Wonderful little cabin

Cozy cabin, wonderful hosts, great location near the AT. Probably the most thoughtful host we’ve had, they’ve thought of everything from breakfast treats and extra linens, even dog treats.

Incredible Cozy Cabin

Great space to stay in! Very very cozy cabin with great views, and close to the local cities if you want to get out and about. Hosts were very supportive, communicative, and hospitality was through the roof. Would love to stay here again!!!

Cozy cabin

What a nice find! The cabin was comfortable and the porch was great. We enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the fall weather. Everything we needed was there. I wish we weee able to stay longer.

Quiet and cozy weekend getaway

We so enjoyed our weekend getaway! The cabin was a perfect cozy place for us. We especially enjoyed the large porch and spent many hours out there enjoying the scenery. The house was well stocked with everything that we needed. We would love to come back someday!

Idyllic Getaway

We stole away to the cabin for a quick weekend trip. The property was very well maintained, very clean, well-equipped for our needs, and picturesque to say the least. It's also conveniently situated only a stone's throw away from various food and recreation spots. We had a great time, and would encourage others to stay here without hesitation.

Fantastic log cottage

We stayed here during our sons wedding weekend. The property is amazing. It is wonderfully decorated with all the amenities. Our stay was truly a home away from home. We can’t wait to return. I’m surprised it’s not booked years in advance.

Absolutely stunning property

It is a pleasure to have discovered this location for a "gateway" that is not an excessive distance from home. The rustic charm of this cabin transports one to a simpler time, where connections with family and self were prioritized. The cabin is remarkably well-equipped, catering to every conceivable need. There is no need for concern about anything! The complimentary scones are truly delectable. I had never been particularly fond of scones until I tasted the ones provided in the cabin. The assortment of coffees and teas was equally impressive, offering a comprehensive selection. The gardens are visually stunning, and we thoroughly enjoyed leisurely strolls through them in the evening. The only aspect that cannot be altered, yet I wish it could be, is the external traffic noise from the nearby road. It is quite noticeable when outdoors, serving as a reminder of the modern world. Fortunately, this noise is not audible within the cabin's thick walls. We will be definitely back!

More than expected!

My wife, dog, and our 17 month old had a marvelous time at the cabin for 4 days. The dog loved the freedom of being in a fenced in yard. The baby had plenty toys to play with within the cabin. We enjoyed the view, the pony out back, and the beautiful garden every evening. It was exactly what we needed. The only thing we did not like was the orientation of the tub for the shower. We didn't mind it being open, but the orientation really limits the ability to move much in the shower.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Very well decorated, inside and out. We enjoyed the privacy and large yard for our dog. We hope to stay again some day for a longer period of time.

Perfect home away from home

So happy to have discovered this place! It looks and feels right out of a storybook and provided a really ideal place to come back to in between hikes and swims. Came here with my pup for a break from city life and the location was perfect to get to various state parks and Pebble Beach. Thanks to the wonderful host, I’ll definitely be back! Ps, I agree with the previous review about feeling safe here as a solo traveler!

down time

We spent 5 nights here while our grandson was attending a conference at Georgetown University.The area around Surreybrooke Cabin is beautiful.The grounds are quiet and well kept.There is very little traffic on the road leading to the cabin.The cabin is in reasonable proximity to several Civil War Battlefields which is where we spent our time away from the cabin.The cabin itself is very unique! the ground level consists of a living room and the outside porch is comfortable. the lower level is the kitchen area. What can I say! This cabin was extremely well stocked! The cooking utensils were in great condition and of good quality. I would however recommend that the knives be sharpened. We ate breakfast (thanks for the home made scones, my favorite) and our evening meal in the well appointed kitchen.One evening we grilled steaks out on the patio, which had everything you needed to grill.The upper level consisted of a very large bedroom. The bedding was comfortable and there were lots of sitting options. The shower arrangements were the only area were we had difficulty. The clawfoot tub adds nostalgia to the accommodations but it was extremely difficult to get in and out of due to the height of the sides and nothing to grab hold of. Also, the shower curtain leaves a lot to be desired! I personally would forget the nostalgia and put in a shower stall. On a final note, I would highly recommend Surreybrooke cabin and would certainly stay there again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
