The Most Wonderful Place!

Starry Creek Ranch was the perfect spot for our multi-generational family. We had ages 4 to 71 and the single story home was just what we needed. We swam and cooked and played games and explored the property - it was the best!

Our group rented this as a place to stay for the Hico cookoff. Though a little farther from Hico than we would want, the place checks off all our boxes: enough beds and bathrooms, swimming pool, game room, beautiful view and hiking!!! We’ll definitely be back.

Starry Creek Ranch was just perfect for a long holiday weekend with family. The house is newer, spacious, comfortable and a perfect layout for multiple families or groups staying together (two master suites, kids bedrooms, multiple bathrooms). The house itself far exceeded our expectations. The pool was a hit with the kids and provided relaxation for everyone. The views are spectacular and sunset is beautiful. The stars at night are also stunning. My husband enjoyed fishing in the pond every morning and evening. We also loved the adventurous hike to find the Indian cavern — one of the highlights of our stay! This property is unique and the host has thought of every detail to make the stay comfortable and memorable— we will be back!

Howdy Friends!
This is Will and Nancy Hughes, owners of Starry Creek Ranch. We are both from military backgrounds but have spent the majority of our married life in Texas raising our children who are now adults. We have a history of traveling to unique places and enjoy adventures that take us off the beaten path. Our most recent venture included buying a hill country ranch on the spur of the moment during Snowmaggedon (nickname for the snow storm that hit Texas in 2021). While many were hunkered down for a long winter's nap, we were out finding the ranch of our dreams. And now, it is our pleasure to share this amazing discovery with you.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

As the owners of Starry Creek Ranch, we are blessed to have you as our guest and can't wait to share our secret treasure with you. When we first set eyes on this ranch, we were immediately captivated by its stunning vistas, hidden valley, and unique topography. We know that you too will see this as a special place of incredible beauty.

We hope our spacious ranch house and the natural wonder that surrounds it will inspire and refresh you. May this be a great time of enjoyment and renewal for you and your guests.

Will, Nancy, and the Hughes family

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Our ranch is deep in the heart of Texas, away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. Here, the stars are big and bright and you can get lost in the wonder of it all. Explore 95 acres of hill country land as you fish in our private pond, wade in our meandering creek, search for our hidden Indian cavern, or take a break at one of our scenic overlooks. End the day with a relaxing swim in our private hilltop pool, then watch the stars come out while enjoying some Texas size s'mores. All this and more awaits you as our guest at the Starry Creek Ranch.

We think big and we aim to please. If it's privacy you want, you got it. If you're craving an excursion, we'll help you create it. Don't be surprised to discover we are a good 30 minutes from most restaurants and stores, but that is the beauty of our unique location. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen awaits you as well as a host of amenities that will add to the comfort of your stay. And even though we are a bit remote, we are close enough to civilization to plan some wonderful day outings.

Take a one hour scenic drive to Waco to visit Magnolia Market (and see the Gaines farmhouse on the way). Or explore one of many artisan towns that are within 30 minutes of the ranch. With a little planning, big city adventures are also within your reach, with Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin just over two hours away. Don't forget to add golf, horseback riding, or a custom excursion of your choice to your plans to make your vacation truly unique.

One thing is for sure -- this is no cookie cutter location. It's a one of a kind ranch with enough natural beauty and charm to captivate your heart and hold a piece of it forever. Whatever you do, carve out enough time to just be -- to breath deeply and take in the beauty of this truly remarkable place.
