Rustic log barn cabin (1,500 SF) with wrap-around covered deck (3 sides, 500 SF) - originally built as a horse barn in the 70's, was converted to a family cabin in the late 70's. I bought it from my brother in 2020 and completely remodeled it with new bathrooms (2), kitchen/appliances/cabinets, wrap-around deck, bay window and seat, and hydronic heating system. We're in the heart of Quartz Creek Valley with beautiful views all around. This is alos across the street from our other cabin (listed on VRBO) 2 124 Gunnison Street, aka "Island In the Sky". If you're an old pilot you should recognize the significance of the two names we've called our cabin . . .

Thank you, CP for your comments. It IS an awesome place. We actually discussed window treatments but ultimately decided against it as we felt it would clutter the beautiful log interior. Also, the perimeter overhang somewhat provides a glare barrier from the outside . . . Thanks, again!

Great place to stay to trail ride in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!

We enjoyed being out in the mountains with our family! It was a nice quiet little town. Perfect place to get away! Can’t wait to go back!

We have been staying at this cabin for years and in my opinion the best VRBO in the area for hunting, hiking, relaxing, or anything you dream up to do in the mountains. My wife stayed for two nights and absolutely loved it! We’ll be planning a family vacation stay this summer.Scott is the greatest host and very accommodating!Thank you for everything Scott!

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful place to stay. Comfortable beds, everything we needed whilw we stayed. Very accomidating host. Definately recommended!

Wonderful quiet place

Gorgeous cabin aesthetic. Comfy beds. Loved sitting on the porch in the evenings.

We enjoyed our stay immensely! Purpose of our stay was to hunt fourth season rifle elk but the highlight was our stay at the High & Mighty Cabin. The hunting was hard work but the cabin was comfortable and cozy. Scott the host was quick to respond, nice, and welcoming into his families cabin. I highly recommend for any Colorado season.

Dirtbike getaway

Awesome place!

Scott and family did an awesome job on this cabin! Great place to stay and explorer the outdoors! As always Scott is awesome to work with and easy to schedule, communicate with. Highly recommend if you are going to the Ohio City area!

Thank you, Justin. Having two (2) cabins across the street form each other really gives large families/groups options. The remodel of the Barn Cabin was done by my nephew and his construction company, Quartz Creek Company. We couldn't be more thrilled with the way it turned out!

Dirtbike trip

The cabin was in a great location for us for dirt biking in the area. Beautiful cabin fully stocked with everthing we needed for the time we were there. The area was beautiful and very relaxing as well. Hope to stay again next year

Barn Cabin

We really enjoyed our stay at Scott's barn cabin. The cabin is comfortable and nicely furnished. Scott was also very accommodating and easy to work with.

We were thinking that we didn't want to clutter the countertop, but have decided it could also be stored in the cabinet & brought out to use as necessary.

Fantastic Experience

Great experience renting from Scott again. Loved the new cabin, location, and amenities. Always excellent communication and clean, well stocked properties. Be sure to stop at Waunita Hot Springs during your stay!

Family trip to mountains

Very peaceful mountain town. Great 4-wheeler trails! Super fun giant teepee in the backyard. The house was excellent. Lots of thirsty hummingbirds so bring your hummingbird feeder! We had a blast!
