Rocky Shore Lodge is one of two cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals and is situated just steps away from Nine Mile Lake in Finland MN. It is three bedrooms, 2 bath, cabin with spacious living spaces, tv room, and loft. This cabin comes with private gas grill, large patio for entertaining, and complimentary kayak access.

Unorganized Territory #1 Cabin Rentals are located near the beautiful Minnesota North Shore of Lake Superior. Situated just steps away from the beautiful Nine Mile Lake in Finland, MN, and 15 miles from Lake Superior, your visit will leave you with unsurpassed memories for you and your family and friends. Let your days consist of waking up to the sunrise and staying for the sunset while hiking, fishing, chasing waterfalls, or adventuring out on the hundreds of miles of connected ATV and snowmobiling trails.

Great host and perfect house

The house was very spacious and had everything we needed for our week on 9 mile lake. We paddled and fished every day. Host family were all great and responsive if we needed anything.

Fabulous place

We ha a wonderful relaxing time. The cabin and property was wonderful. We brought a canoe and used the kayaks provided. Overall had a fabulous time!

Wonderful Weekend on the North Shore

My family and I had a great weekend stay here. The rental was very nice and clean, and had ample sitting space inside and outside on the balcony for family dinners and playing board games. It is located in a very central location to several of the state parks on the north shore that we were able to easily visit. Highly recommend this rental!

This place is truly amazing. They definitely thought of everything to make it as cozy and unforgettable. There is so much room and the views are spectacular. Kerry and Patti are amazing hosts as well. Can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful!!!

The house was absolutely beautiful!! And it’s hard to find a rental with comfortable beds and we all slept good during our entire stay. Very clean and loved using the game room. It was perfect for the kiddos. Kerry was very responsive when we had questions. Would stay here again!

A great break from the heat

Impeccable property - as if we were the first people to use it. Great condition, great (very VERY remote) location, peaceful, and on a beautiful, pristine lake. Kids had a great time exploring, kayaking, and generally being on a luxury wilderness adventure.

Just Perfect

The house was very clean and well furbished. The view is spectacular and having coffee on the deck over looking the lake each morning started the day beautifully. Cannot recommend highly enough if you want to get away and enjoy peace and beauty.

Beautiful Northwoods Lake Home

This was a great experience for the long weekend. The property was immaculate, had everything amenity we could ask for and the perfect balance of being off of the beaten path but still accessible to a few towns when the weather was a little rainy. The location is top notch and the property itself was perfect for 3 couples. Highest marks for this property and it’s host.

Family Time

This was our second stay in this home away from home. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this place at all. It’s a little piece of heaven in the woods on a lake. It’s was perfect for us … again. ❤️

great experience

Stayed here during our ski visit to Lutsen. Property was clean, spacious and very warm. Kerry, the owner, went above and beyond to make us comfortable. We asked about a gas grill being available for grilling and next thing we know a brand new grill was dropped off because the other grill was snowed in. We would definitly stay here again.

Ideal Lake Getaway

Wow. A beautiful house in a quiet and wonderful corner of the North Shore. Our 15-year-old nephew had the time of his life kayaking, fishing, and hiking. We all enjoyed the fire pit, game room, and naps in the loft. Kerry is a perfect and welcoming host!

Long Weekend get-away.

Perfect place for my family of 4 kids. Ages are 12 to 18. This place checked all the boxes. We absolutely the place and all it had to offer. The kayaks were a huge hit. Fishing was perfect. The place had everything we needed. Very clean. Thank you to the hosts.

We wish we were there still

We had a wonderful time. The property, lake and house are beautiful. The house had everything we needed. We cooked great meals and had wonderful family time. The lake is gorgeous. We kayaked, the kids caught crawfish and swam. Be careful if you take a boat on the lake because there are shallow spots. The owners are kind and hospitable. We would love to come back.

9 Mile Lake/4 wheeling trip

2 retired couples enjoying the scenic beauty of the wonderful UTV trails in Superior Forest! The Cabin was a delight and a great Basecamp to experience trails in every direction. The cabin was immaculate and offered a peaceful and quiet environment after a long day of riding. KERRY took care of any concerns or questions we had on the spot. We look forward to a ride in the fall and this cabin will be our home away from home! Thanks Kerry for making our stay a success and creating some great memories in the process! Pat & Joyce

Perfect for a Girls Weekend

We had the great privilege of renting both of the cabins at UT1 Cabin Rentals. Rocky Shores accommodates our group so well and had all of the features that we needed to enjoy from sunup to sundown. The private outdoor firepit was wonderful and even with a little rain we were able to find shelter under the huge deck. The cabins were fully stocked from linens to dishes and the beds were outstandingly comfortable (where did you get those mattresses???). We spent a lot of time exploring the beautiful waterfalls of the area. Rocky Shores was far enough from the hustle and bustle that often comes on the North Shore but a perfect location for a day trip. We explored several state parks, kayaked Nine Mile Lake with their complimentary kayaks, and enjoyed a great long weekend! Thank you for your hospitality, we will definitely be back!

