Casa Cristal de Mar (Sea Glass House) was designed for our frequent visits, with every convenience available for us and now for YOU.

Surf, walk and play on the beautiful miles long beach, just a short two minute walk from the house.

This house is set up for pure relaxation. Hang out in one of the hammocks while reading that book you have been meaning to finish or start up a game of ping pong. Grab a refreshment and chill in the Rancho as you watch the monkeys in the trees above you.

Each bedroom has its own full bathroom, air conditioning and private entrance off of the patio with total privacy. Perfect for four couples or two families.

If you have to bring your work with you or just stay in touch with family and friends, stay connected with the fastest speed WiFi available in the area.

Fantastic property

Absolutely amazing property. Extremely clean and perfectly outfitted. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The pool is gorgeous and well maintained. There are several lovely seating areas outside which were well utilized. Honestly cannot say enough about this property. The property manager and staff were lovely and helpful. The only glitch was that someone had checked out late which slowed the cleaning staff down and prevented us from being able to check in at 3. They were happy to keep our luggage, which was nice, but after a redeye flight, I was kind of ready to get into the pool. However, in the grand scheme of things, that was a pretty minor issue. Be aware that there is construction next door that starts at around 6. NOT the fault of the property owners-just worth noting. Loved the property and highly recommend.

The ultimate vacation home

Rare J Section was the best vacation home we've ever stayed in. We had two families vacationing together and this was just what we needed. Everyone had nice, clean, cool and accommodating private spaces and the shared spaces were beyond perfect. The whole place was very clean, stocked well and perfectly set up for us to enjoy our days in Nosara area.The management team communicated very well before, during and after our stay and were there to help with anything we needed. The guest resources book helped us find amazing local guides and things to do. That was very nice.Little touches like having fresh water for us to drink and a million towels for all of our activities was great. The pool was like being at a resort and the kitchen areas made entertaining larger groups very easy. The area has a lot to do in walking distance and we couldn't have done it without the perfectly located complex.

Amazing home close to the beach

We had an amazing stay. The property was spacious. The bedrooms were. Ice and cold and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked and the outdoor area was fantastic!

Great stay in an awesome spot

We enjoyed our vacation time walking distance to the beach the road into here is a bit treacherous but we were able to navigate with a 2wd suv.

Could not have been more perfect

This place was the perfect spot for 13 firemen on a much needed getaway. Booking was simple, Pablo was wonderfully accommodating. When we arrived, Kathy greeted us with all the information we could need and even drove me to the local store to grab some snacks and beer for the fellas. Located in an ideal spot with a brief walk to surf or grab a coffee and a quick bite at Ventanitas. Everyone had such a great time. Thank you!!!

Casa Cristal Paradise

We had family reunion At Casa del Mar with our children their spouses and grandchildren. It took a lot of planning for a group of 13, and the facility exceeded our expectations. It was clean and very comfortable, lots of room to spread out. The property manager was top notch. He responded promptly to meet our needs. He had great tour recommendations and connected us with our tour guides. We did sport fishing which was so much fun; one of the boat crewman served the freshest and tastiest ceviche you would ever want. We went zip lining and the kids got to try surfing. The beach, tide pools, and house pool were perfect. In fact our five year old grandson is now swimming unaided! Thank you so much for the great memories!

Family vacation in Costa Rica

The property has a great location within Nosara (beach). Everything you need is a short walk or golf cart ride away. The pool was great and worked well keeping our 9 and 11 year olds occupied. The outdoor living space was large enough to give everyone a space to relax. The gated yard felt safe day and night. One of the biggest pluses about this property is the concierge service. The team was awesome and helped us book activities before we arrived and also helped us while onsite. I highly recommend leaning on them for help making the best of your trip!

Would stay here again - great house

This place is great. We liked that each room was isolated from the others and the rest of the house. The kids could stay up watching movies and we didn't hear them. All the outdoor space and the pool were awesome - even in the rainy season. The concierge was very helpful and we booked a cook to come in twice. Her cooking was excellent. We liked it so much I will say we would stay here again. Some of the reviews complain about the WiFi. We did have a few outages but I think it was across the neighborhood.

Great place!

Wonderful stay. Pablo met us at the house and was very informative. Property was as advertised. We even managed to sleep outside one night! Beach was a short walk and the pool was refreshing. If you like adventure, we recommend surfing lessons with Nelson, Macho ATV tours, Miss sky canopy, the "booze cruise" and if your lucky enough to be there when the turtles arrive or go back out, ask for Fransisco to take you. Definitely recommend!

Wonderful home for large groups

A fantastic home and just right for a family vacation with separate rooms and bathrooms and outside areas that allowed everyone to have plenty of space of their own and enough space to come together for dinner. Beach is easily walkable. Lots of places to eat close by including vegan and vegetarian options. And plenty of activities for the kids. Pablo, the concierge, helped me schedule everything, kept me up to date, and was very helpful. He was invaluable. I'd absolutely stay again.

Everything you could want

We were lucky enough to stay here for 6 days. I was surprised by how spacious the property is and the set up is perfect. Very similar to having your own tiny hotel- without the staff. Exactly what our crew was looking for. We saw monkey parades making their way about town in the evenings and early mornings. The house is close to the beach and a few restaurants. We asked our driver to stop on the way to the property to get groceries and we cooked a couple of times as well. The kitchen has everything you could need. The bedrooms are well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The pool is amazing and we enjoyed the ping pong table as well. Highly recommend staying here and visiting Playa Guiones

Love the location and the outside space

This house was prefect for us. 4 rooms with separate entrances and all bathrooms. Tiki hut. With bar extra mini fridge, as well as ping-pong table and ring game. We walk to the beach and town. Their rental property company is amazing and its what set them apart. Pablo answered all my questions (and i had alot) and booked all of our excursions with the most amazing companies. It was so turn key. Ww will be back!

