Our second visit did not disappoint! This timber solid home with amazing surroundings is a gem of calm and quiet. She’s like a favorite old comforter with all the amenities of modern life.

Showers too small. Bed was too hot. Washing machine was broken. They only left 2 rolls of toilet paper and 1 trash sack for a 7 day stay. Light bulbs were out and house is dimly lit. The parking spot is on a slope and a bit of a walk to the house. And I caught 3 mice. On the positive side it is a usable space in a lovely location and very peaceful. It just needs to be better cared for considering the price.

This guest was a just awful! They left five bags of garbage in the house which brought in mice. The parking is 25 feet from the front door yet they drove their vehicle all over the front lawn, it is not steep whatsoever. They broke the washing machine upper control panel and left the house in a total mess. My cleaning lady called me crying about how they treated the house. Please read our other reviews. This is the kind of guest we all dread to have in our homes.

Angel fire adventure.

Wonderful cabin. Quiet and clean with a very rustic but creature comforts feel. Lots of space for outdoor activities. Lots of wildlife to watch. Absolutely beautiful place.

This was a wonderful place to stay, comfortable bed, quiet. It is right off the highway though so not exactly secluded ranch getaway if you’re looking for a cabin in the middle of nowhere. To help with next guests comfort, we could have used fire starter, a lighter, and decaf coffee and hot tea options would add to comfort. Thank you again for the comfortable stay.

The listing for this property shows conflicting information as to the location of the house. The map and distance to points of interest shows it centrally located, but the description states it is 9 miles away from town. Due to weather and planned activities, we needed a nearby place.The host did respond to my request to cancel, but to date has not responded to my request for a partial refund. We never saw the house or checked in.

The site clearly states that we are 8 miles from Angel Fire. She cancelled after check in time and then demanded a full refund. She was a very unreasonable person.

Stunning defines this home and surrounds. The thick timber walls, wood floors and abundant windows with gorgeous views surround you with quiet and beauty. It is history with today’s luxuries and everything we needed from comfy beds to a well-equipped kitchen and the convenience of the washer/dryer and internet. Our host was responsive to our questions and very gracious. We will definitely return!

Peaceful Cabin getaway

Such a cool getaway! The elk heard was one of the coolest parts. Sitting on the patio and watching the stars. We heard the Elk sounds and seeing them in the distance was memorable. My family enjoyed it. Short drive to Angel Fire for Groceries etc. Cabin has a good feel inside. Thanks for sharing this!

Perfectly quaint family getaway!!

We had a lovely stay at the Black Lake Ranch! Astounding views of all ranges of wild life. We were a little sad there was no hot tub but a little morning snow made up for it. Absolutely beautiful home & great communication between the owner. So thankful we got to stay here for my Dad’s 62nd birthday!!

The place itself is really nice, it has beautiful views, good location (only 15m drive from the ski area), has tv, internet, kitchen, all the stuff you'd want out of a place like this.Unfortunately the bathroom didn't get cleaned from the previous renters. There was stains in the toilet, toothpaste and hair stuck to the sink and a giant pile of dirty towels in the bathtub that we had to wash. Mind you, if you leave dirty dishes in the sink upon checking-out there's a 50 fee. It brought into question the cleanliness of everything else and we wondered if it had been cleaned at all. The dishes on the drying rack hadn't been put away either.

Regrettably, the calendars of VRBO and another site were not loading properly for a while and the house did not get cleaned. The calendars seem to be in sink now. My deepest appologies, we have a five-star cleaning rating.
