Enjoy an escape onto a private ranch in the Bull River. Relax into our cozy guest cabin with incredible views of bull mountain. Enjoy watching horses and elk graze from the private back patio. This special spot is private and quiet while still being close to all the amenities. 40 minutes from Fernie and Fernie Alpine Resort with world class mountain biking and skiing and 30 minutes outside of Cranbrook, this spot is your base camp to all the mountain adventure you could dream of. The ranch is located along the Kootenay river. Hunting, fishing, site seeing and even guided horse rides right from the front step. The cabin is timber frame built, full kitchen, bathroom, wifi, studio style with comfortable queen bed and pull out sofa bed, on leash furry friends also welcome!
The ranch offers guided horse back riding with our horses or an opportunity for you to bring your own horses with a full pasture for them to graze.

We had a great time staying here. The cottage had everything we needed and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. We also loved visiting the animals, especially the donkeys. Thank you!

We absolutely loved our stay at Simone’s cabin in Wardner! This was our second time staying at this beautiful property, and once again, it did not disappoint. The property is gorgeous, and the horses are safely fenced but roam right up near the cabin, making it such a special experience. We loved waking up to these majestic beauties just outside the picture window in the dining area. It was such a peaceful and beautiful way to start the morning. The cabin was absolutely spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. You can really tell how much care goes into this property.My daughter and I also had the opportunity to enjoy a trail ride with Ben, Simone’s guide, and we had SO much fun! It was such a memorable experience and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Thank you, Simone, for another wonderful stay. We absolutely love this little getaway and look forward to coming back again!

It's a 5 star property and location, with a lot of unique things, and the owner seemed pleasant--but I nearly rated it a 3 as it isn't as described. The listing says there is 1 BR with 2 queen beds. The photos make it look like a bedroom, a living room, a dining area and kitchen with a bathroom. The bathroom is separate but the rest is a studio. There is no separate bedroom. The bed is right next to the couch. There is ONE bed and a hide-a-bed couch. The photos are misleading. We made it work but were disappointed.

Thank you for the feedback! We have updated the listing description to ensure the studio style set up is clear and no one is under the impression that the cabin has seperate bedrooms. We definitely do not want to make that impression, full transparency of how the cabin is laid out is important for us. Appologies, this was not clear for you when you booked.

Our stay at this beautiful little cabin was exactly what my daughter and I needed. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. One of our favourite memories was sitting together in the dining area by the large picture window, enjoying a meal while watching the horses peacefully grazing in the pasture. It was so quiet, calming, and truly special.The cabin was immaculate, thoughtfully equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell a lot of care has gone into creating such a warm and welcoming space.The location was another highlight. It was the perfect home base for exploring the area, with so many wonderful places nearby while still feeling like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us. We left feeling refreshed and with wonderful memories we’ll always treasure. We would love to come back again someday.

The place itself is really cute and quaint, and we loved the country-house feel. Having grown up on a farm, we really appreciated the charm and rustic appeal of the little cabin. The price point is also quite fair for what you get. It is in a good location with a quick drive to lake koocanusa, hiking trails and Cranbrook. That said, there are definitely a few things that could be improved. There was no lock on the door. There were no curtains on the living room window, holes in some of the bed sheets, and no duvet cover for the pull-out couch. The pull-out couch also wasn’t very comfortable. There’s no A/C either, and the little cabin gets quite hot during the summer.Overall, we enjoyed the character and country charm of the place. With a few simple improvements to the bedding, window coverings, and temperature control, it could be a much more comfortable stay. For the price, it’s fair, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Thank you for your feedback! It is important to us to improve where we are able. Our cleaner typically advises us if linens need replacing so i value that information, as we were not aware of this problem. Unfortunately, a previous guest did not return the key to the cabin and we were unable to replace the lock in time for your stay. The cabin does lock from the inside and the property is extremely secure. As your booking had only one guest listed, we ask that only registered guests stay at the cabin, we did not prepare the pull out linens for you, which we typically do when guests advise us there will be an additonal guest staying. We would have been happy to provide you with extra bedding, duvet covers etc if you had reached out to us during your stay and let us know you needed them. The half curtains on the living room window do need replacing, which have been ordered. Again, thank you for the feed back!

Cozy Cabin Near Cranbrook

We had a great time during our stay, the perfect little place to get out of town and relax. Loved seeing all the horses and donkeys on the property.

Check in was extremely easy, directions were easy to follow. Cabin was so peaceful with all the amenities you could need. Loved having our morning coffee and breakfast on the patio and our daily visits with Chico the dog and fluffy kitty. Would definitely recommend.

Cabin was very well designed will a most comfortable bed, well functioning kitchen and excellent bathroom. The views were amazing with good privacy. Small issues with the coffee maker and bbq but not a huge deal.

Cabin Review

We really enjoyed our stay at the ranch. The property had all the ammenities we wanted and was cozy as well. Easy check in process. Great place to stay while hiking. Would come back again.

The cabin was nice, property was beautiful. We arrived and found we had no hot water to shower or do dishes, no cutlery and lots of house flies not sure why. Host was not available at the time im sure if she was it possibly would be different.

Kootenay Ranch

I terrific location on a ranch in the Rocky Mountain Trench at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains! We particularly enjoyed seeing the animals and the hosts were very friend!

The title is accurate. “Cozy, private ranch cabin.” We loved our stay! This was a far superior option to staying somewhere else like a hotel or lodge. The property is beautiful and the owners are super nice. The kitchen is well equipped, the bathroom was very spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The sunsets were beautiful and the mountains are an incredible backdrop. I hope to be back for my next BC fishing trip. 5/5!
