. Ski-in/Ski-out for intermediate skiers. Five minute walk for less confident skiers. Easy run down to major lifts and gondola. Hot tub was a great muscle relaxer every evening. Very responsive and friendly host.

Stellar ski vacation

Really enjoyed our stay. You definitely are one of the highest houses on the mountain. The hot tub gives you a stellar view of the resort. The host was super responsive and very helpful.

The perfect spot for a family vacation

We absolutely loved our time at this house. The house was beautiful, and the location could not be better. The spaces were perfect for hanging out with family. One of our favorite places we have rented. Highly recommend!

Another wonderful trip

This trip was our second to this home in Snowmass. It is a favorite of everyone, with easy access to the slopes, a big kitchen for cooking and a very comfortable great room. We recommend this home without reservation.

Family ski vacation

Exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and made for easy meal prep. The location was unbeatable which made for a relaxing family ski vacation. Kids and adults were all happy. Would definitely rent again.

Yearly Aspen Vacation

Property was great! We will hopefully be coming back to the residence again. A little updating may be needed but nothing that altered the vacation by any means! Everything was as expected and great!

AMAZING STAY..Top of the world

This is one of best places you can stay on Snowmass mountains. Everything went smoothly from the check-in, communication with the host, to check-out. We would have stay longer as the times went by so quick with you have loads of fun. It is a fantastic place with great views of the slope and mountains. Easy access, ski-in, ski out, the fireplace, and the hot tub, these are all make your vacation heaven! We had a blast and will be back from more.

Great Stay!

Property was amazing! Great location - ski down through the woods out the back of the house to the trail and back along the road to the front of the house. Kitchen is well equipped, hot tub was clean & spacious, great sleeping accommodations, and shared spaces. Only note is that the pull out couch in the basement wasn't all that comfortable for sleeping. Would definitely stay again, big thanks to Carol!

We call that the snorer's couch. We can sleep 10 without that couch. Maybe someday we'll get a bigger more comfortable one! Glad you enjoyed the house. We love it.

Beautiful Paradise

It’s our 4th summer vacation in Snowmass and our first time staying at Carol’s beautiful home. She is a text away with any questions and so nice!! It was the perfect home for our group ...spacious.. and cozy al in one. You are close to hiking trails, Aspen and everything beautiful. You know it’d a great vacay when you don’t want to leave ❤️

Fantastic mountain get away!

Our family of 9 stayed for a week enjoying the beautiful views from the deck and all the amenities Snowmass and Aspen offer. The house is situated up the mountain from Snowmass Village so it was very convenient driving down to attend the various events each night. The owner was very accommodating and helpful with ideas on what to do. We love cooking so we took advantage of the large kitchen and made some wonderful meals. We also went to quite a few great restaurants in the Village and Aspen. We highly recommend this house if you're looking for a home away from home and will definitely be back to enjoy it again!

The home is in a beautiful location with spectacular views, and the owner was kind in allowing us a later checkout. Unfortunately, we were surprised to learn that the comforters are not washed between guests; when we arrived, ours had visible stains. Had we known this policy in advance, we would not have rented the home. We also encountered several sanitation concerns, including fecal matter next to a toilet paper holder, a blood-stained left on a bathroom wall, visible mold in the master shower, and multiple surfaces that appeared not to have been properly cleaned. We expected a much higher level of cleanliness, and future guests may want to clarify bedding and cleaning practices before booking.

My husband and I, both physicians, bought this lot in 12 hours sight unseen when my brother, a local real estate agent, called to tell us that it had gone on the market. I grew up in the Aspen area, and knew how special this lane is. Even though we were not thinking retirement, both of our sons ended up going to college in the west, and this home that we built quickly became our favorite holiday haven. Skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, pack trips through the mountains, summer concerts - We love it all.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

For years we considered buying, because our family didn't fit well into my brother's or my mother's home. Not until the perfect lot became available did we consider buying and building. We look down at the valley AND up at the ski hill - on a special little ridge off Wood Road, where several of the very first homes were built. (Mr. Janss was the original developer of Snowmass.) With binoculars, you can see this house from every high point on the mountain.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The house is spacious and every bedroom has a view. The two 'kids'' rooms - 6 twin beds in two rooms with intervening rumpus area - are separated from the 'adult' king bedrooms by a whole floor, allowing privacy. The hot tub is on the lowest level with the kids rooms. The large deck is off the living-dining room kitchen. The steam shower and the Jacuzzi, inside, are good for tired bones, as well. The fully appointed kitchen makes large meals for many people an easy assignment. We have every book you never read in high school, as well as best sellers, thrillers and beach trash. And we have a piano.
