The location to the downtown area, distilleries is excellent. The house has a few items that need fixing. The patio did not have a lock and no way to secure it. Contacted the management company and sent photos but received no assistance. We had to put furniture against the patio door at night to feel secure. Once that is fixed, I would recommend staying at the property.

We had the best time! Second time staying at this location - first time was on the first floor. A great location and very welcoming! We'll be back!

Responsive Host

We had a great stay. The town is very walker friendly. The home is comfortable and met all our needs. We enjoyed our stay and will put it on our return list.

Great Getaway!

It was the perfect place to rest and recover after a few long days on the Bourbon Trail! Only 7 minutes from Buffalo Trace!!!

Beware!! management and /or owner issues

Upon arrival, (late/after midnight due to evening events in Lexington) we found NO key in the lockbox and a non responsive keypad- we were unable to enter the home. Despite reaching out to the owner/management/vrbo multiple times, and unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, we were forced to find and pay for a hotel to sleep that night. The communication with the management/owner was disjointed and unhelpful, with no real effort made to address the problem. We were repeatedly and insultingly told to ‘use the code to find the key in the lockbox’ even when we were reporting an empty box. At one point we were even asked to take an ‘picture’ of the empty box as proof. That next morning a message was sent ‘hoping we were enjoying our stay etc’/ clearly automated, but wildly inappropriate given we hadn’t even been able to enter the home yet! After many unsuccessful trips to the home the following morning, and more messages and calls to Vrbo and owner, a key mysteriously appeared after noon while we were out finding lunch. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the inconvenience caused, in fact there was NO more communication after that key arrived. This experience resulted in unplanned expenses, precious wasted vacation time, and maximal frustration. We have opened a case with Vrbo and are appealing for partial compensation. The lack of responsibility and follow-up communication leaves me with no desire to risk staying at this property again.

This property is great but being managed by a rental company. Responses to inquiries are generic and take awhile. There is also construction occurring in the area. During our stay there was jack hammering occurring on the overnight.

The cutest town! We’ve stayed here twice in two years. The candy store across the street has coffee too! It’s an old home in a beautiful old neighborhood, old stairs, nice big shower and old woodwork charm. One more fan would be helpful for the hot summers. Walkable to the food & shops!
