Escape on Lake is a recently renovated, family and dog friendly, rental property in the heart of Detroit Lakes. We are within walking distance to the city beach, boat access, park, hospital, hockey arena, and many local restaurants/bars. It is perfect for a family getaway or small gathering of friends, or for traveling employees. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, access to washer/dryer, fully loaded kitchen, and other basic amenities will make you feel right at home. Spacious yard for yard games and relaxing!!

My parents and I had a wonderful stay during my brother's wedding weekend. The house was perfect for us - exceptionally clean with little comforts that helped us through the busy weekend. Location was great walking distance from the lake and places to eat. 10/10 - would absolutely recommend.

The house was adorable. Walking down to the lake was probably my favorite thing and the parks all over just a few blocks away. We were traveling as a family with my grandchildren.And the height, chair and pack and play came in very handy. Did all of our cooking at the house and everything we needed was there. I will plan on staying at this cute little house again.

Everything in the description was to the T! Communication with the host was excellent, checking in upon our arrival and again at departure. Great location to walk to restaurants and downtown shopping!Love the coziness of an older home with all the updated modern amenities. Wonderful Girls Weekend at Escape on Lake!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay at Escape on Lake. We found the home very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The location was perfect for walks down by the lake and very close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. The host was very responsive when a small issue popped up while we were there. Don't hesitate to book this place for your next stay in Detroit Lakes!

Detroit Lakes Troll Adventure

Nice property!

Enjoyed our stay in this updated property. Appreciated the nice appliances, W/D on main level & two full lovely bathrooms as well as nice table out back. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout — coffee, laundry supplies, generous amount of towels, etc. Only suggestion is to clean up weeds in backyard but really so minor. Thank you — we hope to be back next year!

Great Getaway

I am originally from the area and visit often with my kids and my brothers kids. This was the perfect location! Walking distance from the beach, the mall, restaurants. You can walk to Zorbaz easily! The place was great. Cute & cozy. Very clean. Owners definitely paid attention to details. Owner checked in regularly to see if we needed anything. They had a cute little gift basket w a note waiting which was so nice. Absolutely gem of a house & location.

Best place to stay to see Dambo trolls

The hosts were attentive and gracious. The home was well set up for shared and private time. There were lovely soaps and shampoos in the restrooms. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and there are indoor and outdoor eating areas. Though some in our party have lived in MN for decades and others had been to the state a dozen times, we'd never been to Detroit Lakes, MN. We came to visit this quaint town and also to see Thomas Dambo's six trolls. The first troll is a 10 minute walk from this home. The other five trolls are a short drive. In visiting the trolls we saw many natural parts of MN which were beautiful and welcoming. The trip refreshed our souls and the home was a great place to return to each day and share meals.

Great location

We were a family of 4 staying over the New Year Holiday. This property is a fantastic location. Walkable to Zorbaz, Washington Street, and the beach. We skied at DL Mountain, and that was only a short drive away. Property was very clean. Communication was great. There are two covered parking spots off the street. Each of my teenagers took a bedroom upstairs and my husband and I stayed on the daybed (with trundle) on the main level. The main level (off the kitchen) is where the shower is. Don't worry if you don't get a code to check in the day before, Chris sends it 30 minute prior to check in time.

The host was great at communicating - he responded right away and also provided a very nice welcome manual with all of the information about the house and town. The house was ideally located - within blocks of the lake, city park, grocery store, and downtown area. The house itself was beautifully renovated and had two large bathrooms (one with a free standing tub!). The kitchen was huge and stocked with everything you could possibly need. There was a closet full of toys for kids of all ages (and adults). This is a super comfortable home that the owners have put a lot of time and love into. I'd highly recommend it to anyone coming to Detroit Lakes, and I'll definitely stay here the next time I come back!

Very cute house. The bathrooms were beautiful, could use another shower, but the tub was nice also. Kitchen was fully stocked and had things you don't expect to find! Close to the lake,bars,and restaurants . We all throughly enjoyed our stay!

This was a lovely home and perfect for our friends, our small dog, and us. It had a great entryway, beautiful kitchen with a keurig and dishwasher, and a full bathroom on the main floor with washer and dryer. There were two comfortable queen-sized beds, soft linens, and lots of pillows plus a second bathroom upstairs. We were able to walk to Zorbaz, and Lakeview, both of which had outdoor seating and excellent food. Chris was a great communicator, making check-in and check-out easy. We would recommend this house and will stay here again if we find ourselves in Detroit Lakes MN.

My wife and I enjoy using VRBO to see places and experience new things. We decided to become hosts after experiencing how wonderful and comfortable traveling is when using VRBO and felt that we could continue to enrich our fantastic little community by becoming hosts!

I have lived in Detroit Lakes for the last five years and am a local Chiropractor. My wife is a special education teacher and we enjoy all the fun things that our small town has to offer year round. Some of our hobbies include; spending time with our rescue pup on the many beautiful lakes, cooking healthy meals, biking, reading and participating in our community by attending different community events and volunteering through a local organization. We are always looking forward to our next adventure.
