100 year old Farm Cottage. Minutes from the beach!

This quaint, rustic cottage is located in the community of Cedar, just south of Nanaimo, on an accessible, yet secluded acreage.

It is walking distance to the beach and boat launch and amazing trails, yet less than 15 minutes from downtown Nanaimo, as well as both ferry terminals and the airport.

The quiet yard is surrounded by beautiful old maple, walnut, and fruit trees and overlooks the horse pasture and pond. It is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful morning cup of coffee or an evening sunset.

An attached games room includes ping-pong, air hockey and foosball tables, as well as a dart board, for all to enjoy and entertain a family. Kids big and small, young or old will love it.

The cottage boasts a cozy master bedroom on the main floor, situated off the main living area, and next to the bathroom. Upstairs is split in the middle with two additional attic-style bedrooms.

A double futon is available in the living room, as well as a single sized roll out cot, both with supplied linens for additional guests. Also provided is a Graco pack and play, playpen for your little one.

This 100+ year old original farmhouse has been freshly renovated, keeping its original rustic charm. We love it and think you will too!

$50 cleaning fee for first couple ($25/guest thereafter)

This cottage is located on our farm property, where where you may encounter our horse and our large friendly dog.

Amazingly cozy cottage with the perfect atmosphere for relaxation on the island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hosts were responsive and friendly. Property was clean and well-stocked with essentials.

What an amazing place! Set in the countryside with a resident horse and dog, this is an ideal vacation away from city life. We walked to the end of Barnes Rd and climbed down the rope to the ocean. We had the place to ourselves. The tide was out and the ocean floor was covered in sea life which the kids loved investigating.The host was so welcoming to our large family and the place itself had loads of indoor and outside seating. Thank you from all of us!

We loved ur cosy stay at the old far cottage. The hosts were so quick to respond, and our time at the cottage was quiet and peaceful. We loved the walk to Cable Bay, and there’s lots of small town charm to enjoy. The stairs to the beds upstairs are steep so something to be mindful of if you have mobility issues. We would stay again. Thanks for a great time!

The cottage was a great base for our family while we stayed in the area for a wedding. It was comfortable and clean with a well stocked kitchen. Lacy was very responsive. Our kids loved the games room and saying hello to the horse.

Had a fabulous time at Foggy Knoll cottage! Cottage was well equipped and my kids loved Ronnie the horse! The games room was also a big hit. Hope to return again soon!

The cabin is in a kid friendly setting. We were great full for the random condiments that we had forgotten to pack. Has a nice view into the horse pasture and games room for kids and adults alike.Upper two rooms are accessed via a steep staircase and is not ideal for toddlers or seniors.

We had a wonderful stay at this property while attending our son’s wedding nearby. The location was absolutely perfect—just minutes from the venue, which made the entire week so much more enjoyable and stress-free.The home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. It was a welcoming place to relax and spend time with family between the wedding festivities. The hosts were friendly, responsive, and made the check-in and check-out process seamless.One of our favorite parts of the stay was seeing the horses every morning. It was such a special touch, and it made the weekend even more memorable knowing they were also part of our son’s wedding photos.We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for helping make such a special weekend even more unforgettable!

The cottage was a great experience! The place was clean and comfortable equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed all the games in the game room, watching some classic DVD movies, and cooking on the Blackstone griddle. The place is very quiet and peaceful, and we loved listening to the frogs in the evenings. We also enjoyed exploring the trails around Cable Bay. Our host Lacy was fantastic and it was nice seeing Ronnie and Rosie walking around the property. Would highly recommend!

The place was beautiful and quiet. Lovely well stocked kitchen. The location is central to everything we wanted to do. The only thing that was a bit of an issue was the staircase to the 2nd floor. It's almost a ladder and impossible for people with age challenges or disabilities. Well worth the price. Would return.

Christmas in the cottage! It was easy because the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a festive dinner. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the games room would have been fun but it was quite chilly out so didn't spend much time out there. This is a great place for a family to stay and would highly recommend it.

Everything was great! Check in was simple and the kitchen was charming.The hosts took care of us by bringing us flashlights during a power outage. We had a great time in a lovely rural setting.

This property truly is a hidden gem. On a peaceful 10 acre farm our guests can truly unwind and absorb the tranquility of our rural lifestyle. We are walking distance to the beach and Cable Bay Trail community park, an amazing local hike that leads to Dodd's Narrows where sea lions and Orcas are often spotted. At the same time, we are within a short drive to any of Nanaimo's plentiful amenities.
