Lots of open space. Very clean. Host was very responsive to questions. Tight parking but we were able to park 3 vehicles in the space. Highly would recommend for rental. Bedrooms spaced between 3 floors for personal down time.

Chimney Rock weekend

The property was very conveniently located, and had all the amenities we could have hoped for. I'd definitely recommend.

We have a special place in our hearts for Chimney Rock, having stayed there before Helene and immediately after. We wanted to support local businesses and those recovering, including staying at a VRBO in the area. Overall, we were happy with this house but there were a few glitches...the doors had 2 different type door locks that were finicky at times. The toilet on the 3rd floor backed up the 1st morning and we had a little difficulty in reaching the host through VRBO and calling her directly. When she responded we learned she was actually contacting the plumber before responding to us. It was a new system so not sure what happened, but the plumber came out quickly and fixed it while were out for the day. The downstairs unit: missing a curtain rod in the bedroom, the kitchen curtain would not close all the way due to a poorly repaired rod. Housekeeping: coffee was provided but expired in 2023, a moldy jelly jar in the cupboard. Upstairs: Not enough bathmats but there was extra towels which we appreciated. Some of the knives had food remnants. Trash bags were supposed to be provided but there were no extras. Overall, there seemed to be an issue sending messages through VRBO. When we arrived it was hot and musty, each bedroom had its own floor AC unit which we turned on. The nights were cool so we considered opening windows but there were no screens...might have been nice if someone had come in to assess it before we arrived and check on the housekeeping. We did see a bear !

Location was good, house was very clean. Only suggestion is to get a decent can opener, lol. Enjoyed the stay

Weekend Getaway

The property we as quirky! Which is a good thing. Very clean, easy to access the house. Parking was iffy but hey it's the mountains right! My only down size would be that there were not extra sheets for the fold out couch and the upstairs living room had a window unit but not the downstairs. It was very uncomfortable. Oh and you can't turn the lights off in the living rooms without turning the fan off. So the kids sleep with lights in their eyes.

Hi Jillian, so glad you found our chalet clean and easy to access (and quirky too!). Really appreciate the additional feedback as we are not new hosts, but the listing is new, and we want to make the chalet as comfortable as possible for guests.

Chimney Rock Chalet Aug 2022

Great location! Quiet, peaceful. There was an extra visitor - a bear who got into the bear proof dumpster. Kitchen stocked with everything making it easy to cook meals. The 1st floor the kitchen sink had hot water, but the shower did not. There was not an air conditioner in the living area making it hot. The 2nd floor the refrig was very small for a group of people. The light/fan didn't allow anyone to sleep on the sofa. The 3rd floor group had issues with the toilet and bathtub so they had to use the 2nd floor. We had 2 falls down the steps, myself and my daughter. I was OK, but my daughter broke her foot. The steps curved and when you come down the steps the floor and steps blend making it easy to miss the last step. This slowed us down so we enjoyed the wrap around porch and local area. Once the host can eliminate some of the quirks this will be a great vacation home. I must say that Gretchen went out of her way to help with several issues, which was greatly appreciated.

Wonderful Getaway

Everything was great! Very spacious, clean and pretty 🤩 Right down the street from shops and plenty of spots to relax by the river and have a beer. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!
