Beautiful home, problems with communication
Had better. Had worse. The house itself is beautiful, was super clean, well decorated, inviting and stocked with essentials. Great location. I had a lot of difficulty reaching the host on multiple occasions. Emailed host twice before trip, called and texted her with no reply. Called the Miramar Beach office location upon arrival multiple times, no answer, Finally, found a contact number on vrbo/vacasa website and used that. Found out after the fact that the host no longer worked for the company but that information was never updated on my reservation. The air conditioner unit went out on our last two days there. It was beyond miserable hot! I called the new property manager and she got maintenance as well as a HVAC company out the same day. Was contacted by relocation team. Unfortunately, no other homes were available that were similar to the one we had. They offered us two 2 bedroom 2 bath condos. Ultimately, we chose to stay in the hot house as we valued our time together since we all live in different states and this was our only time together for the year. We asked to be refunded for two nights, but was refunded for one night and an ammenity fee, which we accepted. I wish I would have pushed for both nights as it was really uncomfortable sleeping with a box fan in the window, but that's my fault for not being more assertive. I asked for additional AC units, but none were available. So 2 of us went without air conditioning.
