Are you looking for a quiet, peaceful, secluded place to get away from it all for a few days? THIS IS IT!

Three bedroom, two bath, fully furnished country hideaway overlooking a small lake.

Three burner gas grill with utensils. No charge for propane. Grilling area is well lit for night-time use.

Fishing available and basic fishing gear provided, but bring your own stuff if you like. No license required, live bait available nearby. We have a 10 ft. rowboat with oars, two pedal boats and two kayaks available. Life jackets provided free of charge.

Swimming is permitted, but there are no lifeguards on duty. Life jackets provided free of charge. There is a Life Ring Buoy on the dock

FIRE RING WITH FREE FIREWOOD and roasting sticks available.

There is a Blink video doorbell installed on the front door and two outside Wi-Fi cameras, one on the north end of the house, and one on the south end of the house. Both cameras are in plain view. There are no other cameras or recording devices on the property.

House is equipped with "Smart" thermostat, smart wall plugs and smart front porch light. The thermostat is set for optimum efficiency and guest comfort.

House is wired for portable generator which is on-site and can be operational within an hour, (probably sooner)

Please review our welcome guide and house rules before your arrival. Please note that we require the names and ages of all the guests in your party to be listed in the reservation, and you as the renter must be one of the guests and stay at our Lake House.

Perfect location, atmosphere and hosts

Quiet, relaxing, roomy, and homey. The house was fantastic. Everything we needed to feel like home away from home was available. We baked, cooked, and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Instructions for checking in/out were easy, communication with our hosts was perfect. Looking forward to staying here again. Highly recommend!!!

Hunting trip

The house was beyond expectations and the owners were amazing. So many convenient items with the property. Notes throughout the house were great and items stocked like coffee, snacks and condiments was a pleasant surprise. Beds were comfortable and the smart home devices were convenient and easy to use. Look forward to staying here again.

Pretty much perfect

Roger and Mary are great hosts. The property is un a prestine setting with a beatiful pond. Any aminity you could imagine us already there. It is in a quiet location that allows you to really just sit back and enjoy nature. Roger was easy to communicate with and wanted to make sure everything was perfect with our stay. This one is a hidden gem!

Perfect place

We absolutely loved staying at this house. It had everything we needed and then some. The hosts were more than accommodating and welcoming. The lake was beautiful and you could see so many stars at night due to no/very little light polution.

Outstanding Property and Hosts

The moment we pulled down the driveway and saw the pond and land, we knew we made the right choice. Went inside to fine a very nice house with eggs and bottled water in fridge, snacks, ice in the freezer, and much more. Bug spray was available outside. Hummingbirds swarmed at the porch feeders and were comical to watch. We would sit on the porch and watch them. We saw deer and ducks and turkeys and squirrels and chickens. The hosts had outdoor games and plenty of boats in top condition. We didn't have much luck fishing but had fun anyway. The host let us know they were available if we needed anything, but they had things set up so well, we never needed a thing. Plenty of firewood was available and the grill was a nice one. I highly recommend this, and my daughter and grandson said the same. We will return someday.

Relaxing, quiet

Great hosts- very quick to respond and very friendly. Home is very clean, very well stocked, hosts are gracious. New mattresses are comfortable, love having a washer and dryer . We cant to go back again!

Beautiful and Relaxing

This was the perfect place for us to stay. We especially loved the local wildlife (deer, turkeys, hummingbirds). There was no reason to leave, trails to walk, pond to swim and fish in. Like others have mentioned, the kitchen was very well-stocked. Snacks in a basket, water bottles, and farm fresh eggs! Roger was extremely helpful, and responsive. We will definitely be back!!

Relaxing family weekend

This is our 3rd year going on a Labor Day getaway. By far, the BEST place we’ve stayed. The house had EVERYTHING we needed and more. Our teenage boys loved the kayaks and paddle boats for fishing(even in the rain). My mom enjoyed the covered porch watching the humming birds all day. Roger always answered any questions and even brought bait for fishing. Truly amazing hosts and a perfect time away for 3 generations. We’re looking to return next year.

Perfect getaway

My three children and I love staying here. We have our own private lake for swimming, kayaking, paddle and row boating, or just floating on a raft and looking at the sky. Roger and Mary have created a retreat that feels like home, with fresh eggs, bottled water, plenty of towels and blankets and open spaces for relaxing and talking together, inside or on the porch while watching the humming birds. We also loved playing frisbee golf and hiking. We left feeling refreshed and renewed and closer to each other.

Lakehouse

The house, lake and hosts are fantastic. We’ve stayed at other VRBO’s in other states and we think this is the best we’ve stayed at. Clean, well stocked, if you forget anything we think the hosts had it covered. The wildlife was great. We can’t wait to book it for next year.