Sweet spot for our family!

We loved this sweet spot off the beaten path. It's a bit of drive to get here but once you arrive it's a quiet, serene and beautiful place on the shore of Nine Mile Lake. We enjoyed hanging in the hammocks by the lake, kayaking, playing card games on the deck, going for walks and fires in the firepit. This place is clean and well equipped for 4 adults. We made most of our meals and grilled one evening so everything but the groceries is here and ready for your use. We also watched movies in the media/game room. It was a delightful stay. Thanks Kerry for being such a gracious host!

Peaceful Paradise

This home is the perfect gathering place, we knew from the listing it would meet our needs but the pictures truly do not do this place justice. The fully stocked open kitchen that flowed out to the back deck overlooking the lake was the perfect setting for morning coffees, family dinners, watching the sunset and game nights around the table. The owners thought of everything when they built and stocked this home. It is a great location secluded enough to feel the calmness of the backcountry but close enough to all the sights and attractions of the north shore. Thanks again to Kerry and Patti for sharing your peaceful plot of land with our family.

Complete Fun and Luxury by North Woods Lake

The Nine-Mile Lake home is one of the best homes we have vacationed at. It was super clean, with nice decor, well built home with different cozy spots around the house to sit and enjoy your group (sit in front of the fire, movie room, fire pit area, outside table, bean bag loft, etc). It was completely supplied with any kitchen or activity needs. The lake was beautiful to kayak on (two plus supplied). To relax or explore the north shore within a 1/2 hour this is an amazing accommodation. And to top it off Kerry and his family communicated quickly, were friendly and met requests immediately. Absolutely loved this home and wish we could take it back home with us 😊. Excellent stay!!!

Gorgeous Getaway

Kerry and Patti were wonderful hosts and Kerry went so far as to offer a pontoon ride. What a gorgeous lake and area to be in! The kayaks they provided were great. The house is beautiful and cozy. Comfortable beds, great spaces to relax in the living room, game room and loft (just be prepared to guard the steep ladder to the loft if you have toddlers as they’ll want to explore for sure!). Very nice fire pit area. What to know for next time was Wi-Fi was hit and miss, server didn’t seem to allow any redirects so just be prepared to enjoy being able to relax and truly unplug for the time you’re there and download any podcasts or shows you’d want beforehand. Would recommend this place to others.

A home away from home, plus more.

The house is a gem located by the lake. Morning coffees on the patio and breathing that fresh air was a tranquil experience. The kitchen amenities were complete, a total convenience, and all we had to bring were food and beverages. Everything was thought out for convenience sake, right down to the corn on the cob holder. The entertainment room was a plus, my family spent a few times there. and the whole of the house was very clean! There's a lot to do for outdoor activities as well, from kayaking, fishing and biking, and at night, just relaxing by the campfire with a beverage in hand. It is a family friendly place. We were over all, impressed and will return again sometime in the near future. Kudos to the Hosts and thank you!

Perfect family getaway

We stayed at this property as a family of four with two teenagers. The house offered the perfect amount of family togetherness opportunities while allowing enough room to enjoy quiet moments, too. The house was immaculate, the bedding was plush and comfortable, bath towels were soft and cozy and there were many little touches that made our stay easy and carefree. Kayaks, camp chairs, life jackets, grill utensils and extra beach towels were all appreciated options! Two things to note as a renter- the coffee pot is a regular one, so be sure to bring ground coffee. The store isn’t close by. Ha! Along those lines, think about your meal plans and drinks before arriving so you don’t have to worry about getting groceries locally. You won’t want to leave the house once you’re there.

Fantastic Stay at Beautiful Lake Home

What a fantastic place for a vacation. The house was new and sparkling clean and amenities were top notch. One of the best, well-stocked houses we have stayed in (and there have been a lot!). From games to kayaks, an abundance of seating both outside and in, wood for the fire pit, actual wine glasses and good knives (which are hard to find in rental homes and important for those of us who love to cook)…the list goes on. It’s very clear the owners have put a lot of time, thought and money into making this house a home away from home. The proximity to and views of the lake are outstanding. So many beautiful sunsets and amazing nights of star-gazing. Living in NY, we’ve never seen so many stars! Kerry and his family are just down the road and are very welcoming. Although we didn’t really need anything, it was reassuring to know they were available to help if anything came up. You really couldn’t ask for a nicer, more relaxing place to spend your vacation. The location was a bit far out but that’s why you come here: getting away from it all. We can’t wait to go back!
