Clean rooms. Beds are very comfortable. The on bathroom is built in a closet it’s very tiny. But gets the job done.

Very cozy cottage, beautiful decor. We had a very enjoyable peaceful stay. Mountain views were beautiful. There wasn't a lake view unless you took a good walk down through the campgrounds. The kitchen could've had more pots, pans and baking sheets along with tubberware but we made do. All in all had a wonderful stay and have already recommended to friends.

This house was adequate for our needs, but we probably wouldn't stay here again. The water smells and tastes very strongly of sulfur, so bring plenty of bottled water with you. There is no arcade/game room as advertised. The hot tub is an inflatable one with no seats, so either one or two people could fit sitting on the floor (and short people will drown) or you could fit maybe 4 if you are all on your knees. The hot tub was off when we arrived and it took 2 days for it to heat up to a comfortable temperature so it really was unusable for our group. The seating around the fire pit are untreated logs. The river is about a half mile away on a gravel path. It was a comfortable walk but it would be hard to get a boat into it (there is a narrow boat ramp if you look hard for it, but you can't park there and there is no where to tie off a boat so you'll need 2 people). The house was clean for the most part, but it needs a deep clean. There were old cobwebs throughout the house and under the bed looked scary. We didn't communicate with the host as all of these didn't constitute and emergency but checking in using the key code was very simple and easy. For what we paid we weren't upset but we were disappointed.

Great house for a girls weekend

Host was fantastic, very responsive and spared no expense trying to make our stay enjoyable. House was clean and had everything needed. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Relaxing hideaway

Private, secluded home near river with large yard and hot tub building. Excellent place to spend time recharging yourself.

Just Wonderful

Very good stay. Everything was in order and well stocked. Would stay there again and again. Even the birthday "surprise" to celebrate our Friend's birthday was terrific; fresh flowers and birthday card; very impressive. Thanks to all who manage and support this house; everything was really great.

West Va Weekend

In Springfield for family B day party The 3 bedroom home was large enough for 6 adults The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes,pots and pans and even spices. The property was large and has a detached porch with hot time which backs to a stream. This house was perfect for our needs.

Very cute house. Loved the Christmas decorations and personal touch of gifts under the tree. Very well stocked kitchen. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Great trip.

Inside the house every AC was gross and packed full of debris and needed vacuumed to kind of get them clean, realistically they needed to be taken apart and hosed down. There were so many dead bugs in the bedrooms around the windows, and lots of cobwebs throughout the house like it hadn't been dusted since the last checkout weeks prior. The water has a super strong sulfur odor, which makes showering quite unpleasant. The short walk to the river is not what myself or my group would consider a short walk, especially if you spent a few hours in the water and had to then walk back to the house with your stuff. If you plan on using the hot tub gazebo make sure you have an up to date tetanus shot as the wire mesh they built it with is cut with lots of pokey stabby ends exposed, a few of which got our group. One thing that may just be us being nitpicky, a lot of the outlets are loose and struggle to hold a plug so you have to play macgyver in order to use them. Overall the "Potomac River Retreat" served its purpose for our stay, but if we ever end up in the Springfield WV area again, we will not be revisiting. This house feels oversold and under-delivered.

Nice getaway

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s River home! The house was perfectly decorated with attention to every detail. The river was a short walk away and our family rented a golf cart from Ft Ashby Hardware to make it even easier to get around. Kimberly was so attentive and willing to help when we needed an itemized receipt. I will definitely be back for another relaxing trip!

Had a lovey time in this Gem hidden home off river Potomac

Took my mom boys and brother to fish, swim, and relax. House was fully equipped with all your needs and then some. The decor bedding washer/dryer and beautiful hot tub room was a perfect retreat from city life. Five min walk to the Potomac river, 10 min drive to food/beer. Had a lovely time looking forward to booking with the host again she was friendly and quick to respond!

Peace and quiet

Thoroughly enjoyed waking up every morning. To hot tub and birdsong. The house was quaint and inviting, and had almost everything you might need. Outdoor areas could use some tidying up and the neighborhood is a little hillbilly, but had a truly enjoyable stay. Gave me a small taste of what I am hoping for in retirement.

My family and I had a great stay - A wonderful location and comfortable rooms. The hot tub is a nice touch in the back. I love being able to explore nature, far away from cell phone reception.It wasn't obvious how/where to use the kayaks, so we left them alone, but the water was moving too fast to use with children anyway. Also, I highly recommend carefully following directions with the toilet - The signs are very helpful! Septic systems are very sensitive.Overall, my family had a great time and we would love to return.

Wild and Wonderful WV Trip

Love the location and the house layout! Decor was really nice and loved that we had a kitchen with the ability to cook. Recommend dish and hand towels. Plenty of towels and comfy beds! Enjoyed the surrounding area and the view of the mountains. Front porch was great for relaxing with a cup of coffee or reading a book. Enjoyed the wildlife while spending time outside. It was peaceful and the hot tub was perfect with the screened in area. Does need a spring cleaning in some areas, but otherwise it was good.

Couple's Getaway

This property was clean, modernly decorated and well furnished/supplied. It would sleep 6 but it is small. We were just the 2 of us and it was good. Like someone else said in their review, the neighborhood is not visually nice but the rental property itself is nice. We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the hot tub. For an issue we had, the owner responded very promptly.

Was OK

The house was ok and as advertised. The neighborhood is not very nice but that is not the owners fault. Otherwise everything was there that was supposed to be and the owner was good at communication. The house was a little musty when we first arrived but that went away. Also, the owner was very accommodating when I had to cancel the first time and gave me 100% refund even though they didn't have to. Then I rebooked at a later date.

We rented this for out of town wedding party members to stay. When one of the groomsmen and his girlfriend went into the bedroom, on top of the bed at the foot was over 10 spiders, She freaked out. They tried to get them off of the bed. They called me and my husband went to the place and he killed several spiders that were still there. The girlfriend went to go wash her hands and there was a spider that came out of the faucet. She then had a full blown panic attack and refused to stay there. I immediately called the owner and I had to leave a voicemail message. Over 2 hours later, I left her another voicemail. In the meantime, We had to find a room for the groomsmen and his girlfriend. After the bridesmaids heard about the spiders, they refused to stay there allso. So it was almost 11 o’clock and we were trying to find alternate places for them to stay. At going on midnight, I sent here a text message. She called me about 7:30 the next morning while I was driving to the wedding venue. She acted like she didn’t that there was a problem. I’m not sure how she knew to reach out to me then. Unfortunately the phone call with her was cut short due to the phone service in the area. In short, she said this West Virginia and that she couldn’t control the wildlife. She didn’t offer a discount or a refund. All that she offered was that her cleaning crew could come and check it out. Bottom line, I paid for a house that wasn’t able to be used and for hotels rooms also!

Hidden Gem

Great property! It was very comfortable with all the amenities we needed and more. We used the kayaks to do 3 hours of kayak fishing from the bridge a few miles down the road back to where the property is located. Great stretch of river! Will definitely return!
