Fourth generation farm since 1943 featuring the pre-1875 house including a gas fireplace, wifi, and jacuzzi tub. Chester the orange mackerel tabby lives outdoors but would love to be in indoor cat. Conveniently located in northwest Holmes County and 10 minutes from Shreve and only 20 from Wooster, Millersburg or Loudonville. Enjoy a relaxing day in the country or local attractions - Sunny Slope Winery, Harveys Market (April through October), MawMaw's Diner, Brown's Lake Bog, and Holmes Pottery. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing stay at an old farmhouse on a real working farm, this is for you. If you're looking for one of those "brand-new perfect everything white fake farmhouses", you will be disappointed and whine because real farms are a little gritty and far from perfect! The grass isn't manicured, there might be some weeds, my chickens are old, and cats semi feral, the buildings need TLC, but it has character, history, and authenticity.

Weekend Family Trip

It gave us the real feel of Amish country staying in an old farmhouse in the country. Short drives through the countryside to get yo the locations we anted to visit.

Amazing views, cozy house, escape the Hussle and bussle.

This was the perfect stay for getting out of the normal rush and speed of everyday life. Quiet, peaceful and just overall relaxing. Everything was perfect on the stay.

Country quiet at its best!

This is a true country property perched on the top of a hill where you can see for miles. The house is large and comfy and an easy drive to all of the local attractions. This is a great location to just sit and enjoy the quiet and find your peace. We will be back!!

A Peaceful Escape

This property is so beautiful, especially during the fall time! My fiance and I came here for a peaceful fall getaway to explore Mohican State Park. The pictures and description reminded me of my grandparent's farm so naturally, I booked this place right away. We did get to see Chester the orange tabby as he was very friendly. It was so nice to walk around the property and admire the views. As someone who has a hard time sleeping, it was easy to do so here! The beds are very comfortable. I 100% would recommend booking this property.

Quite night in the country

Nice secluded getaway. Beautiful farm house surrounded by farm land. Perfect place for my spouse and I to be alone.

Autumn

We absolutely loved our stay! It was so peaceful and quiet. We were close enough to Loudonville to enjoy Mohican and far enough away to get away from the crowds at the end of the day. The house was very clean and the views are beautiful! We hope to visit again. Maybe in the fall to enjoys the leaves changing which I’m certain will make for some beautiful scenery. If you visit, make sure to stop at Harvey’s market, just down the street, for a huge selection of delicious produce. Barb was a wonderful host!

Autumn retreat

We both grew up on a farm so we loved being able to walk out through the fields, watch the sun rise while sitting on the porch with a cup of tea, and seeing the beautiful autumn panoramic view!
