We fell in love with this house and named it The Rosé Retreat, as it is meant to be a place to get away from it all. Perhaps enjoy a bottle (or more, we're not judging) of Rosé while you're here.

You may wonder why these unique houses are called “Tents.” Our neighborhood was designed with the history of Wesleyan Grove on Martha's Vineyard in mind, borrowing from the "tent communities" that sprang up around 19th-century revival meetings. These Tents are charming replicas of the Carpenter Gothic Style Victorians of that time.

The property was great! We went with our two younger children and they had a great time in the community pool. On our visit, the pool was closed for 2 days but the host left us a gift card for a local kids entertainment complex. Very much appreciated! Everything was very clean and it is a lovely, quiet getaway surrounded by nature. Highly recommend!

This home was beautiful, in a lovely setting, and very comfortable with everything we needed to settle in and enjoy ourselves. Tara was quick to respond to questions. This could not have been a better spot to relax for our three nights. We hope to come back.

Short Getaway

The Rosé Retreat was perfect for our short getaway. It was just my wife and I but it could have easily accommodated 4 more adults. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a relaxing, low key experience.

We had a wonderful stay at the Rose Retreat! The house is lovely and the hosts are so kind and attentive. Smooth check-in process and great communication. It is such a cozy home with many nooks and spaces to spread out and find just the right vibe. It is in close proximity to town while providing a serene, quiet space to kick back and relax amongst the trees with friends/family. Highly recommend!

Everything was exceptional from the initial contact with the property owners through checkout. The house was clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. Tara and Roxanne left us a welcome tray of goodies as well as a bed and bowls for our dog. We have been looking at renting this property for over a year, and it was everything we expected. Would recommend highly!

Relaxing weekend at Rose Retreat

Such a cute house, from the soft beds for humans and dog, to gas fireplace and a bottle of wine in the fridge. We walked the dog around the neighborhood and into Irvington to The Local. Had a great meal at Tides Inn, explored York River and Belle Isle state parks where we saw bald eagles. Had some cold days and warmer days - December is a great time to visit Northern Neck. Need more time to check out the antique malls.

Charming cottage in great location

My sister, nephew and I stayed at The Rose Retreat over Fourth of July while visiting extended family in the area. The cottage was perfect for the three of us and the location can’t be beat. The decor is lovely and we really enjoyed sitting on the screened porch. We didn’t cook any meals besides breakfast but the kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to find everything. Tara communicated well and even left us a thoughtful welcome tray and bottle of rose. I will definitely consider staying at The Rose Retreat again!

Fantastic stay like being in a luxurious tree fort! Especially enjoyed the screened porch. Wonderful that each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom. Gathering space on the middle floor was perfect for our group of 4, with friends over seats 8 comfortably. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this special spot and hope to visit again someday.

Great Experience

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable home, providing plenty of spaces to gather or be alone. Hosts have thought of everything you forgot. If you’re visiting Irvington, this is the place to stay.

This 3BR/3BA is perfect for a family, group of friends or three couples to spread out. The primary bedroom and bathroom are located upstairs, with two additional bedrooms (both ensuite baths) located on the lower level. One bedroom opens to the patio facing the trees and creek, with an outdoor shower.

Wonderful restaurants are available in Irvington and nearby towns such as Kilmarnock and White Stone. The Washingtonian Magazine recently listed The Northern Neck as a Foodie Getaway!

Two kayaks are available for use, as well as four bikes.

There are also 3 lovely Virginia State Parks along the shoreline of the Northern Neck—Caledon and Westmoreland border the Potomac River, and Belle Isle hugs the Rappahannock River to the south. All of that shoreline offers beautiful views, boating, and birding.

Hughlett Point Natural Area Preserve contains exemplary undeveloped beaches, dunes, and upland forests.

COMING SOON! Windmill Point County Maritime Recreational Campus: Public Beach and a 450’ long fishing and observation pier in the Rappahannock River.

For kids and kids at heart, Compass Entertainment Center is located nearby. They offer 6 screen movie theater, arcade, go-carts, mini-golf, and rock climbing.
