The house, host and the amenities were nice but before we could unpack and use the kitchen, we had to sanitize the counter and wash everything in the cabinets and drawers due to mouse droppings. The location is very secluded and made a nice family getaway.

Athens Cabin

Little further from Hocking Hills than expected but it was ok..kids loved the pool!

Great family get away

Great long weekend with family. The house was clean, well stocked and on a beautiful piece of land.

Very nice property my family had a very good time and enough space for us to spread out and not feel like we were overlapping. The pool was super awesome who doesn’t like a private pool! Thanks again for letting us enjoy your property.

Extremely satisfied!

The house was big and comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was close enough to a town to get supplies when needed, but remote enough to feel cozy. And for the total cost, the wilderness lodge was a GREAT value.

Perfect family weekend

Beautiful cabin perfect for a large group. Many amenities and comforts of home. Plenty of space to spread out or spend time together for our group of ten. Very clean and organized. Outside the hot tub was relaxing and well maintained. Quiet, country area with plenty of outdoor seating and room for yard games. Definitely recommend.

The property is not very clean. Examples, bathroom floor had not been mopped & had droplets of something on the floor, crumbs/dirt under kitchen cabinets, mouse droppings on counters & no disinfectant was left to clean up the areas, mouse droppings on floors & we couldn't find a broom. We experienced several mice (not just one) & they have left in the "house binder" that no refunds are given because of rodents & bugs in the home, which means we are not the first to experience this. When reading other people's experiences "in the house journal " others have left similar stories. We didn't use the pool because of weather but it wasn't clean & we didn't use the hot tub after reading others experience of the hot tub.We did however love the quite area & spent most of our time on the covered front porch listening to farm animals in the distance

Thanks for the feedback. Our cleaning team does sweep and mop the floor before and after each guest stay. The images you shared show tiny specs in the corner. Although frustrating, I wouldn't consider that unclean or just enough for a 6/10 review nor did you mention any issues throughout your stay about cleanliness. We do state in our rules & policies that you may see mice as the lodge is located in the woods & your surrounded by 15 acres of woodlands and it is normal to see mice in the woods.

1st Choice family outing!!

This beautifully decorated log cabin was perfect for our family outing! The property was comfortable for 3 couples, Great grandpa and 3 teens. The wrap around porch had plenty of seating. It was very peaceful and quiet setting. Everyone loved the hot tub daytime and evenings. Kitchen was nicely stocked except you need to bring your own spices. The property owners were very prompt and easy to deal with. We will definitely be back!

Great cabin!

First, the good stuff. The cabin was great! It was clean, with a fully stocked kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of space to stretch your legs after a day of hiking. It was reasonably priced in my opinion. My trip was for Hocking Hills but the cabin was an hour away from the park. I overlooked that it was close to Wayne National Forest instead as posted on the website so that was my fault. Also, the cabin has WiFi but it does not work when connected.

Spacious cabin with nice renovations

My family rented this cabin out for a long 3 day weekend in February. We were in town to visit my daughter who attends a nearby college. The cabin was perfect , nicely decorated ,clean, well laid out, large bedrooms , bathrooms and awesome wrap around porch! The fire pit and hot tub were great! The kitchen was well stocked. The cabin comfortably fit 10 of us -5 adult couples and our beloved dog! Athens is 20 mins away . Hocking Hills 20 mins away. We used nearby Kroger in Athens , gas station is 10mins away. Cell reception is spotty while driving in woods, cabin has good wifi!

It was a relaxing event

A relaxing time. Did experience at times a septic smell odor throughout the day. Also noticed pool appeared cloudy. The filter basket was clogged with leaves and debris. I cleaned out the basket which helped the pool water apperance. Also had to remove cobwebs from the kitchen window attached to the sink and soap dispensers.

Peaceful Cabin

We stayed in the cabin to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. The location was very secluded and pretty. The cabin had plenty of room to house 10 adults. A couple of the beds were pretty uncomfortable but the others seemed like they were a better quality. It was ok for a couple nights but I wouldn’t want to sleep on them an entire week. I felt like it could’ve been cleaned a bit better. There was some hair left in the showers and sink and a huge spiderweb in the corner of the living room. Not that big of deal, we just sprayed the showers off and they were fine. It was a fun weekend for my family and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get away. The hot tub got nice and hot even in the freezing temperatures!

Ours (just 2 of us) was a last-minute, week day (week after Labor Day) booking, with temperatures in the high 80's. I was delighted that the pool was still uncovered and was serviced the following day. We spent all that day "at the beach" in the wilderness cabin. Most anything we needed for the kitchen, minus the food, was provided, including a propane grill on the porch by the pool, Linens and towels were clean, A/C in every bedroom (5 of them!), and my husband and I had the cabin to ourselves. The dining room table was huge, as was the picnic table outside; meant for a large number of guests. The stars were impressive from the hot tub; we could see so many (being on unlined back roads in the "sticks" where ambient light is minimal). Our stay was a quick visit, so we did not do any hiking or ATV riding, though the posters in the cabin had great recommendations. I tried to book an additional day, but unfortunately they were unable to take that reservation. Highly recommend this cabin and look forward to our next adventure here.

Cabian was great clean and plenty of room for our family of 8. Pool was nice and very clean along with the hot tub the home was very well put together a few things that would be nice a new frying pan that won't stick and there are no trash cans in the bed rooms al9 g with no hooks for tow7es or towel bars to hung wet towels or wet items. No hooks in the main living are for coats no play swing set for like ones it is over gross wn with weeds and small trees and the basketball. Hoop is in need of repair. But it was a nice location not far for groceries and things to do