Throw and Fish

It was an oasis in the hills. We arrived and was very happy with what we saw and we had only pulled in the driveway. It only got better. We went to the LAKE HOUSE looking To get away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, Relax and do some fishing and disc golfing. It was everything we could have wanted and more. It was a very hot few days, and the air conditioning worked great, very comfortable inside. The place has wifi, but I don't know why you would need to use it. It has 4 disk Golf baskets on the premises, and I had one of my own so we had our own personal disk. Golf course and pond for fishing. It couldn't Have been better. It was EXACTLY what we were looking for. We had everything we could have wanted, and then some. From the 4 disk Golf baskets to the farm fresh Eggs in the fridge. Roger and Mary were great hosts. They had everything you could need, and then some. Very clean, Grass and landscape was well kept. All the info you could need about your place and the surrounding area inside the cabin posted somewhere. And they also let you have your own vacation. They are there for anything. You need, but are not a nuisance or try to invade on your vacation. They are the PERFECT HOSTS. I can't stress enough how perfect it was. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely be going back. Thank you Roger and Mary for making it 1 of the best most convenient and easy vacation experiences I've ever had. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating because 5 isnt enough. above and beyond!

Peaceful Getaway

This place was one of the best places we ever stayed at. So quiet and the wildlife was amazing. Birds of all kinds, deer, turkey, bullfrogs and turtles also. The lake was fun and the hiking trails were just enough for a bit of exercise. We stayed for 3 nights and never left the property. Hated to leave. Roger and Mary joined us around the campfire as my friend played acoustic guitar. Great owners!! Only suggestion we had was maybe some hooks on the wall in the main bedroom to hang some clothes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The check-in process was seamless and the hosts were very responsive to all messages and questions. The home was comfortable and set up to make you feel at home. Thanksgiving 2023 - Almost Heaven!

From the time we made the reservation to arrival, the stay, and even the departure - it was WONDERFUL. We are already checking our calendars to return again in the summer as well as next Thanksgiving. The hosts were top notch and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very nice and we had plenty of room for everyone to enjoy their time! Thank you Roger and Mary - We can't wait to come back!

Lake house

Was absolutely amazing. First impression was WOW! Such a beautiful property along with wonderful owners. All kinds of extras were provided. What a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy Gods country. We so enjoyed the visit from the turkeys, so friendly and even pet one of them and he went to sleep. We will be returning in May and this will be our go to home away from home. Thank you Roger and Mary you are the best!

Second Year as Perfect as the First!

Our first year, we just went as a couple and knew that this was the only vacation spot for us from now on! This year, we brought friends and family. Next year, we plan on 2 trips and more family members joining us! This is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and get away from it all!

Relaxing stay

Very private property with relaxing view. Property owners were very gracious, and the property has almost everything one would need to enjoy stay. Tripped over small ramp at the front door several times, if only it could be removed when not in use. Couldn't find a fishing pole, probably should have brought my own. Property owners provided snacks. Mattress was a bit thin for me, and wasn't a fan of cameras inside living space, although it was disclosed prior to booking. All in all I would stay here again, hopefully without the inside cameras. The only reason for a 4 star rating is the inside cameras and bed comfort.

We had 4 seniors, loved the house ( maybe consider new mattresses for the 3 bedrooms) but was okay. Hosts provided a lot of things that I never had at any other rental before, was extremely nice. Location is beautiful, quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this rental !!!

Mary & I are both retired, she from personnel administration and nursing, and me from law enforcement... and computer administration... and truck driving. We are just common, friendly, country people who put on airs for no one. We do all the maintenance and repairs on the property. We mow and trim our own grass, and maintain the walking trails.

Our Lake House sits at the head of our small lake, down in a bowl, surrounded by woods and a large lawn. We are located on a quiet, well-maintained township road that has no through traffic. There are no other houses within sight. It is peaceful, secluded and quiet here, and the air is crisp and clear. Fall colors are spectacular.

There is security lighting on all sides of the house, controlled by manual switches which are readily identified and labeled.

We have installed many "smart" accessories including interior and exterior lighting, thermostat, and door locks. We have installed external Wi Fi cameras for security monitoring. NO cameras are in use or monitored while guests are present, but we do check them occasionally for security purposes.

We have established an extensive network of hiking trails through fields and wooded areas. We mow & trim weekly during season in order to provide clean and safe walking paths. A printed map is posted on the wall near the fridge. Trails are restricted during deer season and the map will be so noted.

Nature abounds! It is very common to observe deer, wild turkeys, wild geese, rabbits, and squirrels on a daily basis. Less common are a great blue heron which frequents the lake and wild ducks on the lake. Bullfrogs and the occasional whip-poor-will are the most common evening noises you will hear.

The lake is fed by seven natural springs and the water is very clear. It is suitable for swimming, fishing and other water activities. The lake has abundant fish species through previous stockings and natural proliferation. It is common to see several varieties around the edges of the water. There are several grass carp which can be seen from time to time. A couple of them are HUGE.

We stocked additional largemouth bass, hybrid bluegill, regular bluegill, and red ear sunfish last May, and plan additional this year.
