UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP AS OF 3/28/22

3 Bedroom 2 Bath and Loft with sleeper sofa and futon.

We have replaced all beds and mattresses, living room furniture and many other items. We have built a brand new covered deck which more than doubled the living space with new patio furniture.

Enjoy high speed WiFi, smart TVs in living room, master bedroom and loft, both standard and Keurig coffee makers, and other great amenities.

Our Cabin is located on Lake Strom Thurmond also known as Clarks Hill which is the largest man made lake East of the Mississippi. It is a great location for a weekend getaway or vacation. In addition to the lake we have 50 miles of hiking and biking trails, 3 lakeside golf courses, great fishing and hunting. This area is suitable year round. Summer has the advantage of warm water in the lake for water sports but the other seasons have the advantage of pleasant temperatures for all other activities.

If you have a boat you can launch it just a few blocks away from the cabin and dock it at our covered dock. If you do not have a boat the nearby Savannah Lakes Marina rents new model pontoon boats..

The cabin is a beautiful two story log cabin in a wilderness setting sitting on 300 ft of shoreline. It is 1500 square ft, with 3 bedrooms, a loft and 2 baths equipped with full amenities. It also has a large wrap around deck with view that extends over several miles of lake.

Golfing is available at several outstanding golf courses nearby, fishing within a half mile of the cabin is outstanding and there is a 50 mile long hiking, biking, kayaking trail only a few miles away. Whether you are looking for water sports, golf, a great place for long walks or bike rides, or just a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy this is a great place to spend a week or a weekend. And for Masters fans the cabin is about a 40 minute drive from the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA.

Blackstone griddle and a gas grill are available for use as well as a gas fire pit. Just bring your propane tank.

There is a large covered dock but no lights or electrical outlets per Army Corp of Engineers. There is also a slight incline to the dock that may not be suitable for some people.

Cutest little cabin

Loved our stay here! Super cute wood cabin. We spent all of our time on the spacious back porch area. Very relaxing and plenty of parking. The dock was the best and perfect for our parking our large pontoon boat. The owner was very responsive via text. Plenty of plates, cups, cookingware and left over spices/coffees from previous guests.

Most Favorite Family Vacation Spot

This was our second time staying at this cozy cabin! We adore everything about it, and plan on this becoming a once a year tradition! From the gorgeous view, to the awesome covered porch, ALL the amenities, and the dock, it is truly our most treasured vacation spot!! Repeat guests….great again!

This was the second year our group of 4 senior golfers has stayed here while golfing at local courses and attending The Masters. Our experience was great again. Nice rustic cabin with everything we needed. Hopefully, we can do it again next year. I really wish the owner would replace the upstairs futon with a single bed though! Thanks!

Will definitely return!

We absolutely loved this property. My family brought our boat and jet skis for my daughter's 21st birthday and had the best time. The porch is absolutely fantastic. It had beautiful outdoor furniture, high velocity fans and plenty of seating for everyone. We were only inside to sleep. The beds were nice with good sheets, which is always important to me. My family used the dock to swim and fish off of. It was big enough to put a 21ft bay boat and 2, 3 seater jet skis at and still have room for the little ones to jump off of while we laid out in our floats. This is deep water at the end of the dock and the boat ramp was super close. There was a grocery store, dollar general and convenient store close by so we were able to get things we ran out of or needed. We had no issues with directions or checkin/out. We cleaned up and left the property exactly how we found it so that it will be available for our future trips because we will definitely be back. Me, my husband, our kids, and grandkids enjoyed this place better than any of the others that we have stayed at in the last 5 years. You can tell the owners are investigating a lot of upgrades in this property and I hope that others take care of it so that it's available for my family year after year.

Awesome cabin on the lake

Cabin is comfortable and well equipped. Location on the lake is absolutely perfect. The dock is new and great for the boat and all of the water toys as well as swimming. But the highlight is definitely the spacious porch with the really nice furniture. We spent most of the time there when not on the water and the fans made it remarkably cool despite the heat. We definitely hope to return soon.

Very enjoyable

Owners of the property are super helpful and accommodating. The porch and dock was amazing! We had our boat but much prefered to hang out on the dock and swim. Only downfall was cameras on the property so we felt like we were being watched all the time.

Loved the deck and dock. The cleaning crew can do a better job. The refrigerator drawers were completely filled with condiments. Didn’t know if we were supposed to use them or not. The pictures on the website weren’t exactly correct.

Yearly Family lake trip

The location of this property for us is great. It’s close to Savannah lakes, Elijah Clark and Soap creek. The back porch is probably our favorite part. We actually thought about sleeping there a couple nights. Great Place!!

Great Outdoor Deck

A cool day and a rainy day were just as great as the sunny day thanks to the outdoor living space on the deck. The patio fire pit on the huge covered deck allowed grilling and peaceful views of the lake. The kitchen was small but not a problem for our 3 night stay. Check in/check out was easy. We also loved the dock. We used the neighborhood ramp to unload but the nearby Elijah Clark State Park ramp to load.

Wonderful time spent on the lake

This is our 2nd stay at this home and the owners continue to make fabulous upgrades to the property. The new deck was amazing. Clean and comfortable home, close to several boat ramps. New dock is great! Our family has enjoyed both of our stays here and look forward to returning again soon.

Masters Trip

Visited for Masters week for a guys trip. The property is absolutely gorgeous with a wonderful covered deck/patio overlooking the lake. We cooked on the griddle and grill and enjoyed spending time outside on the deck. Fishing from the dock was great as well and the two golf courses we played were nearby. It was an easy 50 minute drive to Augusta National. We hope to be back soon.

Fantastic Cozy Cabin

My family couldn't have been happier when arriving at the cabin! We had cold weather during our Christmas stay, which made it feel more like Christmas!! The cabin was warm and cozy, very comfortable beds, and a stocked kitchen. The deck was very large - on our next visit, we will utilize this space more. We did cook out on the gas grill many times. We went fishing from the dock and managed to catch a fish! We are already starting to talk about planning our next visit - we will definitely be back! The color of the sky at sunset was very beautiful! Our fur babies had a great time too...oh..and we saw a deer! We thank you for sharing your cabin - we hated to leave!

Hi! We are Scott & Laura Thompson. We are a busy family of five, who currently reside in Effingham County, GA. We've been self-employed in the trades for about 18 years. Since the recent sale of our company, we've set our sites on real-estate investments. After many years of dealing with the daily stresses of a trades company, we wanted something that we could have fun with. We believe this new venture will allow more free time to spend with our kids, and be something that the whole family can enjoy. Being a homeschool family allows us the opportunity to be able to travel whenever our hearts desire. We hope that this property will be our first of many!

My wife's family has been vacationing at Clarks Hill for generations. She grew up swimming, skiing, and tubing here every summer with her family. She has always dreamt of one day owning her own lake front cabin. So when the opportunity presented itself, we couldn't pass it up. The memories made at the lake, are some of the most precious memories that will last a lifetime! We look forward to making many wonderful memories with our family and friends in this cabin, and we hope that you will do the same!

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

All kinds of wildlife are viewable from the deck of the cabin. Hiking and biking in the development where the cabin is located is great but if you are a real enthusiast a new 50 mile long hiking, biking, kayaking trail has recently been completed a few miles away. Some of the best fishing on Lake Thurmond is less than half a mile from the cabin and if you are a golfer you will not find any nicer golf courses than those accessible from our cabin.
