Host was very helpful. The house was beautiful and well maintained. The location was excellent. Quiet and serene. Fell in love with the neighbor’s cat.

Our third stay at this wonderful, relaxing house... guess that tells you how much we enjoy it! We spent all our week long stay just hanging out watching the water, the birds and the passing boats. So peaceful and quiet.The house had everything we needed and it was superbly decorated for fall.

Beautiful home in an awesome location. Everything we were looking for on our getaway.

We had a great experience. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. We were able to spend a long relaxing weekend by the lake.

lovely stay on the lake with a multi-generational family. Lots of room to spread out in the house as well as multiple seating areas outside. We cooked all of our meals, and the kitchen was very well stocked with spices/cookware. You couldn't walk in to the lake from the yard (vegetation, debris), but easy to access water from the dock. We brought our own kayaks.

The house and property were immaculate. Everthing went wonderful and it gave us the perfect setting to relive all our childhood stories. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Awesome

Home was beautiful, inside and out. It rained most of the time we were there, but that was fine, there are so many windows to sit and watch the rain. This is the cleanest home we have had the pleasure of staying in, cleaning crew must be amazing. The home was in an area that was convenient to everything. You will want to return here again and again, furniture and beds are so comfy, the electric fireplace was cozy with the rain going on. Thank you for allowing us to stay here. We loved it. One thing I do want to mention is that time goes by to quickly here. Lol

House on shoal creek in Killen, Al

Nice house on water with boat dock. Host said husband would meet me at check in, but he was not there. Front door keypad did not work on arrival. Called host & tried several other codes which did not work. After hanging up host called back later and gave me garage door code to get house keys. I checked batteries in keypad but no AA batteries in house. Host said she was out of town but would come “early next week” to fix problem. Host never came or called back. Host messaged 2 days prior to my departure. I asked why she didn’t come fix door. “Slipped my mind”. I messaged back that for a $3,000 rental that was not acceptable, citing delay at check in and inconvenience of using back door all week. I requested refund equal to 1 days rent cost, $330. I have not heard back from host.

John, Thank you for sharing your feedback, and I truly apologize for the inconvenience caused by the keypad situation. I appreciated your patience while I worked through that and having to call the manufaturer to help me diagnose the problem. I thought having keys to all doors was the solution. Regarding entrance to the front door, the key was included with the set of keys provided for your stay. I’m sorry if this was unclear, and we’ll certainly make sure the instructions are more straightforward in the future. As for my husband’s visit, he was only scheduled to oversee some necessary maintenance, not for check-in. We were able to arrange this for a time when you were not at the house to avoid any disruption to your stay. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the house and the view of the water and hope you will give us a second chance on a trip back.
