Welcome to the little cabin on the river. This unique and beautiful 1800's newly built cabin/house has wonderful views from all rooms on the Nantahala River. Set in the Nantahala National Forest. The river is popular for rafting, kayaking and trout fishing, mountain biking, and so much more. 300 Mystic River is mins from Bryson City, Great Smokey Mountain Railroad, Tail of the Dragon, and more. Also, only 50 mins from the Cherokee Harrah's Casino.

This house sleeps 6 adults comfortably with each room having king beds. Fully stocked kitchen and the great room that features a cozy old fashion fire stove 30 plus ft ceiling with 1800's old Amish oak barn timbers lighting, hardwoods throughout out, and Satellite TV. The views from the house and back patio will instantly go to relax all your senses and transport you into a state all euphoria for both the mind and soul! Imagine any evening in the hot tub or relaxing on the patio couch and outdoor fire pit or having a real cozy fire in the pit and roasting marshmallows. Just feet from the river. The large back patio and side porch are unbelievable for enjoying nature at its best and not to mention the sounds of the river!

Just what we needed

After the hurricane, this rest and reset was just what we needed. So many memories made that will always be remembered. The house was perfect and the host was very helpful and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Perfect Mountain Retreat on the River

Beautiful new home directly on the Nantahala River. Modern and clean, with a beautiful outdoor space, we enjoyed watching the kayaks and rafters moving down the river. The host was attentive and the home was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. The home was in close proximity to the Nantahala Outdoor Center which was our home-base for rafting and zip-lining.

Simply AMAZING!

I can't express how wonderful this house and location are. Before our stay, I thought a bit about the cost for a weeks vacation here but hours in to our arrival, the value of this rose by the minute. This place is truly second to none and provides such a unique view of the water, location to anything you would want to do and we just happened to be there while the weather was absolutely PERECT! The only thing we hated was the day we had to leave. Do yourself a favor and book this place, you will NOT be disapointed.

Riverside Retreat

Stayed for a long weekend with some friends. The house is wonderful. Very clean and nicely decorated. The outdoor space is great and the location is perfect. We spent so much time on the back deck watching the river it was perfect. Close to Bryson City and Andrews where there is plenty to do and places to eat.

What an amazing cabin on the river! Beautiful cabin that was everything we expected it to be. David, the host, was great to work with. We loved watching everyone raft down the river during the day and at night we enjoyed the peaceful sound of it. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit!

Slice of Nantahala Heaven

This property is perfectly located for all hiking and waterfall access. Close to the smokey mountains for exploration and about 15/20 min from a grocery store. Being directly in the river makes all the difference. Having 3 master suites is more than what our family needed but perfect for group travel. Paved roads leading in and level ground that makes the yard safe for kids and pets. The owner was awesome and provided great communication. I'm looking forward to hearing back in the summer! You're right down the way from NOC- Nantahala Outdoor Center for all tubing, kayaking, and adventure needs. Don't hesitate... this is a very special find!

Peaceful Nantahala

Property is just as advertised. Great size. Well appointed. River being so close brings such a wonderful ambiance and energy. Sitting on porch or even inside the home, we enjoyed the sound. Very relaxing. We look forward to returning to the home soon!

Great stay!

David’s home is a fantastic getaway. The location and surroundings are nothing short of amazing. We had six adults and felt very comfortable. David was also very attentive and checked in with us to see how we were getting along. Cell coverage was hard to come by and Wi-Fi was a bit weak, but we used the opportunity to really relax and unplug. That said, it’s hard not to give the home 5 stars. It’s beautifully appointed., clean and the location and view are truly amazing. If you’re looking to find a river setting look no further.

Paradise on the Nantahala River

We had a wonderful stay at David's home on the Nantahala River. The house is amazingly beautiful and well equipped. The back porch is to die for. Situated right on a whirling stretch of rapids the view and sound from the river is worth every penny paid. You could do nothing else beside sit on the back porch and you would have a fabulous time. David was very accommodating and always quick to respond. We all absolutely loved our time spent there. We can't wait to do it again. Thanks David.

