We had a great stay at the Dance Hall. The cottage was charming and well-supplied with everything we could think of during our stay. We especially enjoyed swimming in the lake and spending the evening roasting marshmallows around the fire pit.

What a fantastic place to get away for my 65th birthday! Instant relaxation, so quiet and well appointed, immaculate, unique house. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his first swim and lovely walks down the private roads. My son went paddleboarding for hours every day. Host was top notch in communication, we look forward to visiting The Dance Hall again in the future!

We had a lovely stay here over the thanksgiving weekend! The hosts were very helpful and reached out in advance to let us know it might be a bit chilly but we were more than warm enough with the fireplace. Our dog absolutely loved spending the morning in the covered porch and the afternoons in the lake. Would definitely stay again!

The property was as described in the hosts VRBO site and very well equipped. We were thrilled that we could bring both our dogs. The area was beautiful and very peaceful. The only thing I’ll point out is if you are looking for a place without neighbors close by, this isn’t the place. We were surprised at how close the neighbors were on one side and the boat launch for the other neighbors was pretty much attached to our dock. Other than that, we had a wonderful vacation and Parker, our host was very attentive and it never took him long to answer any questions I had.

Midsummer nights

Beautiful cottage with tasteful decor. Swimming was excellent, screened in porch was superb, Charleston Lake-- simply sublime.

So much serenity

A truly authentic lakeside experience. We arrived to find everything as described and felt the weight lift from our shoulders as we soaked in the surrounding trees and calm of the lake.After a good sleep, the next day on the lake in kayaks was truly special.Making memories that last a lifetime for our children in a place like this is truly a privilege that will not soon be forgotten.Highly recommended accommodation and location!

Cozy Cottage on Charleston Lake

We loved our 3 days and 4 nights at The Dance Hall. The wood burning stove was enjoyed and appreciated as the weather was quite cool and wet. We loved listening and watching the loons, geese and herons from the dock. We did some paddling in the kayaks provided around islands not too far from shore. The cottage is filled with interesting antiques, cookbooks, a record player and records. We would love to come again.

Dancehall Magic

My mother and sister and I were looking for a getaway with character and authentic charm and the Dancehall exceeded all expectations. A beautiful property in a wonderful location, we were rained out the whole week and didn’t feel like we missed out at all! So much to do in the area and so much not to do, just relaxing at the cottage would have filled our days. The massive dock and stunning view of the lake were special even on drizzly mornings. The cottage was beyond well equipped, my bed on the porch provided the best sleep I have ever had! Lovely finishes and attention to detail. We will be back, hopefully sooner than later!
