Disappointed overall. There was a terrible smell in the cabin and Cathy just said she didn’t know what it was without expressing any intention to help us. Then on the only day we had time to enjoy the place, workers came to redo gutters, hammering and sawing away and blocking the driveway. Not B&B quality.

Red Cottage is a well-loved 70-year-old home that we maintain with the highest cleanliness standards. While older properties possess an inherent, unique character and natural scent, we thoroughly inspected the property immediately before and after your stay and confirmed there were no plumbing or unusual odor issues. Regarding the gutter work, this was a pre-scheduled maintenance project that we could not postpone due to the last-minute reservation. The workers were on-site with you there for a brief period of time, and we sincerely apologize for that inconvenience. Because we deeply value our guests' peace and quiet, we proactively offered you a complimentary extended stay to make up for those 30 minutes of disruption. We take great pride in our history of flawless 10/10 reviews and will continue doing everything we can to ensure our guests enjoy a high-quality stay. We wish you all the best in your future travels.

House was just as described, clean, cozy, and comfortable. Coffee on the deck in the quiet morning watching the lake and wildlife was one of our favorite rituals. (Watched a deer wading through the water on the opposite side of the lake 1 morning!) There wasn't a good place to swim right there, which we knew, but we took their kayaks a few hundred yards away to a sand bar and was able to get wet which was great! Hosts were great and you could tell that they are just good people. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the red cottage! Everything was nice and clean and inviting upon our arrival and Cathy was a wonderful host! Wish we would have had more time to spend there...maybe next time!

Our stay at the red cottage

This cottage was very clean and comfortable for a restful stay. The lake view was amazing, especially the sunsets. The kayaking around the lake was excellent.

Great cabin for a little get away

Nice cabin on scenic lake. Enjoyed paddle boarding, fishing, camp fires and bbq. Very relaxing and easy stay.

Great cottage on quiet lake

Beautiful, clean cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Lakefront area is relaxing and great lake for kayaking and watching boaters go by.

Another phenomenal stay! We love everything about this piece of paradise! The location is perfect, the area is so quiet, great fishing, and the cottage has everything you would need for a wonderful getaway! We spent the entire weekend bouncing back and forth between the lake and the house, and we didn't leave until we checked out! Cathy is a fantastic host! Highly recommend!
