the rooms were clean and it was amazing to have a fireplace! the location is unbeatable; lots of wildlife to see, and it was close to restaurants! unfortunately there were a few things that knocked against this place; the downstairs toilet leaked—but the host and their maintenance team were responsive and helpful—and the kitchen could use a few more items…but we managed to do what we needed!

We really loved our time here. The host was so easy to communicate with and very responsive. The property was very clean and managed well. We loved the location and the privacy that it offered. We saw wildlife frequently.

Lovely property. Got to see wild life. Cabin is as shown in the pictures. Spacious rooms. Well connected to nearby sights. Easy to find the property and clear instructions from the host and vrbo. Lovely deck and patio! The interiors are beautiful. Furniture provided was in great condition. Host responded to concerns quickly.I wish the toilets were cleaned properly before our arrival. There was a stink from the sinks. The AC in the rooms are so noisy. The fans provided were noisier. Some basic amenities were missing.

Vacation

Beautiful area everywhere was easily accessible. We enjoyed casino and ski resort. Also Walmart close by. Great place to stay. Lots of room for the 7 of us.

Pet-Friendly, Clean, Plenty of beds and space! Lots of central space for family to spend time together. Loved the covered porches and outdoor furniture! Would recommend more work on the driveway rut. Make entry and exit smoother. We Greatly enjoyed our stay!! Would definitely recommend Hidalgo Haven to Everyone!

This cabin is pet friendly but it doesn't have a fenced area for doggies. We arrived and I put my doggies in the balcony but due to the layout I didn't realize one side of the balcony was opened, so while my family was downloading our luggage one of my dogs went out and peed in the car across the street, next thing, I received is a msg from the Hammingbird offices, that they were about calling the police on us because of that incident , also received a credit card charged notification because that same neiborgh reported more dogs than I actually had and Hammingbird didn't even bother to check with US first (their customer) before charging my card. Overall it was a very uncomfortable experience, it felt like walking on egg shells all the time. We go to Ruidoso twice a year for over 8 years now and this was by far the worst experience ever!!!

Hello Cristina, We do apologize you did not have a great stay with us! We are very sorry for this. We are a small town and wish for our guest to respect the neighbors. The neighbors did call us and state one of your dogs charged them twice and they would call the police, they also disclosed an amount of dogs. Upon checking your reservation, only 1 dog had been added on your reservation, instead of 3 that were at the home. We did accidentally charge an extra pet fee and we did issue that refund back to the card on file. We do wish you continue to visit Ruidoso! Hummingbird Cabins

Good family and pet friendly home

Comfortable beds! We were nervous about the glass covering the tables because we had kids so we moved the coffee table into a corner during our stay. Lots of pollen on the decks so I wish we had had access to a hose so we could rinse it down but pollen isn’t their fault. We would stay there again! Deer every morning and night eating the trees and bedding down in the vacant lot next door.

Necessities

I was disappointed because they did not have many items that we needed, not enough pans to cook, not enough spoons to serve, not enough kitchen big bowls for food, not enough wood to burn, the back screen sliding door was broken, other than that it was nice to spend thanksgiving.

Great spot to stay the weekend!

It is a nice affordable place to stay. I loved having an upstairs and downstairs bedroom and bathroom. The place was kept nice and clean. It is a close distance to hiking trails. The air-conditioned rooms made it a great sleeping experience! It is also very quiet there. We had a great time! Trying to think of negatives... the inside of the grill was not cleaned, but that was the responsibility of past guests, and I can say we gave it a good cleaning after use. We also had some trouble getting up the driveway. It seems previous guests had similar issues with the steep inclined of the driveway and dug in ruts making it even tougher to get up the hill in our small hatchback. There also was some big rocks pushed into the driveway. This is a simple fix and we informed the owners in a note. This is also a non-issue if you have a good sized pickup. Over all it is a great place to stay and we plan to return the next time we travel to the area.