Riverside Dream!

What a fantastic property! The layout of the home presents amazing river views from just about every location in the spacious living area. The back patio is only YARDS away from the river. Everything as described with comfortable bedrooms and a well appointed kitchen for cooking all weekend. The location is easy to access (no windy gravel mountain roads), and town services are only 20 mins away. The internet availability was a bit spotty, but the owner is upgrading technology soon to fix this. The private development's common area with islands and swings and gazebos is wonderful as well! Highly recommended property for an easy mountain getaway.

Weekend on the Nantahala

This rental was wonderful. The home is laid out so well and had everything we needed to enjoy our long weekend. We chose to eat in the first night and the kitchen was well stocked. Linens in the bedrooms/bathrooms were nice quality and beds were extremely comfortable. Having the internet and Dish were great for watching SEC football on Saturday although the outdoors took precedence over football this past weekend. The home is designed extremely well with views from all rooms. The highlight of the property is the back deck with the fire table and the hot tub. This gated community provides amazing scenery but we think this lot is by far the best. The host was very accomodating and check-in was easy. We'll definitely be return guests. Wish this home was my own

This home is not only amazing but the neighborhood and the view is also. You are located in a private gated community, the home is feet from the river and the views are amazing. The home is brand new, state of the art, and all the appliances and furniture are new also. Downstairs Master with access to the back porch and river along with a spacious bathroom and large tile shower. You can sleep to the sound of the rushing river then wakeup and sip your coffee on the porch overlooking the river and watch the kayak's and rafters go by. I love to fly fish and the water up and down from this home is perfect for it. Plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and a private road for a relaxing run or walk. My daughter and I enjoyed roasting marshmallows over a camp fire or you can just sit and relax with the outdoor gas fire pit and enjoy the view. We booked a guided rafting trip at NOC and went right by the house and neighborhood. Will definitely be booking again for a truly relaxing time in an amazing home.

The most amazing place

I’ve been down the Nantahala at least 50 times in my life. This was my first time actually staying on the river. This house was simply amazing. The design features, the property and the furnishings were all perfect. Of all the properties in Mystic River, this one has the best run of rapids at its back door. It’s unbelievable. And the inside of the house was immaculate. The designers thought of everything. There isn’t a spot in the house where you can’t see the river. They even used mirrored backsplash in the kitchen — so even if you turn away to cook on the stove you can still see the river. We will definitely be back. The owners were also super accommodating and responsive. The wifi isn’t strong but I actually preferred that — forced our family to disconnect. No cell coverage and slow internet forced us to put our devices away and enjoy all the property has to offer.

Absolute best place to stay on the Nantahala

My recent stay at this VRBO property on the Nantahala River was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the serene surroundings, spectacular sounds, and breathtaking views. The house itself was immaculate, well-appointed, and exuded a cozy yet luxurious charm that made us feel right at home. The interior of the house was very impressive. The open-concept living area was spacious and filled with natural light, offering unobstructed views of the river through large windows. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals, and enjoy them on the spacious kitchen island or large table. Another highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the hot tub. Nestled on the deck with a perfect view of the river, it provided the ultimate relaxation experience. Soaking in the warm water while listening to the river was pure bliss. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring the beautiful outdoors. The bedrooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated, providing a restful night's sleep with the soothing sound of the river in the background. The bathrooms were spotless and stocked with high-quality linens and toiletries, adding to the luxurious feel of the property. Location-wise, this VRBO couldn't be better. We enjoyed easy access to hiking trails, rafting companies (Nantahala Rafting with Fast Rivers about 1 mile away!), and the NOC only 8 minute drive away. Excellent property!

We enjoyed our stay and the home was excellent. The view and the sound of the river was amazing. If David will allow us to stay again, this will always be our go to. Location was close to so many things to do and the rafting was most fun.