Pura Vida

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at Casa Cristal Del Mar! There were just 4 of us so the property was a bit oversized for our needs and could have easily been comfortable for 5 or 6 more. Loved the pool and outdoor showers. Beds were quite comfy and bedrooms were dark and cool for sleeping. Kitchen was well equipped. Lots of outdoor shady spots for relaxing. The location was perfect - 5 minute walk to the beach down a jungle path, or to a variety of delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner choices. Golf cart and bikes were convenient and fun for getting around Playa Guiones. Property managers Pablo and Kathy were very helpful with various arrangements. We look forward to returning in the future. ( The option to throw in a load of laundry would have been nice, but we managed fine. )

Nice property, a little tired

We enjoyed our month at Cristal de Mar--the location can't be beat! We arrived after 7pm (thought we would be charged extra for that) but property manager told us how to let ourselves in rather than meeting us. We had a VERY difficult time finding the property in the dark! Pablo, our property manager, came by the next day to go through various details. He was incredible and very responsive throughout our stay, helping with everything from an evening turtle tour (amazing!) to wifi problems (which were often and quite frustrating--for three virtual workers--after being told how good the wifi was there). Housekeeping staff was very thorough and friendly--especially Lola, who came by most often. Gardening and pool attendants were very friendly and attentive, too. Problems that should be addressed: --Listing mentions security system, which we were told didn't work --Shower in Room #1 was either VERY hot or "off," nothing in-between --We were very disappointed in the wifi, which was spotty at best. Sometimes the problem seemed to be in the entire area but we found we couldn't rely on the wifi. --Dishwasher literally fell out of the cabinet whenever we opened it and never did clean the dishes well. --Would have been nice to have laundry facilities on property--especially as we were there for a month. All in all, we enjoyed our time at this property at Playa Guiones and enjoyed seeing/hearing monkeys, birds and other wildlife and loved the private pool.

Wonderful week in Nosara!

Can not say enough about our week in Nosara. It was the end of rainy season so the roads were definitely muddy…thankful to have secured a golf cart! The house was perfect for our group of 3 kids under 12 and adults. We didn’t end up using the outdoor beds bc bugs were pretty bad. We had a cook come in for three meals that were fabulous! Also had a private chef for thanksgiving, he was great as well. Wish the coffee pot was bigger ;) But there is a great place to get coffee 200ft from the house also. Can not say enough great things about Pablo, the house concierge. He was super responsive and very helpful. Wish he was more time to check out more restaurants!!!

Beautiful Destination

This is one of the most beautiful settings I’ve ever experienced while traveling in Costa Rica and for my family who were having their first adventure. The house was immaculate and had everything you could ever need available to you. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was exactly what we needed. The pool was beautiful and beyond refreshing when needed. There were cushioned chairs set up around this area and under the shaded roof. The table outside was impressive and could easily fit large groups. There were a few hardworking ladies who came in during the middle of the week to clean and take care of the bedding and pool/beach towels. The beach was literally a two minute walk from this house and a quick drive through the neighborhood to restaurants and shops.

Great spot

This is our second visit to Playa Guiones and we loved Casa Crista del Mar. We travelled with our 3 university age boys. It is a great place for a family with older kids or group of adults. Each bedroom has its own bathroom and separate entrance. The outdoor living space is fantastic and lots of options to join together or have your own space. The place is well maintained, pool is lovely, and kitchen is well equipped. The property manager was very responsive and helpful for any issues. The J area is great with close to beach, restaurants and surf shops. Highly recommend this spot!

Family time

Casa Cristal de Mar provided a beautiful and accommodating home base for our group of 10. It was very clean and kitchen was well stocked with supplies to create many wonderful meals. The walk to the beach was easy and used daily by most of us to enjoy beautiful Guiones. The Rancho area was amazing and was utilized by all of us daily for lounging, reading, conversing and many naps haha! The pool was the perfect spot to escape the afternoon heat for some. I received no complaints on the beds, we all had comfortable nights during our stay. Our teens were up in the loft for the first few nights and really enjoyed it until they needed a break from being so exposed and ended up on the bunk beds in our room. Thankyou for sharing your beautiful home with us! We made some priceless memories there and can’t wait to visit playa Guiones again.

Couldn't be happier!

Our group included two families of 4 each with teenage children. This property was absolutely perfect for our group. Proximity to beach and town was perfect. Property felt secure. Pool was amazing! AC in bedrooms was very welcome. Outdoor spaces very nice for outdoor eating and playing games, etc. Outdoor showers were wonderful after seeing at the beach. WiFi was very good. I can't think of a thing I'd change except having a longer reservation!!!!! Pura Vida!

We are a very busy family of 5 from Manhattan Beach, CA. Dad and the teen boys are avid surfers and think that Costa Rica is 'off the hook' for surfing !! They hope to get our youngest daughter to join them out on the Playa Guiones waves soon (she stood up her first time out !!). Mom just enjoys strolling the beach in search of amazing shells and sea glass. We will be visitors to our home often, and eventually plan to make Guiones our part time retirement home.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

After only one visit to Playa Guiones, we knew we wanted to buy property there and build our future retirement home. On our second visit, we rented this home and found out it was on the market. Soon after returning home, we gave up our search for a vacant lot and made an offer on this property. Gary has always had such a great eye for making things the best they can be - and so began our newest project - a new addition and remodel of our new home away from home. And because this house has been such a positive experience, we doubled down and built another house just 4 houses south on the same road :)
