The Roost on the Mountain has 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths and a sleeper sofa, sleeps 9. The Roost is 5 minutes from town and easily accessed by paved roads. Two levels of porches to view the serene mountains and Lake Chatuge - perfect place to capture the sunset while grilling out, 3 common spaces -great for entertaining the whole family. Countless activities located close by, Lake Chatuge for boating, fishing, swimming; hiking trails with incredible mountain overlooks and waterfalls; golf courses and vineyards close by, shopping, dining, and local concerts.

This was an ideal mountain home/chalet for our weekend getaway. Very comfortable with amazing views.

We have a group of Navy veterans and spoused that try to gather annually. These vets have known each other for 50 years. We lost one of the spouses to cancer this month and gather to attend her service. this home was a beautiful place and so very comfortable. We all had a c hance to sit on the deck and reminisce while watching the beautiful set. We had plenty of supplies and coffee and everything we needed. We hope to stay again for a more joyfull occasion

Not Able To Stay And Not Helpful Property Manager

The property is in a beautiful location and does have an amazing view. The cabin is nice inside and we were so excited when we first walked in. However, within 15 minutes of being there, my husband and son were having some kind of allergic reactions inside the cabin. We were here for a family reunion so we left at that time and went to visit family at another rental. They were totally fine after leaving. I contacted the property manager asking if there were cats there because that’s one thing my husband is very allergic too. She said no and I let her know they were having some kind of reaction to something in the cabin. Upon returning late that night, within 15 minutes it started again with my husband and son. It quickly spread to myself and my other four children. Everyone was itching, sneezing, having itchy throats, and my son with asthma was having a hard time breathing. We knew there was no way we could stay there and quickly packed up. We rented two hotel rooms and I contacted the property manager to let her know what was happening and to see what needed to be done going forward. It was late at night so I understood she might not be able to respond. The next morning she stated other people have stayed there with no reactions and that it was cleaned Tuesday and she would leave our code active until checkout day, but there was nothing else to do. I let her know we have stayed at many other rentals and never had an issue like this. We loved the house and were incredibly sad we couldn’t stay there. Because she wouldn’t send anyone to check on it or do anything else to help, we asked to pay for one night (even though we didn’t stay there) and the cleaning fees and other fees and just see if she would refund the other three nights. She said she is sorry but the cancellation policy is clear that we needed to cancel 14 days ahead for a partial refund. This response made no sense because we didn’t want to cancel. We came to the property and loved it and wanted to stay. We didn’t know there would be issues. Her responses were defensive and she never offered any kind of help or solution. We couldn’t stay there at all and to find other accommodations. We’ve always had such amazing and gracious owners, so this was surprising and disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Hiawassee Retreat

This property is so amazing! The check-in/check-out process was painless. The cabin was in such a convenient location and easy to drive to with a minivan. So much to do in the surrounding areas. The house has anything you could reasonably need for comfort and convenience. So clean and pretty with more than enough space for our family of 5. The view!!!—it is breathtaking! A soul soothing, comfortable, relaxing experience. Thank you for letting us experience this home!
