Luxurious 6 bedroom 8.5 baths and 6,150 square feet, mid-century modern home with a finished basement in the heart of Sevierville!!  House of the Rising Sun was designed by world-renowned Architect Hubert Bebb. Hubert Bebb’s earliest major project in Tennessee was the 1955 creation of a starkly modern viewing tower for the Clingman’s Dome overlooking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

There’s plenty of room for everyone at this sprawling property in Sevierville! The vacation rental boasts 6 bedrooms, 8.5 baths, and beautiful outdoor space with a private hot tub, all backdropped by serene views of Paine Lake and the Smoky Mountains. Our stay the last week of July was great. The home was great for our family of 11. The home is huge and the gazebo was great for hanging out. Our host Travis was one of the best we have ever had, he answered all questions very quickly. We would definitely stay here again!!

Enjoyed our stay. Host was very easy to message for anything and responded quickly. House is very well suited for multiple families and or groups. Loved the patio area, and sunroom the most . We were able to grill out and fish right from the back yard just a few feet away from the lake. Rooms were all a good size. Very close proximity to the main parkway and passed all the necessary shops and restaurants along the way- just a few miles from the front door. Great location. Will return.

This is a great house for those who cannot do stairs. It’s our second time staying here. Travis is easy to work with and attentive and quick to all correspondence made. I personally love the style of this house. It takes me back to childhood. There is plenty of room to spread out and relax. Also there is more than enough room to have dinner together or playing games at the big table. It met our needs both times staying here. Yes some things are old or dated but that adds to the charm of the house.

Overall, we were pleased with our time here & would consider coming back. The house is incredible, has a great location, & served our church group well.The only downside to this place is that it isn't being well maintained (probably because it is for sale). Some parts have been updated from the 1950s, but some have not. There are many little things that could be improved & better tended to:- The front door screen door hinge fell off when we first opened it (I repaired it). - An upstairs shower leaked into a basement bathroom (thankfully it dripped through the ceiling and into the sink). We reported it but don't believe a plumber ever came by to investigate during our stay. We simply stopped using that shower. - Hot tub was 85 degrees and took a few hours to warm up (all other rentals I've used had the hot tub at temp and ready). - Some light bulbs need replaced throughout the house. - Some of the light fixtures & window seals (inside) needed cleared of cobwebs. - Coffee maker took an hour to make coffee. - Washing machine had trouble completing a cycle. - Digital pinball machine didn't work in the basement.- Screen door to the hottub has a broken hinge.- Kitchen sink drips a lot and is hard to get stopped.- Lazy susan door needs some TLC in kitchen.- Tree branches were hanging down on the driveway and made it impossible to drive a van without scraping significantly (we trimmed them back a little ourselves to remedy this).A long list, but mostly minor stuff.

The home is beautiful if you are a fan of old architecture, which we are, so that was not a problem. When we arrived, the front screen door was wide open and broke. The entry area and porch lights were covered in spider webs that I had to remove before my family arrived, we have a child terrified of spiders. The back yard is nice, a little trash around, but there was animal feces everywhere on the sidewalk and covered patio. I asked the host and he had no idea what caused that. I figured out really quick the following morning there's a huge flock of geese that lives on the pond. The small children loved that but hated to watch their step walking around. I thought the host should have known that. The hot tub had a massive leak and obviously had that for a long time. The privacy screen was literally wide open. We tried to fill the hot tub, but it didn't hold, plus there was no chemicals to put in it. With about every house on VRBO in the area advertising hot tubs, I was very disappointed we didn't get that. Architecture or not, I wouldn't have picked it.

Great location

The property was big enough to fit 2 families and nobody was tripping over each other. The amenities kept everyone busy and having a great time. The outside of the property was well kept. Great time!

Our stay would have been excellent had the bathrooms been cleaner. Some with dirty/dusty floors and counter tops and some with stained glass shower door and walls. I don’t think your 200 cleaning fee is getting the job done.The house was roomy and beautiful.

Multiple gathering areas, beautiful outdoor firepit area. Comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms. Well equipped kitchen. Very enjoyable!

The house itself is setup with a layout very conducive to large groups. Unfortunately, the house is aging and things need attention which are being overlooked. Electricity was out in one of the bathrooms, our shower didn’t get enough hot water for the first shower of the day for the house, and there are repairs which haven’t been done or haven’t been done well. It served its purpose for our trip but there is a growing list of items which could use attention. The spaces are wonderful, and everything is setup really well to host large groups. The property is away from the surrounding area and feels nice and tucked away.

Spacious and beautiful property

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was exactly what we expected and more. We will definitely be staying here again. It was quiet, spacious, and absolutely beautiful especially in the morning when the sun rises.

Great house for a large group!

House was as advertised. Plenty of space and one level. Great when some of your party needs to avoid stairs. View and sunrise is beautiful.

