Lake Missaukee Beach Home in Lake City

This property has been updated since the 2023 season, and the issues that are in the negative reviews have been addressed! There's still a lot of beach for your family to enjoy!! Windows have been fixed and, a smart TV has been added, along with a new gas grill, so we invite you to come and enjoy all this beach property has to offer. Close to town, within walking distance of stores and gas stations, this large home has everything you need for a week's beach vacation. The lake is gradual in depth which is perfect for little ones to play making sand castles, swimming, and playing all day. For the older ones, there's a volleyball net and firepit on the beach.

A Great Getaway

The property was as described. It was a great size for our family of 7. The area above the garage was perfect for the parents with small children. The kitchen was well stocked and the deck had ample space with the firepit. The only issue we had was finding a spot to park the boat. We will be coming back next year.

Misleading

Pictures on listing are VERY misleading in how BIG the cottage/rooms are. Beds on main floor are full size. Closets/dressers are full with homeowners personal items. NO cupboards in kitchen for food. Outdated food items along with curdled creamer in refrigerator. Beach is NOT private. Shared with 18 families. No information left at cottage where boat lift located. Neighbor's not too happy with questions. Had to clean deck when arrived. Tv from the 80's. Cant sit around table as there is no room. No idea if a grill could be used. Multiple windows unable to be used. No water pressure. Bring own chairs for deck. Only positive was the beautiful sunsets and fun fishing. Very disheartened for the amount of money paid.

Buyer Beware Overpriced!

The beachis excellent. It’s spacious, and the sandy lake bottom is sandy perfect depth for younger kids. The unit is close to town, has ample place to park. I have stayed in many VRBO units, and this rental is the absolute worst value. The only review reads that pictures are a poor representation of the actual space. Very accurate.The home is very chopped up and cluttered. The bedroom/bath above the garage, while vey nice, is only accessed from the garage.WI-FI isn’t advertised, but property mgr. verified availability. Unreliable at best. Half the windows won’t open. Huge issue with no AC. The main sliding door to the lakefront is a mess. Screen is bent beyond repair and won’t slide or stay in the track. The lock is broke on the sliding door.A wooden dowel serves as security. Almost zero water pressure in kitchen and upstairs bath, downstairs bath I had to repair the flush valve in the toilet, that has to be plunged on a regular basis.the sink won’t drain, and the door handle is falling off. Adequately stocked kitchenThe kitchen is adequately stocked, but no room to store food.The mattresses are average at best. Rental needs a thorough cleaning, and owners belongings organized and stored. Many more issues to list, but out of character space. Thanks to Property mgr. for getting us partial refund. Honest opinion, property is worth half what they charge. I would be embarrassed to ask for these rates with all the issues. Loved the lake, will chose a different location next time.
