This is a small 2 story home with an open bedroom concept on second floor. First floor is open living room-dining room/kitchen combo. Perfect for a single person or couple looking for a quiet escape in the country. Large private backyard with great view of stars at night. 50 minute drive to OBX beaches. Our home is very cozy and gives the feeling of being in your own home 😊

Great stay 2nd time with this house

This is a great place to stay. Very happy with both my stays. Comfortable bedding, well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room for watching a movie and a great host You will not be disappointed

Great place and perfect for a guy to get away from it all, or take all the wildlife found in this area. Well-located near Phelps Lake and the Pungo Unit. It is isolated, so a visit to the grocery store on the way in will save you time if you think you will be going out for groceries later. I thoroughly enjoyed Birthday House. The host was very responsive, and the amenities were great.

Excellent communication with the host, a very roomy house, all amenities worked and were fresh and ready to go. The instructions given by the host were extremely helpful. Every form of technology on the planet was available and working properly.

Visiting family

There are no hotels in that area at all. It was 10 miles to downtown Columbia. It worked out perfect for us. It is so cute and well thought out. I would definitely say yes, try it out.

The house is in the middle of nowhere, or at least very rural. It gives a lot of privacy for guests, but just know that there are bugs due to the remote area. The host was pretty up front about that, though. That said, we got a lot of value for the cost of the house and we would definitely stay here again. Nathan was prompt with responding to any queries, and it is not too far away from the OBX, less than an hour. Thank you for such a wonderful new experience in NC.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend trip to attend the bear festival in Plymouth. The house was perfect for our needs. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones we have ever slept in. Sadly, we didn’t see any bears. But we did enjoy seeing deer, wild turkey’s, turtles, and snakes while we were driving around. The sunset over the field behind the house was amazing and you could see all the stars at night. Nate was very communicative and check-in and out was super easy. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