We have stayed there before but there was tthree or four kitchen chairs that were broke on one leg and had a lot of spider webs outside around windows I had two spiders get on me in living room my wife seen a roach in hallway but overall family likes this facility

Close to everything

Our family loved this house. Very convenient because it was close to anything you wanted to do. Our grandchild loved the yard with basketball court. We had a pickleball tournament, went fishing, walking. The beds were comfortable. Lots of room to spread out. Would love to stay here again

Wow! Great Experience

There were 8 of us, all adults with adult children. This place was perfect for us. Plenty of space to spread out, but all be under the same roof. We took advantage of the lake, the basketball court and of course loved how close we were to the Parkway. My suburban appreciated not going up and down the tight roads that take you to the average cabin stay, and my knees appreciated there were not endless sets of stairs in the house.We will stay with these guys again, very pleased with this unit.

A Great Retreat for a small Church Group

The property was very clean & well stocked, with ample room for everyone to spread out, but also enough seating to be in a room together if desired. We had a devotional and singing in the dining room every night & it sounded so pretty in there. The kitchen & laundry room is especially well appointed & we loved that they had a regular coffee pot AND a Keurig Coffee Maker - both were used daily! A huge "thank you" to the owner!

Family trip 2024

This rental was perfect for our family reunion vacation! With all the separate bedrooms and bathrooms that we all had the our own space. The common areas were great for the kids and the adults. Two stoves, ovens and dishwashers for a family of 12 was so helpful. Remember this is a mid-century home with character, up grades, beautiful grounds and a great location. So thankful to the family that allowed us the use of their home!

BEAUTIFUL AND SPACIOUS

We enjoyed this beautiful house, we had enough space for a group of seventeen people. We only had an issue with hot water due to a strong smell coming out of faucets, we reported to the manager and I hope the fixed it for future visitors. Out of that issue, our stay was phenomenal, very nice and peaceful environment. I recommend this property.

The property was nice location ! The house was nasty dirty. All floors turned your feet black, and bathrooms and beds were not clean . Will go back to Tennessee, but we will not be staying here, for the price they need to do better.

Fall Getaway

We were very happy with the location of the house. We liked that it was situated out to itself and a beautiful view from the back of the house. I really loved all of the room the house has to offer, however it was not veryclean the floors in the long hallway were the worst. The steps going down stairs were nasty and need to be sprayed for spiders. Not trying to be mean, whom ever is cleaning is doing a very poor job. I even took a broom and swept all the spider webs and cob webs from around the front door

Great place for multi family in town for Baseball tournament!

This house was great! The basketball/pickel ball court kept the kids busy as well as the pool table and hot tub! Pack your fishing pole! Kids fished for hours! Adults enjoyed the outdoor space and propane fire place. Kitchen is spacious and the extra fridge in laundry area was key for all our drinks. One thing we found odd was that there was only 1 kitchen washcloth and 1 hand towel. Due to the frequency of hot tub use and showering, we had to wash towels daily. There wasn't any designated hot tub towels. Bunk room had a funky odor, but our boys didn't notice. All the beds were fantastic! Location is great! However, if you are doing food delivery, make sure they know you are not at apartments! Overall we are very happy with our stay! Thank you!

Beautiful property with everything needed for a great trip

My family of 9 adults (and a small dog) stayed at this location in September. It was perfect for us! We loved having enough bedrooms for everyone, and separate bathrooms for all as well. The kitchen area is expansive and has most items you could need. The laundry area is modern and worked great. We used every part of this property and loved it all! We cooked in the kitchen, ate in the dining room, pool was played in the pool room constantly, people congregated at the fire pit outside every night, the hot tub was used daily, the game room/movie room was a great place for movie viewing and messing around with the pacman game. The location is very close to Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, which was hectic all the time, but manageable. We went to Smokey Mountains National Park multiple times, with a drive time of just over an hour for most trips. The location is semi-private while still being close to the action. Highly recommended for groups who want to explore the area and have a great and comfortable "base camp". Travis responded quickly when we had a minor issue and kept in touch throughout our stay.

60th Anniversary Family Celebration

The home was the perfect setting to bring our family together to celebrate our parent's 60th wedding anniversary. It is conveniently located to all attractions, but ultra quiet on 3 waterfront acres. The ages of our group spanned 80 years, and we were all extremely comfortable. We started and ended each day outside on the covered patio. The very large dining table was used a lot for family meals and games. The pool table, card table and extra large tvs were also a plus and allowed all of us to interact in smaller groups while still being together. The house is very large and comfortable. The baby slept very well, even when we were all laughing together while playing games. For those who like to walk/run, the greenway by the river is super nice and conveniently located for easy access. Having 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers, and 2 large refrigerators came in really handy for our group of cooks (we ate in the entire week). Plenty of bedrooms/beds and more than enough bathrooms. The views from every window are super relaxing. Plenty of parking. We are already planning and looking forward to a repeat week ASAP!
